yay Galaga! love that game.
I guess Hetfield is just a dad after all...
Yeah I heard about that PSN outage. Pretty sucky, but I guess par for the course. You'd think if you paid for it, it would be better service. Stupid....

Well good morning Pixlbit, how are you on this fine Monday morning? Currently it’s a bit breezy here in Southern California, and we have below normal temperatures, which is always a good thing. I mentioned to a friend how funny it is that in December we are wearing sweaters, and complaining about how cold it is outside, but the same temp in May, and we are roaming about in shorts and a t-shirt. I walked outside earlier this morning in basketball shorts, and a basketball jersey and wasn’t cold. Anyways I shook off that pesky weekend cold that hit me on Thursday and all the bad parts of it hit around Friday. By Sunday the only thing I could complain about was that I couldn’t breathe out of my nose. I passed the time playing a bunch of tablet games, and when I was feeling better I threw in a couple of console games.
Console Games!
Wrestlemania 21 – X-Box: So I decided to give this game a try on Thursday. The beginnings of my cold were starting to kick in so I was spending time on the couch and I just reconnected the X-Box to the TV. I wanted to try out the Championship mode where you create a wrestler and then have them progress up the ladder to become the next WWF (I think it was still WWF) World Champion.
Apparently Asian eyes isn’t considered normal. Good to know PC didn’t kick in around 2001. I spent a good 20 minutes customizing my character while having to sit through really bad menu music, but I think it was worth it
Yeah the phone wasn’t taking decent pictures. I blame the cold. Anyways I was able to create skin colored tights so my wrestler looks naked. I should have named him Ken, The Naked Wrestler. I finished my character, got to the screen where you talk to Teddy Long (Holla Playa!) and then I lost interest. I’ll get back to it at some point.
Cars 2 – PS3: You know for a kid’s game, there’s some good challenge. I’m halfway through what I think is the mission mode of the game. One of the races where you have a shield and have to collect batteries to keep the shield working, it took me maybe five tries before I earned a gold medal. This game is a lot more difficult than the original, but it is still a lot of fun.
Duck Tales – PSN: This was sitting on my PS3 Hard Drive so I finally gave it a try. It’s a retro side scroller with updated graphics. I enjoyed playing through one of the worlds but it isn’t a game I would sit through and binge play. I’ll probably play another level this week.
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire – PSN: I keep making it to the final five questions and the first or second question always catches me. I’ll get through this game without using lifelines. I did it with the Playstation, and DS versions.
Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga – 360: I finished off the first episode, and I think the first level of the second episode before having my fill of plastic blocks. I will most certainly pick up the pace once I get to the good stuff (Episodes 4-6)
Paper Mario – Wii: This was a Club Nintendo Download and I really couldn’t play this N64 game until I got a classic controller.
While I was up at 3am because I woke up from crazy coughing and couldn’t sleep I gave this game a try. I played through a little bit of it before being drowsy finally caught up to me. The game seems simple enough and it feels like the Mario and Luigi Dream game I have on my 3DS.
Madden 25 – PS4: Well last week I finished off my first season
The Cleveland Browns went undefeated and beat the Falcons by a field goal in the Super Bowl. I didn’t make any big moves in the Free Agent Market other than signing a new kicker because my old kicker wanted too much money. The Draft went well where I picked up a center with my first pick (he was a high 2nd Round player so I took him at the end of the 1st.)
My notes from actually "scouting" potential draft picks
Currently the team is 10-0 but once again my 2nd year quarterback is out for at least 6 games with an injury. I swear the kid is made of glass. He’s got a strong arm, but is slow and I’m thinking about trading him for a high 1st round pick. Hopefully I can get it along with a 2nd round pick, and try and recreate the magic I had in the first year by stockpiling 2nd round picks and adding more talent to the roster. I need to start looking at replacements for my top three WR’s I picked up in Free Agency my first year, and maybe add another DT to the mix.
MLB 15 The Show – PS4: Video Game Chris is still hitting above .500 and still stuck in Binghamton, playing Double A ball. The one positive is that I kind of have an understanding of how to use the aim your hits to certain parts of the field.
Tablet Games!
Spider-man Unlimited – iPad: This game I played the most of this past weekend because I wanted to some random prize during a weekly tournament. I got it along with a couple of unlockable Spider-man characters
I finally got Spider-man 2099 which was one of the original characters released with the game because unlocking him earns an achievement. I’m happy to finally get another Legendary Spider-man that isn’t regular Spider-man (I have four of them and all four earned all seven stars)
Galaga – iPad:
After Cary mentioned it, I gave it a try, and it’s old school Galaga with some new tweaks. The controls are simple with an option to control both your ship and rate of fire, or have the fire be automatic. I went with the latter. The one thing that was different was there was a timer that kept track of how much time you took to take out all the enemies on the screen. I like this game but it will be one of the games I will play every once in a while.
Simpsons Tapped Out – iPad: Still playing the Sideshow Bob storyline, and unlocked some new buildings and added
Sideshow Bob along with his HMS Pinafore Costume to the mix. There is a sidestory going on about having each kid in the town look for Halloween costumes, and its really annoying. I wish it would end so I can just concentrate on the other storylines.
WWE Immortals – iPad:
There is a new Tournament and they brought back the Cyborg Brock Lesnar. Since my stable of fighters is a lot more tougher I can unlock this character now.
On Friday did anyone else experience problems with PSN? I got an email that I needed to change my password, which I did and then I couldn’t log onto PSN from my PS3 or PS4. On the PS3 I couldn’t play any of my PS+ games which sucked for at least a couple of hours. I saw this Forbes Aricle, which explains the events. I’m tired of this, and when I want to play a game I don’t want to worry about if any of the options available to me will be effected by not being able to log into PSN.
Alright Pixlbit, I am off to enjoy some soup, take some pictures and get some work done. Have a good one!
That’s all for now, more later!
-Chris
Who would have thought James Hetfield would cover Adele with his daughter and it would be good.
Love Galaga. I used to play the original all the time at the local market whenever I had quarters.
You would think Playstation, a company with all the problems they had with their service would have some idea on how to prevent these attacks from happening or at least have a plan in place to get their service repaired. They might as well give everyone with PS+ a free year with all their problems.
I loved DuckTales Remastered. But then, I played DuckTales on the NES to death back in the day!
I think we're playing a different Galaga. Here's my recently posted review of Galaga: Tekken 20th Anniversary Edition. You've got to check it out!

I never got into the Duck Tales game as a kid. I loved the cartoon, but not the game.
Oh that game you posted sounds interesting, a mashup between Tekken and Galaga. Yeah the one I played is the original with some modern tweaks. I'll be on the lookout for that Galaga/Tekken game.
I had problems with PSN too. It was hacked again. I couldn't log on with my PS3, but I could with my PS4.
I played a bit of Ducktales Remastered too. My kids were watching me play and they enjoyed it. I played through I couple levels. It's not a bad game, but I agree that I couldn't play straight through it to the end.
