Good morning campers!

I'm yer uncle mothman and I welcome you to mothman's holiday camp.

The camp with a difference, never mind the weather, when you come to mothman's the holiday's forever.... - apologies to Townshend, Daltrey et al.

I don't have to go back to work until Tuesday but since I promised some people I'd look into things before next week I'll probably be doing stuff from here. Still, I don't have to drive so that's a good thing.

I installed Pillars of Eternity yesterday (many thanks to Philip!). It seems to run well on my laptop but I haven't really done anything other than set up my character and go through the opening bit yet.

I need to finish Persona Q. I'm on the 4th floor of the Clock Tower but as usual I'm moving slowly. I've spent a ridiculous 135 hours on it so far when normal people can finish in between 50 and 80. I guess I spend too much time exiting the levels, healing and going to the Velvet Room. I can spend half an hour fusing and buying back demons or comtemplating fusions and then abandoning the idea.

I decided to soldier through Embassytown even though the going is tough. I'm over 60% finished reading and I'm learning to skip over all his made up words and repetition and just pull the gist of the story from each page. I need to find out how it all ends.

My boss has ordered me an iPad (the crowd gasps) for testing some of my web-site and form work. I don't really want it but I do need it because there will be many students and teachers using the bloody things.  I'll probably jailbreak the thing to make it useful. :)

I'm also getting a Surface Pro 3 to play with. It's one hella powerful Windows Tablet.

I'm not sure how my weekend is going to play out. My daughter is coming this afternoon and I'm picking her up at the bus station in a couple of hours. After that we'll see how much gaming/reading I get in.

What does your weekend look like?

Pillars Of Eternity is definitely a HUGE old-school isometric rpg so I understand why you wouldn't have gotten that far in it yet. lol.

Haven't read anything from China Mieville but I'm guessing he likes weird bug thingies??

Nah, I just basically checked it out then saved and quit. I'll be checking it out again later.

Actually the story in Embassytown is interesting, his style is just so dense with information and he has a tendency to make up words and never explain them. I like the off the wall living alien buildings made of skin and muscle. I'm not sure that picture of an Ariekei fits with my mental picture. He speaks of them having hooves and the pic clearly has insect legs.

Anyway. back to finishing the book.

Somehow I figured you'd like buildings made of human tissue. LOL

Axe of the Blood God's podcast this week talked about Pillars of Eternity. Sounds cool!

I'm going to do some game hunting on Saturday afternoon, then go to work. Then I have family stuff on Easter Sunday. Then I'll be at my friend Mark's place for gaming as usual on Monday. And all during this I will be stopping at Nintendo Hot Spots for more Miis. I'm getting really good at maxing it out almost every day now.

Congrats on the Windows Tablet. You could set it up to get rid of the tiles and go with a more iPad look Tongue Out

I'm a little late on this blog but I'm hoping you spent a lot of time with your daughter, and got your tablets running to how you like them!

I've got Windows 10 running on the Surface Pro 3 and if I want a more iPad look I can look at my iPad Mini 3 which I've managed to make barf three times in the last couple of days trying to do simple things like download a PDF. I click download and it thinks for a few seconds and reboots. Lots of fun. :)

It was not a bad weekend despite the fact that I've been pretty depressed about Chris. All this new tech helps take my mind of it but only for a while.
