Blake is Back!

So... I got my computer fixed. My Hard drive and Graphics card took inspiration from Robin Williams and killed themselves and the world wept. That cost $415. Brilliant. And it's got no games on it and I have no internet. FML. PS4 it is for me I guess. At least they recovered most of my music. It would literally take 24 hours to put all of my cds back on...

Anyway, I was computerless for about a week. So what did I do? I finished Bloodborne... and started it again. I missed a few NPC interactions last time and I wanted to try some things. It's a fantastic game, but I have some issues with it. Expect a review by the end of the week.

Also, I went to housesit for Bilby's parents. There were puppies and a quad which I surprisingly didn't fall off once. There were also gigantic bulls, fresh air, and lots of rain. I still managed to tan like crazy. My arms are like chocolate brown, then there's a bit of red, and then it's super white. I'm like a pre op Michael Jackson.

So there. I'm off. Short blog I know but I have a review to write and I should probably catch up on your blogs. Toodles.

Played Bloodborne in earnest for the first time last night. Really digging it so far, I love the changes they made from the Souls games. Wandering enemies and the removal of a shield makes it feel tremendously different. Haven't really messed with the parrying yet, but I'm curious to give that a shot.

Only two complaints I've got so far are the long loading times and the very hard to see graphic they use where your blood echoes drop on death. I can barely see that stupid thing, whereas the bright green glowy thing was always pretty evident in Dark Souls. Pretty minor issues in the grand scheme of things though. Excited to jump back in later!

Yeah. I think I just got used to the Blood Echoes thing but you're absolutely right. It was god damned awful! The only other problem I have is with the lack of builds, so there's less incentive to jump back in.

It definitely seems like they trimmed the build types back significantly. Looking back on the DLC for Dark Souls 1 though, it seems pretty clear that Miyazaki was heading in this direction anyway. Tanking anything in Oolacile was pretty tough, and it forced you into a build that was lighter, more agile, and didn't rely much on a shield. That's basically what Bloodborne is from the get-go.

I guess it will all depend on what NG+ is like. If there's a significant difference between NG and NG+ like DS2, I could see secondary playthroughs still being enjoyable. Also, I know nothing of the Chalice Dungeons, but that might add some mileage too.

I'm halfway through new gam + and nothing has changed (apart from things I missed the first time around.) It's mildly unfortunate.

Don't forget that sometimes your echoes are absorbed into an enemy, and they then have glowing purple eyes.

Yeah! I went back for them once and couldn't find them, started killing dudes and then after killing one in particular it said I had gotten them back. That was nuts.

Regardless, I do have a hell of a time seeing them. But I'm sure I'll get used to it. There's a lot going on in the environments, so that has taken some getting used to compared to the more sparsely populated worlds in Dark Souls.

Why I bought a PS4 and don't have Bloodborne yet, I don't know. Oh right, that damn costly Vegas trip this Monday through Wednesday.

Haha fair enough. It was worth it though I take it?

I have to seriously back up my laptop content. Lots of pics and music on there. I think I'll get some archival DVDs and then maybe get a larger external hard drive. I'm using a 250 GB one and that's completely inadequate these days. I saw a 5TB at Gamestop made for the Xbox One the other day. I don't need that much. 1 or 2 for my laptop is fine.

Yeah. I backed a ton of things up to cloud, but I get 32 GB of internet a month, which is barely enough to get one game these days.

I remember my first housesitting job.  On the first night, someone broke in.  Bunch of savages in my town. Laughing

Wow... that is somewhat unlucky. Nothing too bad happened?

Scared some guy away and called the police.  A few months later, family goes out of town again and didn't ask me to housesit.  Their house gets broke in again.  Cops found the guy though.  It was the same guy I caught in the house.  One of the sons in the family ran his mouth about the family going out of town.  He was practically advertising, "My house is empty.  Come rob us."  The son wasn't so bright.  Still isn't actually. Undecided

That sucks about your computer, I'm glad you could get it fixed though. I need to replace my old one. I just put the new get to work expansion for the Sims 4 on it and it's now lagging. Anywho, can't wait to read your review on Bloodbourne.
