Good morning Pixlbiticans, and how are you good folks/little green men in outer space doing this morning? For those of you wondering it is a nice 70 degrees here in Sunny California, but we are expecting some rain this week so I need to get all my running around out of my system before then (So Cal drivers have no idea to handle sprinkles and people become crazy.) Anyways how was your weekend? Did any of you good folks decide to hit Record Store Day? I decided against going the morning of because the records I wanted weren’t worth the trip, but there was one I album I forgot to mention that would have been and that was the Lego Movie Soundtrack. Yep I thought about it, but in the end I wasn’t going to open it, and having it because it was tied into Lego wasn’t a good enough reason to make the trip to the mom & pop. I might go later on this week and most likely there will be some left over RSD like last year when I bought a bunch of 45’s that were on sale. While getting my pictures ready for this blog I noticed that my iPhoto account needs to be cleaned out because there are a bunch of screen shots of various games that are just taking up space. I’ll have to do this later on this week. Anyways I really should get started because I just got another project that needs to be started.
NBA 2K14 – PS4
I finally finished off my season with the Super Knicks by defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder 4-0
The Knicks head coach looks a bit like he’s a bit evil.
Anyways the road to the playoffs was somewhat smooth because every team was swept but the Wizards and Thunder put up fights throughout their series’. The Thunder were never blown out and lost close games except for game four when the Super Knicks went on a 12-1 run in the final minute. The last second three might have been in poor sportsmanship but I was feeling that shot.
It turns out there really isn’t anything much more to this season, but peaking at the trophies it looks like my current GM Mode with the Runnin’ Griz might have more to it because there are GM ratings. I’m also looking at picking up NBA 2K15 but I will probably wait until after the season.
Mortal Kombat X – PS4
I played a couple of Living Towers along with the regular towers. I want to play through each of the character’s storylines in the regular towers, and so far I only did that once with Scorpion. I played through a couple of towers with Sub-Zero, and Kitana, but I want to see how their storylines are. I also tried out a bit of the story mode, which is similar in setup to the one in Injustice. I really need to work on combos and special moves along with some of the Fatalities. I got a couple of them to work but at times I went back to holding block and hitting up up for Scorpion, and the forward down forward down punch (?) for Sub-Zero. The old game still creeps in sometimes.
Grand Theft Auto V – PS4
So I’ve been skipping around between Franklin, and Michael, playing a more of Michael’s storyline, and just trying to earn more cash for Franklin because I bought the property on the beach and I’m a bit broke. I also started collecting the clues to one of the side missions, and of course collecting cars that I want to customize later on in the game. I don’t know if I want to tackle online yet, and I’m wondering if my online game from the PS3 is available on the PS4 (I had a decent apartment that was paid for by the money Rockstar gave everyone to compensate for the terrible early online experience. I might try heists.
Little Big Planet Vita – PS Vita
I finished off the first world of games late last week, and I started with a couple of the levels in the next world. I like some aspects of the touch screen in this game and its fun to have to push the back of the Vita to interact with certain parts of the game environment.
Simpsons Tapped Out – iPad
More new characters were included this past week
A familiar face
Grimey!
And Sideshow Bob’s brother
Spider-man Unlimited – iPad
There was another round of voting
I went with Spider-man 2211 because he has a lot of arms.
WWE Immortals
There is a new tournament for Skull King Triple H
I’m halfway done with earning this fighter, and I think I’ll go back and play through the tournament again so I can earn another Triple H card to upgrade this one. I usually play through the harder levels first so I can breeze through the easy ones at the end with lesser powered fighters.
Mortal Kombat X – iPad
Since I connected the game with the console version I’ve been able to use the bonuses to purchase a gold fighter so fighting through the bad guys has been easier because now I have a silver Scorpion, Gold Cassie Cage, and a silver Johnny Cage as my main Beat Down Unit. I still take one tower a playthrough because the mechanics are so similar to Immortals I don’t want to get burned out with either game.
The final game I played this week has a familiar name to those who played the versions on Playstation but this one doesn’t take place on the streets, but on the water
Driver Speedboat Paradise is a game about a Driver who goes undercover for a law enforcement character who wants to take down the underground world that seems to live through boat racing (If only someone said “I live my life a quarter mile at a time.”) This is the same setup as any freemium game where you build up your reputation by winning races, upgrading your vehicles and unlocking new stages, all while trying to manage a stamina system.
You also have a lifestyle level system that you have to keep up with by purchasing clothes, homes, and other randoms that boost your rating.
At each stop you earn groupies err friends by acting a certain way. Apparently these “friends” tend to be drawn by the A-Hole answers. There are drag races, regular races where you try and collect power ups and parts to upgrade your ride and for those folks who have money to burn you can skip a lot of the grinding
Seriously if the Ubisoft would just charge 3-5 bucks for this game I would have paid that just to play the game but since its damn near impossible to earn gold in the game (the premium currency) this is a game I will play a little bit of if I remember to play it. Another decent tablet game ruined by the freemium model.
I saw on the iTunes App Store that there is a Halo bundle for sale for $10 Link to the article
I’m debating on purchasing these games even though I have Spartan Assault on the 360. I played a bit of that game, and liked it but it I don’t know how the transition to tablet games will be. I might sit a bit and wait. If anything I could just buy the new game only.
Well Pixlbit it was fun but now I have to go make something pretty. Have a good week!
That’s all for now, more later!
