Pixlbit Nation how are you doing on this Friday Morning? By the time you read this I will most likely be sitting in a movie theater watching the next installment of the Fast and the Furious Franchise*. Here’s to hoping a giant plane is dragging a bunch of cars that are dragging safes, while inside the plane there is a full on wrestling match going on. Why do I love this series? Its so over the top that it is freaking awesome. I mean the first one was an actual movie about street racing, and then it just goes nuts from there. This is the perfect popcorn flick. Anyways it is Friday, which means another Quick Hits With Chris. Today we shall be talking about Wrestlemania, along with other TV Shows I’ve been watching, and what’s going on with photography. Of course it wouldn’t be Friday without seeing what Fake Lego Lady had in stock at the Swapmeet, so sit back and get ready to shift at least a hundred times and live your life a quarter mile at a time!

*EDIT: Ok so it seems like my trip to the theater has to be put on hold for a bit. Turns my pops went to see it last night. My local theater had a showing on every half hour but I got lazy and didn’t go. Blah. Oh well.

Wrestlemania

Pre Wrestlemania Matches

The Tag Team match isn’t worth mentioning so we shall go on to the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. The biggest storyline from this was that Mizdow finally fought back against the Miz and was one of the last two standing before getting eliminated by The Big Show

 

The Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship

Seven guys and a bunch of ladders trying to get the belt that is hanging over the ring. I thought Dean Ambrose suffered a legit injury when he was thrown over the top rope on to a ladder suspended between the ring and the railing and broke it. It was nuts. In the end Daniel Bryan won. For a match I had no interest in, this was actually fun to watch

 

Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins

This was a good match. I like both wrestlers but I wanted to see Orton win, and in the end the way he flipped Seth Rollins’ curbstomp into a RKO was awesome. It was the usual of J&J trying to interfere giving Seth the advantage. 

 

Triple H vs. Sting

 

Ok Triple H’s Terminator entrance was a bit odd. The match was fine until DX came out to help Triple H, and then the nWo entered to balance out the scales. I get the whole WWE vs. WCW storyline here and there was no way WCW was going to get over. This was one of those “dream” matchups from like the late 90s-early 2000s we had in college. The match ended in kind of a funky way with Triple H hitting Sting with the broken sledgehammer, and afterwards Triple H shook Sting's hand. 

 

AJ Lee & Paige vs. The Bellas

Yes this is my favorite match because it involves my favorite Divas. It’s a shame the rest of the Diva lineup can’t put on as good of a show as these four can. As for the match, it was all Bellas for the most part until AJ did her crazy Black Widow finishing move and Nikki tapped out. The crowd was getting a bit R Rated with their chants but overall it was a good match.

 

John Cena vs. Rusev

This was supposed to be the USA vs. Russia especially with Rusev entering the ring like a conquering hero on a tank, but many WWE fans don’t like Cena so at one point there was a “Let’s Go Lana” chant (Lana is Rusev’s manager.) I joked with my friend that Cena and Daniel Bryan should turn heel and team up and become the Boy Bellas (Daniel Bryan is married to Brie Bella, and Cena is in a relationship with Nikki Bella)

 

Non Wrestling: The Rock & Ronda Rousey vs. The Authority

 

Stephanie McMahon and Triple H come out, and talk about how great they are and how they got over on Sting, and then the crowd goes nuts when The Rock’s entrance music is played. The Rock does his thing until Stephanie slaps him and kicks him out of her ring. He leaves the ring and walks over to Ronda Rousey who’s sitting ringside, helps her over the railing and then the fun begins.

 

There’s a little bit of talk and the crowd starts a “Ronda’s Gonna Kill You” chant before The Rock attacks Triple H, and then Rousey flips him and he falls out of the ring. Rousey twists Stephanie’s arms, and gets her out of the ring before the Rock drops his “If You Smell What the Rock…and Ronda Rousey is Cooking” line. Again lots of fun.

 

The Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt

There were a couple of things wrong with this match: 1. Both Wrestler’s entrances are best in the dark. It was late afternoon in Northern California so the WWE did their best to make it look dark. 2. It was a SLOW match. Afterward it was said that Bray suffered an ankle injury earlier in the day so that was probably part of the problem. Undertaker brought out his rope walk and a couple of tombstones and it was game over. I was hoping he would have his druids and all his usual big entrance theatrics but he just walked out to the ring.

 

Main Event: Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns

Its funny to watch the heel of the match get loud cheers while the good guy gets booed, but that’s what happened. Lesnar was just destroying Reigns but Reigns was taunting him. Both got bloody early and the when Lesnar cut his head after hitting the ring post the tide started to turn…sort of. Reigns did his Superman Punch a couple of times along with a spear before both were basically knocked out. At this point Seth Rollins’ music started he ran down the ramp and cashed in her Money In The Bank (it’s a contract for a title bout at anytime within 12 months.) The match became a rematch of Fastlane’s Triple Threat match where ultimately Seth becomes Champion by pinning Roman Reigns.

I thought this was good because Seth is probably looked at as a beatable Champion, Lesnar can become a good guy who can’t be beaten because he wasn’t pinned, and Reigns gets to continue to establish himself and win over more of the WWE fans.

This was the first Wrestlemania I’ve watched in a couple of years, and it was freaking awesome! The action was top notch with a couple of exceptions; most of the on going storylines had excellent resolutions, and the new storylines should be fun for the next year. The one thing I would have liked to have seen is maybe an NXT match thrown into the mix.

 

Community

Community on Yahoo is growing on me. I thought it started out slow but the off the wall storylines are still making me laugh. I'm saving the most recent episode to have a back to back watch in place of no Arrow next week. 

 

Arrow

In another episode of Green Batman, this time Fake Ironman had a blood clot that could kill him so Felicity injects nano bytes into him. Yes Green Batman is now borrowing from the GI Joe: Rise of Cobra flick. Man I can’t wait until the bad guys decide to drag a safe through the streets of Starling.

What bugs me about watching Arrow on a schedule is that after the biggest episode of the season they take a week off. Seriously? Good thing I have a small backlog of shows to fill this void.

 

SHIELD

The storyline of “Real” SHIELD vs. Coulson’s SHIELD is still going with “Real” SHIELD invading the Coulson base looking for Skye. Things are getting crazy and I wonder if this will force Fury to come out of hiding to sort through things. When we last saw Fury he said he would be everywhere, which makes me wonder if this is his plan all along. I don’t read the comics so I have no idea where this storyline is headed but it seems like it’s going to be fun.

 

 

Chris Takes Pictures…

Thanks to YouTube, and some online articles I’ve been learning about the Manual features on my camera, and I’ve been still practicing with different settings and taking pictures at different times of the day. When I find a sweet spot for settings I write them down in my notebook, and I try them at later parts of the day, just to see how they differ from other settings. It’s a lot of picture taking but thank goodness for digital because I would have spent a small fortune on film.

I also bought a desk light to use for my humble little setup to take pictures for pickups. I might need another one to get as much light going as possible. So far my setup is just a flat surface, white poster board, some tape, and a light. Not the fanciest setup but for right now it works for taking pictures of pickups and other things. I also get to test different setups here as well as use the Auto feature.

I was playing around with some settings and I like how this picture came out.

 

I took it around 9am and after a couple of different shots this one came out as my favorite of the bunch. I'm going to try this setting later on with some Lego figures. Oh I also heard that there is going to be an eclipse sometime this weekend so I'm gonna see if I am able to take a picture of that. 

 

Pickups

Monday and Tuesday were my big game pickup days. On Monday I picked up these two Vita games on Clearance

 

Reality Fighters was a dollar cheaper new than the GameStop price. I’m thinking of using a Lego Minifigure as my face

 

I also picked up this game to replace my digital copy I got with the PS3 version

 

So far I only played through the Kratos and Cole Story Modes and I have no idea what I am doing. Maybe I should try the tutorial for combos.Since the fights are so short, I'm going to try and beat each character's Story Modes and to unlock a bunch of random items like icons and backgrounds.

 

On Tuesday it was the big launch game I was waiting for and Target also threw in a Buy 1 Get 1 50% off sale on all PS4/XBox 1 games

 

Ok so this is what happened. I bought the Target Pre Order card a month ago because you get a $5 giftcard. I like the giftcard more than the controller skins GameStop was offering. Anyways the game came out on Tuesday and I saw my local Target had the Collector’s Edition in stock. When I went to pick up my game I saw that they had one CE copy left and asked if I could use my pre order on that version. The guy said no problem and sold me the game. The problem was that the giftcard didn’t register and he charged me again for the pre order. A little wonky but he was apologetic and walked me over to customer service. They gave me back my dollar and instead of giving me a $5 giftcard, they just took $5 off the price of the game. So I got the CE for $65.

Since it was a Buy 1 Get 1 for 50% off I decided to jump back into Grand Theft Auto because I really wasn’t interested in any of the other games. Actually I thought about getting Saints Row but passed because I played the Gat Outta Hell DLC a month ago.

So I had a problem importing over my MLB 14 Game Save which really sucks considering Video Game Chris was in his 4^th year and coming off of back to back Triple Crown/MVP years, but I started a new career so hopefully this one will import over to MLB 16 The Show. More on that on Monday.

 

So my cousin let me know a couple of days ago Club Nintendo posted their rewards for this year. It was a pain to log in on Wednesday so yesterday morning I tried again and got to this screen before the site wouldn’t load

 

It was a lot easier to claim my game on the iPad and I ended up choosing this game

 

I chose Yoshi because out of all the other platinum games I owned all but three, and the other two (Mario Party and Animal Crossing) I knew I wouldn’t play and Yoshi seemed like a fun game to play. If you folks hit gold or platinum go check out what games are free to you!

 

Hot Wheels

Yeah remember when I said I’m gonna stop buying these cars? Yeah it’s still going on. I like to blame the local Walmart and their setup of having a big bin at the front of the store, sharing an aisle with Lego, having a peg board by the video games, and another by the Kool-Aid in the grocery section of the store. It’s like they know me. Anyways I found these cars

An El Camino.

I already have one each of the Batmobile and Jetsons car so I might open up one of each and park them next to my ’89 Batmobile. The El Camino is just cool because I always thought they were funny cars being half car half truck.

 

Fake Lego Lady

So I went to the weekend Swapmeet and I wasn’t disappointed…maybe a little because the lady with all the He-Man’s wasn’t there today. Fake Lego Lady had a bunch of new figures and I went a bit nuts

 

From what I saw on the Internet and Instagram she was selling the complete second run of Iron Man figures but I didn’t pick up the other three figures because I really wanted the two big guys in the back to complete some collections

 

I now have all the Hulk figures (the three green figures in the middle are legit Lego figures.) The Polybag minifig version of Hulk is a tad bit expensive for me (I think I saw it for around $30+ on eBay so the little guy in the middle will have to do for now.)

 

I also now have a complete Fantastic 4 set with both the minifig and the big versions of Thing. I think there are also a white uniform versions and one with The Human Torch is actually on fire. The Fake Lego Lady also had a couple of different Things with different colored pants. If I get the white uniform Fantastic 4, I'll need to pick up white pants Thing.

The one minifigure I thought was a strange variation is actually based on a character when Marvel and DC teamed up (you comic folks can probably give more info on him)

 

The green Iron Man from the set figures I bought is actually Iron Lantern from the Amalgam Universe for a guy named Hal Stark

Who knew?

Anyways compared to the Legit Lego figure on the right, Iron Lantern looks a bit evil. The printing and quality has stepped up with DeCool. The only problem I ran into was that the Thing was missing a peg to connect one of his arms to his torso. I’m lucky to have a bunch of extra pieces but can you imagine some random kid getting this?

So while searching around to see if any more random fake Lego figures were created I spotted this from a blogspot page I borrowed mybrickstore.blogspot.com picture so go give their site a visit for more info on these and other minifigures. It's a really cool page with lots of different figures I've never seen before.

 

A company called Elephant made these various Superhero figures on the Iron Man body. The quality looks questionable on some of the figures but they would be cool to have.

 

Ok Pixlbit, I need to do a couple of things before my weekend starts, like hitting the post office, and filling out some paperwork (Blah), anyways have a good Easter Weekend. Find crazy colored eggs, relax, and enjoy the weekend!

Ok so in high school I always thought this video was hilarious because the guy couldn’t put his feelings on paper, so he rips off a CD, does a fist pump like he’s doing it big, and then goes all stalker mode and leaves his ripped off lyrics at her place. The best part is, she’s not creeped out about it, and we don't get any resolution to the story. Instead we get Boyz II Men disappearing like they were ghosts. Oh I miss 90s music videos.
