From Dog House to House of Wolves

Howdy,

So I have talked a lot of shit about Destiny over the last few months, yet I have continued to play. And I was pretty much convinced that when House of Wolves came out it was going to be another half-ass add on like The Dark Below. And that I would call it quits because not anteing up for the dlc would handicap my game. What I have seen over the last couple of days has changed my mind. I am actually excited. New gear is always cool but what this game has really been lacking is new stuff to do and House of Wolves is really going to fix that. Massive new areas for what I hope is a nice chunk of story missions. A new social area with new vendors and bounty dealers. A new very different strike, 3 new pvp maps, and a new 3 player arena called the Prison of Elders aka the "Old Folks Home" that is going to offer randomized areas and enemies so no two runs are the same. Plus a new weapon class added to the speacial weapon slot called "sidearm". So far based on the two models that have been revealed they will be small caliber mid range pistols with high fire rate and chunky mags. And this time we can upgrade our last gen legendaries to the next lv cap which is bitter sweet because I scrapped two of my best gen 1 guns and several pieces of armor. But its just a game and I am sure there will be plenty of new ones to drool over. Anyway it looks like Bungie has been listening and they are actually trying to redeem thelselves. I just hope I'm not getting intoxicated on the hype.

Thanks for reading. Gemini out!

Im amazed you are still playing this.  It might have problems but if its a fun game and you like it why not?

True, that is all that really matters.

I picked Destiny back up and am having a really, really good time with it.  I play a few hours each day, leveling up my Hunter Bladedancer.  I'm at 18 right now.  I'm also going to level up a Warlock and a Titan to see which of the three I like the best before I hit the Vault Of Glass.

I was surprised....leveling doesn't take nearly as long as people say it does.  I replay Strikes when I'm close to hitting a new level, and it puts me where I need to be.

Yeah, hitting lv 20 is not too tough although you will still be working on unlocking all the class skills even after you officially make lv20. Getting to lv 30+ is where things get very grindy, have to find or earn legendary armor then level it up, and accendant shards are slow to come by. I have managed to get each of my toons to lv 31 with one set of armor. All three are lot of fun but I prefer the Bladedancer too. A little tip though, once you hit 20 focus on ranking up your Vanguard rank (strikes and Bounties!), this is the easiest way to get your hands on legenday armor. Crucuble gear is better but a lot harder to get.

I don't have my Destiny playing friend at work anymore, so I don't get to talk about it with him. So I'm kind of out of the loop with it. I'm going to try it myself sometime.
