So, Fallout 4 was officially announced yesterday.  Can't say that I am surprised.  Can say that I am super-excited about this one.

There is just one problem with my excitement for Fallout 4, The Witcher:  Wild Hunt.  I haven't started it yet, and with the way things are looking, it might still be some time before I get around to it.  I have been sinking a lot of time into Far Cry 4 since The Witcher's release.  It has been a rollercoaster of love and hate with that game.  Thankfully, I was able to figure out how to eliminate a lot of the things that were causing me issues with the game.

First issue was the touchpad, and for some reason the default was to have it on to change weapons.  I was wondering why the weapon select wheel kept popping up for no apparent reason.  It turns out my thumb kept brushing up against it when I was sprinting.

Second issue was the fact that the map was way too cluttered.  Thankfully, you are able to toggle on and off the items that you want to show up on the map.  I shut off all the points on the map that I considered non-essential.  Then I was able to focus on the parts of the game that I wanted to enjoy.

When not playing a crap-ton of Far Cry 4, I have been working through Jak and Daxter on the Vita.  That game is still a classic, in every sense of the word.  I should be getting the platinum trophy sometime in the near future.  I already got 100% on the PS2, I should be able to do it again.

I don't really have anything else at the moment outside of the fact that I cannot wait for Bethesda's E3 conference to see more Fallour 4.

I just heard about Fallout 4 about a hour ago.  I preordered it soon after.  I really hope it's as good as the other games.

I'm playing the Witcher 3 and it's freaking awesome.  It's a damn shame I don't have a 2nd PS4 and game, because I can't play while my wife is playing.  Watching her play the Witcher makes me want to play so bad.  Sometimes sharing sucks. Laughing

I am so thankful that my wife has different interests than me.  That way I don't have to watch her play...  the only problem is that I have to game on my own time when she is not around.  That time is going to disappear for the next few months, since she is a teacher and therefore off for the summer.

The game I am most excited for is Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. I wish they'd hurry up and announce the release date so I can know if we'll get it this year. Cannot wait to play that game!

After watching my wife play some of Fallout 3, I decided to jump straight to New Vegas but when the heck am I actually going to get around to that? Good question.

Less than two weeks and we should get all the information that we desire.  I completely forgot about Deus Ex, but that game is also near the top of my list of most antocipated games.

the one thing that I loved about Human Revolution was the fact that you didn't have to go in for the recall midway through the game.  but not going in to get the chip replaced came at a cost, your HUD disappeared, but you didn't have issues with it freaking out on you in the middle of a firefight.

I just heard about Fallout 4. I can't wait to see it at E3. Oh wait. . . I haven't watched the current trailer yet! Gotta get on that.

I really liked it.  Nothing too special, but it did exactly what the initial Star Wars VII teaser did, get me excited.

I'll probably get to it on the weekend. No time.

Fallout 4 excites me because it seems to have a broader color palette than 3.  That's important to me.

I'm certainly looking forward to digging my teeth in it, and I bet it does come out this year.

I just hope that Bethesda took a few cues from Obsidian.  3 was good, but something felt like it was missing.  I didn't notice it until I played New Vegas, maybe it's the dark sense of humor.

Witcher 3 is like totally super long! However, I don't think any of the content is bad. Yes there is a lot of padding with contracts and side missions and clearing out camps on the overworld, but I think it's all very well done. My only real issue so far is with the combat. I don't think it's as bad as others have stated but it could have been re-worked or enhanced a bit more to make it feel fresh. I don't know about them Fallout games, the 3D ones at least. I talked about my reluctance to play open world games before on a previous blog.

I know exactly what you mean about open world games.  I take amazing gameplay over a massive world any day.  The Witcher 2 just left a big impression on me.  I really hope they didn't mess around with the alchemy tree too much.  Those were the best perks in 2.

Never really got into Falllout, so I've been kinda left out of the hype train.

I have tried and failed numerous times to get into the original games.  I have had significantly less trouble with the Bethesda ones, but they are an acquired taste, so don't feel bad about being left behind.  There are plenty of other amazing games out there.
