Too Many Good Games!

I hate it when this happens. I'm looking to pick up a few new games for my upcoming birthday but I don't think I can afford it. There are eight games in total to consider: Far Cry 2, Sonic Generations, Rayman Origins, BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, Tales of Vesperia, Mass Effect, Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, and Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition.

I've been wanting to pick up Far Cry 2 since last year. I thought I would get it last Christmas but it didn't work out that way. Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing is another title I've wanted for sometime now. I recently tried the Rayman Origins demo and I rented Sonic Generations and I fell in love with both games. After reviewing BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend, I basically want to buy any game of the series and I figure to start at the beginning. I adore Street Fighter and its strange I don't own one of the new series. I had Street Fighter IV when it first came out but that doesn't make sense now and so I'm going for the Arcade Edition. I've been itching to play a good JRPG and although not conventional, Tales of Vesperia will satisfy that. Finally, I think I should finally dive into the Mass Effect series. I rented the first one and enjoyed it after a few hours of playing but returned it back to get (ironically) Tales of Vesperia. I want to carry my character throughout the whole series so I'm starting with the first.

Unfortunately, this will all run me almost $200. I'm not sure if I'll have that much to spend on games (plus my hesitance to spend that much on games because I have to be an "adult" and save for "just in case.") So what do you guys think? What's gotta go?

I can't comment on all the games you mentioned, but I'd definitely recommend Far Cry 2, Mass Effect, and Tales of Vesperia. The Far Cry series is pretty sweet and I'm super excited for Far Cry 3 coming later this year. Mass Effect is amazing, I wouldn't know where to start talking. Vesperia is a gorgeous game with great battle music and a really fun combat system. That bumps the list down to well under $100, especially since those 3 games are all fairly old and can be found fairly cheap both new and used on Amazon for example.

That's probably around $70 or so as Tales of Vesperia is about 30, Mass Effect is 20 and Far Cry 2 is 20 on PC and I'll probably get that there since I can run it well, although I don't know if anyone is playing online anymore (not that I care that much anyway).

Last May I got Farcry/Farcry 2 for $7.49 on Steam. You just have to wait for when they have another deal.

Oh, and I'm jealous that you at least get time to play games, and that you are buying games. Right now I can't do either.

Trust me. After my birthday, I don't know when I'll be able to afford another game. As for playing them, I'm forcing myself to find time. It just doesn't make sense to write for a video game site and not play games.

Maybe I'll wait for a sale, although I actually didn't care for the first Far Cry.

I blame Mario games and Bayonetta for the fact I don't finish my other games.

Unless I plan on reviewing them of course. :)
