Right now, I don't really feel like talking about games. I feel like every interesting point I can think of has either been hammered into death or so so negative that I just want to avoid it. So I'm gonna talk about TV instead since the regular season of shows just ended.  And since I mostly watch comedies, that's what I'll focus on. But I'm pretty much expecting all of these to be blown away by Rick and Morty season 2 this summer. And if you don't know what that is, start watching Rick and Morty, especially to all of those Futurama fans.

5. Man Seeking Woman

 There's weird and then there's Man Seeking Woman. It almost works like a sketch comedy show, with each commercial break basically ending a plotline, all of which center around an idea for the main episode. For instance, an episode where main character Josh is set up with his sister's friend first has them escape zombies wanting them to join couple activities, then Josh literally tortured in an interrogation by his mom to know about her, then faking his death. 

What makes this strange show work is the way it really captures what the dating scene feels like. The feeling from getting a girl's number, the uncertainty from sending a text, and many other small details are perfectly summed up by the most bizarre circumstances you can imagine. It's very hit or miss, but the absurdity makes it worth checking out.

4. The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt 

A show centered around a girl reintegrating with society after thinking the world had ended for fifteen years by the mind of Tina Fey. While the whole cast is great, the star Ellie Kemper is what really nails the show. Her happy go lucky attitude mixes amazingly with her naivety. The rest of the cast have great chemistry with her and distinctly funny personalities while the plots are really well thought out with just the right balance of goofiness and satire.

3. Last Week Tonight with John Oliver

If all you Community fans want more of professor Duncan, I'd urge you to check his Youtube channel where all the episodes of his fantastic political show are. Each week he takes on a different topic from the IRS to chickens. John Oliver covers every topic perfectly, knowing when to poke fun with lighthearted humor, when to point out the severity of an issue, and when the right time to do both is. My only complaint is how he ends the show: His sketches are sometimes hilariously epic, but other times he really miss the mark. Still, you'll laugh your ass off and learn something, what more can you want?

2. Brooklyn Nine-Nine

I'm pretty biased on this one since I want to get into detective work eventually, so this came at the right time. And it helps that it has a great cast, not one weak link in its cast of characters and everyone seems to have good chemistry together. But by far the best part is Captain Holt, whose deadpan delivery is beyond incredible.

For fans of: Parks and Recreation, Arrested Development

1. Bob's Burgers

Say what you want about Fox, that channel knows how to make animated comedies. And with The Simpsons and Family Guy well past their prime with their other McFarlene shows leaving, it was up to Bob's Burgers to be the quality. At first I thought this would be another awful addition and I'm not that much a fan of the first season.

But as the series went on, it got funnier and hasn't lost its mojo today. The plots are creative (including a school musical of Die Hard competing against one of Jersey Girl) while most of the focus is put on the children. This is great because they're three really funny characters. Youngest Louise is Bart Simpson turned into a sociopath, middle child Gene gives the best quips and one liners and Tina.....well....

Don't get me wrong, the parents have their moments, but the kids get the goofiest plots, the best lines, and the funniest side characters. Bob's Burgers had the best blend of sharp writing and creativity I saw this season.
