Nice photos of the flowers and such. What camera do you use?

Happy Friday Pixlbit Nation! I can see the weekend, and its waving back. I don’t know about you but man oh man this week seemed to drag its feet getting to this point. Currently it is really windy here in Southern California, because apparently there is a hurricane off the coast and it’s changing the weather a bit. I’m not complaining because a couple of days of cooler weather are always fine especially if we are staring at triple digits for the next couple of months. Blah! After I finish typing this I’m going to try and enjoy a little bit of this by going to the local satellite post office (it’s at a golf course.) I might take my camera to get some shots of the mountains. Anyways let’s get this edition of Quick Hits started!
Chris Reads…
A couple of days ago I bought this audiobook
This is Adam Carolla’s fourth book and unlike the printed version, his audiobooks have more content because he tends to go off subject and might throw a rant or two during the recording. If you listen to his podcast you have heard most of these stories before, but he does go into more detail about his thoughts.
His previous book President Me wasn’t one of my favorites and I felt it wasn’t as good as his first two books (if you ever run into a copy of In 50 Years We’ll All Be Chicks, check out the last two pages where he has his bucket list. Lots of laughs!) Daddy Stop Talking goes back to the same setup as his first book about how well his kids have it, and how his life growing up sucks. I enjoyed this book but it wasn’t as good as his first two books and definitely better than President Me.
Chris Listens To…
I’m still listening to the CDs I bought over the past couple of weeks. I have a backlog when it comes to music. Over the past couple of days instead of listening to my iPod before bed, I’ve been playing the throwback Hip-Hop and R&B station on my TV. It’s those music channels on the end of my cable lineup, and most of the songs on this channel are songs from my high school/college years. I’m a little bummed my music is now throwback but it was going to happen.
Chris Watches…
Spelling Bee: This is by far my favorite non-sport event on ESPN. I wish there was a betting line in Vegas for it. I wish that there were sudden death when it comes down to two contestants, but I do like that there is a “shot clock” now so it forces the kids to pick up the pace. The co-champion Gokul went into boss mode when after narrator guy told him if he gets the word correct both will be champions and when he was given the word he just rattled it off. No asking for origin, alternate pronunciation, just rattled it off like it was no big deal.
Turns out Gokul is a sneakerhead because during the Spelling Bee he was wearing some Jordan XI’s. Here’s his Sole Collector Article.
Community: I have to admit I forgot this show was on Yahoo Screen but I did catch up and watched the last five episodes including what could be the Series Finale. Looking back I didn’t care for this past season. I don’t know what happened. I do like the additions of Keith David (currently playing Saints Row IV) and Padget Brewster to the cast. I thought it would be awkward but they fit in fine.
This past season wasn’t lost for me because of two episodes: Paintball and The Marriage. Both episodes were like the ones from past seasons, lots of fun and a little twist. The final episode was good and I liked the scene before the final scene. If there will be a movie I’m hoping it will be something fun, maybe rescue LeVar Burton and Troy from the island, and have a final showdown with City College where everything is settled with Paintball.
*Quick Rant about Yahoo Screen: Why is it that after every section where a commercial should go I have to always uncheck the Close Captioning icon? It would be nice to only check this once and be done with it.

Game Of Thrones: Episode 8 was really good and just like GoT, you find a character you want to root for…and they die. This week is episode 9 and by judging past seasons, someone big is going to die, and something big is going to happen. The teasing of Stannis’ daughter might be the character who gets written off or maybe someone from the Night’s Watch.
Chris Takes Pictures…
My first two pictures I want to share are actually of some toys
My two Batmobiles that were released this year. As much as I like the red and black Batmobile, the black chrome and yellow car has such a cool look to it.
The next image is Lego
A little bit of Star Wars, a little bit of Marvel
Yesterday it was really windy and the neighbor’s sprinklers were going so there was a mist flying into the yard. I thought it made a cool texture for the background and since it was around dusk there was some nice light.
My final picture was is again of another plant, and flower that apparently showed up over the past couple of days
I took this yesterday morning. The deep reds are my favorite things about this picture. I didn’t notice it at the time but the plant behind the flower went through one of the petals.
Thanks for looking at my pictures!
Pickups!
Games
While running around on Saturday I decided to make a stop at the local K-Mart to see what happened to their video game section…and to maybe look through their Lego and Hot Wheels. They had a handful of games left and when I scanned them the prices were 60-80% off. The games aren’t the greatest but I did find a couple I wanted for the library.
I got a couple of Cooking Mamma games. Both were I think $4 each.
I finally got that Cookie Monster Wii cover. I won’t play the game but for $2 it was a good price for that cover. Toy Story was I think $3.
Puppeteer was the most expensive game at $6 and it replaces the PS+ digital copy I have.
Yeah Disney’s Sing It is nothing more than shelf padding for the PS2 library but for .40 cents I can’t say no.
The total was $25 with some Hot Wheels but since I had like Sears/K-Mart credit (who knew I had this) it came down to $11.
Toys
There were a lot of Hot Wheels pickups this past week
These were from K-Mart when I bought the games. I was looking for the Fast & Furious 6 ’70 Ford Escort that Brian drove. Just like every store, they were out. Blah!
These cars were from Toys R Us
I added another USNT blue car
and a couple of Muscle Cars. The Jeep I’m saving for my baby cousin.
I’m telling you, once I get one car, they start popping up everywhere. I added another Black Chrome Batmobile and the card is in better condition than the one I already have so I opened the other car.
Yesterday I was out buying groceries at the good Walmart and since I was there for food, why not look through the toys and hopefully run into that ’70 Ford Escort right?
I found two more lowriders
A speed boat (it has small wheels) and another Cuda with a different paint job.
The next two cars I found next to each other in a bin
The Brave and the Bold Batmobile in the red and black paintjob and the car I’ve been looking for now for a couple of weeks! Thank goodness the collector’s in the area didn’t grab this car. Now its going to show up everywhere and hopefully I can get another one to open.
On the left is the black and blue version that I own, along with my new red and black version.
Lego
June 1st hit and I was off to Toys R Us for
The only vehicle I really want from the Star Wars Universe now is Slave 1, but damn that set always sells out. A little Flashback: When I was younger, probably like 7 or 8 Toys R Us had the big version of the Imperial Shuttle for like $50. I liked Return of the Jedi because of this shuttle but my parents decided maybe I shouldn’t get this set and instead buy some GI Joe’s. I was down with GI Joe so it wasn’t a total loss, but this was vehicle I always wanted. Anyways back to the present I got a chance to buy the Lego version at a “decent” Lego price. It’s not as big or as fancy as previous versions but I don’t care, it’s still a cool set.
The set itself took two hours to build, but I was taking my time
The finished product. The set comes with Han, Leia, Chewbacca, and a couple of random Rebels all in their Endor gear.
Inside the body of the Shuttle. I’m really liking that Lego is using the slide up panels in new sets. Inside it fits three figures and a case that holds some Imperial stuff.
The back is easily the coolest part. I like how sleek it is.
The Imperial Shuttle with its wings down is huge! I might build a stand for it so I can take a picture of it in flight. It is such a cool set, and easily one of my favorites.
My final pickup is from Hawaii. My friend sent me some goodies like powdered versions of some Hawaiian drinks I can’t get on the mainland, Hawaii exclusive Spam flavors, and these
I got a Hawaiian Tiki for the back of my iPad case, and a couple of King Kamehameha’s for my iPhone case. Kam is going on when my current light blue "aloha" sticker starts to fall apart. So far that thing has survived longer than the black "aloha" sticker.
Alright Pixlbit I think its time to end out chat for today. I need to go mail out my package and maybe grab a bite to eat. Have a good weekend Pixlbit Nation!
That’s all for now, more later!

One of the songs that was played on the Throwback channel. I haven't heard this song since college.
