Good morning Pixlbit, how are you doing? How was the weekend? Get a lot done or did you spend a lot of time hanging out with Netflix? This past weekend I took another game off of Mount Backlog, and played a couple of other games. There really wasn’t a lot I played this weekend other than the usual casual couch games on the iPad but let’s get today’s blog started and catch up!

*Special March Madness Section

So my Aztecs started out flat against Duke and never recovered. This is what happens when you have offensive struggles throughout the season. You face a team who is good on both ends of the court and you have problems getting baskets, you lose. It happens. It’s not the end of the world like many feel it is, but we’ll be back next year. The Aztecs are only hanging one banner up this season, which is a lot more than other programs so I can’t complain.

I thought it was funny that the Point Guard from a rival school was happy about this loss. Funny because in all his time in New Mexico he accomplished one tournament win. One. With three players who are currently in the NBA. Yep we can’t all lose to Harvard when we were the higher seed.

Ok back to games; let’s start with the game I finished, the second game on the PS4 console,

It turns out I was really close to finishing inFamous First Light, and I just needed a handful of missions to complete the Story Mode. So what can I say about this game? At this point I am probably enjoying First Light more than Second Son, but I haven’t touched Second Son in a while, and if I get back into it, this opinion might change. What I am positive about is that I find the main character, Abigail more interesting than Delsin. If you played previous inFamous games you are ready to jump in and play this game. Lots of powers and things for you to collect, and once again this series is a collection of what I feel are good super hero games.

After completing the story mode, I went back into playing the free roam and after wondering how in the heck was I going to collect all the high floating glowing lumens, I turned to Google, and apparently using the boosts all over town I could not only speed up my runs, but jump. I guess I must have skimmed over this little piece of information during the tutorial. I am currently collecting these little items. As for the other features like playing the challenges in the arenas where Abigail showed off her powers to Augustine, I’m undecided if I want to give those a try or just jump back into Second Son and knocking that off of my Mount Backlog.

First Light is a fun game, and a perfect starter for anyone who has never played the previous inFamous games. The best part is that First Light is/was (I’m not sure) free on PS+.

NBA 2K14 – PS4

I have nine games left in the regular season with the Super Knicks who are battling fatigue and injuries, and throw in the fact that the majority of games will be on the road; this will be an interesting end to the regular season. Hopefully the Super Knicks get Steph Curry and Malcolm Thomas back for the playoffs.

Trials Fusion – PS4

I played a little bit of Trials on the 360, and whatever the PS Vita game is called and I like the concept of just racing through a crazy course with various obstacles/puzzles and compete with your friends. The game has simple controls, but trying to get your bike to land a certain way is always entertaining and there is a lot of replaying levels. This is a fun game to just play while listening to podcasts and I think I spent a couple of hours playing it on Saturday just trying to unlock the next track and earning new unlockables. There really isn’t anything groundbreaking in this game, but it is a lot of fun and that’s what really counts.

Cars 2 – PS3

I enjoyed the original Cars and I thought this would be more of the same. Turns out I have to play a really long tutorial along with short races. This game has changed from fun little racer in the Cars Universe to Mariokart in the Cars Universe. One of the race modes is collecting little powerups to take out your opponent, which is fine, but if I wanted to play this I could just power up the Wii or the 3DS and get a superior product. I leveled up my character up to I think Level 2 before I decided to stop playing. I’m thinking I should have gone with an action game like Captain America (I do like terrible super hero games, I played through Thor.)

Simpsons Tapped Out – iPad

The Super Hero storyline is still going strong and later on today Issue 4 with three unlockables goes live. I’m waiting for this so I can visit the other Springfield’s and earn whatever is going to be the in game currency for the new add-ons. The fun part about playing Tapped Out right now is that the water is green.

Spider-man Unlimited – iPad

I forgot this was happening, and I wanted to check it out just to see how the developers were going to show a tablet game on Twitch.

This Spider-man that I unlocked reminds me of Cobra Commander.

Well Pixlbit it turns out I didn’t play much this past week but I did finish another game which puts me at 15 for the year. I still have a couple like Asphalt 2, Lego Movie, and others that if I actually put in the time I could finish, or get a Platinum trophy for. Have a good Pixlbit!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

Yeah, I saw the SDSU game. That's rough, but at least you made it there. It did make me feel better when Utah beat the next team they faced by 4 points more than they beat the Jacks (our game against them was 57-50). Had we made some of our threes, that game could have been ours.

How much is Trials Fusion? I'd like to have a game I can actually compete with friends in. TheMart22 has not gotten back to me about Rayman Legends Kung Foot. lol

Yup. The Aztecs also faced Utah earlier this season and they go through spurts with offense is an issue, and they have some bigs. Oh well next year should be fun and hopefully we get passed the Sweet Sixteen.

Trials was $20 at Target. It isn't a bad price for a game that you can play over again to beat your friend's times and scores.

that Simpsons game just keeps on going.  That's cool!

Sorry about your team.  the NCAA gods are fickle bastards.

Yep, I think I've been playing it now for three years.

No worries, it happens. The Aztecs were placed in the hardest grouping of the tournament, and faced a team that had it rolling early.

Your doing a great job tackling games! I've only beaten 2 so far and both on 3DS. I'm aiming to beat my third maybe in a few weeks. I still got alot to do in it.

Thanks! No worries about the number of games, as long as you enjoy what you're playing I think that's what counts the most. I've slowed down on a couple of games because I was starting to lose interest in them. Hopefully the break brings back that spark so I can finish them.

I'm doing that with bravely default. I think I'll lose interest if I keep at the speed I am. I've been  playing it non stop.
