Dealing with difficult times right now.

I received word from my mum last week that my childhood friend Chris just had a tumour removed from his intestines and is undergoing chemo and radiation. They apparently nicked something in the process and he lost a lot of blood. Yesterday I heard that he's lost 42 Lbs and isn't doing well.

Chris is 11 days my junior and we grew up together in England and were best friends until I left for Canada at 12. He was always much bigger than me and behaved like a big brother/body guard whenever I got myself into trouble with bullies.

I don't remember a lot of my pre-Canada childhood. I think the trauma of being forced to leave my life and friends behind at the age of 12 activated some sort of amnesia to help me cope. It didn't fully take though. Bits and pieces break through from time to time.

Please send him all your positive thoughts Pixlbit.

Hey Peter, sorry to hear about your friend. Cancer is insidious.

It must have been pretty traumatic to move across the sea at such a tender age.

At least when you got bounced across the Atlantic, they spoke the same language on the other end. I got moved to Norway knowing not one word of the language at 11.

Thanks to all of you for your thoughts, It's another reason why I love this place. I'm just hoping everything will turn out for the best. Luckily I have lots to keep me busy with all the new tech but it still doesn't prevent me from thinking about it.
