Stretchmo Demo Impressions

Stretchmo came to the 3DS eShop last week with the first 7 training levels free to play.

Having already purchased and enjoyed Pushmo and Crashmo I decided to check it out.

In similar fashion to the first two games you move things around in order to reach a flag. In this particular game you pull or stretch blocks horizontally or vertically to provide a path to the goal.

The 7 level demo took me all of 5 minutes to finish and once you've completed it you get the option to buy extra levels in 4 separate packages or altogether in a bundle for $10.99.

Buying any of the packages allows you access to the studio where you can build and share your own puzzles.

I waited for the other two games to go on sale before jumping in but they are worth playing for any fan of block puzzles and this addition is no exception.

Stretchmo reminds me of those 90s Stretch Armstrong toys where the gimmick was how far you could stretch his arms.

But there was no Push Armstrong or Crash Armstrong.

There was SNES game Crash Dummies.

Yeah, I'm also going to wait on a sale. I played the demo and enjoyed it - the new gimmick is cool and will definitely add a new layer to the gameplay, but I can wait. Regardless, I'm happy Nintendo keeps supporting the series, it's become a new favorite for me.

I love how addictive they are. Just one more puzzle and then I'll stop :)

I'm not familiar with these games.  Heard the name, but I have NO idea what they're about.  But it's Nintendo, so I imagine they're fun.

Yes they are fun and really addictive.

I downloaded the demo, played it, and bought all the packs right then.  Heck, it was only ten bucks, and I can spend that much when I go out to eat!  Plus I like the Pushmo games.  I've downloaded all of them, and I picked Pushmo World on Wii U as my Club Nintendo reward.  That way I didn't have to pay for a prettier HD version of the original game.  I don't know if I should be offended that they chose the old guy, Papa Blox, to be the playable character in the NES Expo pack.  That's the one I was most interested in, so are they trying to say I'm old? :)  I wish they would make a cartridge that had Pushmo/Crashmo/Stretchmo all on one cartridge in a collection.  Wouldn't a Pushmo stage in Smash Bros. be cool?

I know but I just finished spending $248 on a PS3 and another $9 on the Humble RPG bundle. I have to draw the line somewhere.

Wouldn't a stage with Mallo pushing and stretching other characters just be weird?

Nah, he would just push and stretch the part of the stage they walk on.

I have no idea what that is.  I'll have to check out the demo.

I'm kinda behind on what is offered digitally for nintendo systems. I'll look into this if only for more game demos to try.
