Windows WE'RE GOING TO DIE Premium

So I had a few tech problems over the weekend. The most eventful problem I had was with the wireless modem. We lost our Internet connection when the provider was suffering from a blackout so we waited a bit. When the provider was supposedly back up and running again the modem still didn’t connect. After a one hour with India’s tech support, which aggravated me to no end, and a visit from our provider it turned out that the modem just broke. They gave us a new one and now we just need to setup our devices again.

The other problem I had was partitioning a Linux distribution along with Windows XP. I’ve learned a very valuable lesson this month: NEVER try to dual boot with Linux when you have Windows decently running. I consider this as a lesson because every time I try to dual boot with Ubuntu I somehow mess it up. The same has happened to Windows XP and my installation disc was damaged. Not commenting on how I came across it I got an ISO for Vista Home Premium 64 bit, wrote it onto a flash drive, and installed it on the Dell via USB. However even after some tweaking it the operating system was sluggish. For most of my weekend I have obtained Vista Home Premium 32 bit, updated it and just got it to a point where I can just work with it. I would also like to state that I’m not running a hacked version; the computer I’m using right now as I am writing this blog entry uses a product key for activation. I know this sort of thing is ALWAYS risky but screw it this Dell has seen better days anyway. Besides I’m not using this thing to access every porn site in existence.

To end entry on something a bit more entertaining I have been playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf since I got it a couple of weeks ago. Booting it up has now became mandatory as it has been with Awakening. I just invested in turnip stocks and spent more than 1,000 bells on refurbishing customizable furniture for my house. SEND HELP.

I rented Animal Crossing when it first came out on Gamecube, but didn't have the memory to do much with it and didn't like the squeaky voices. They look like so much fun now though.

It's very addicting. As for the voices, well, at least they are not as bad as Golden Sun's can get.

Idon't remember being all that put off by GS's voices. Huh.

Not even the female and children "voices"?

It's been a very long time since I played it and may not have gotten very far, but I don't remember it being a stand-out issue with the game for me like it was with Animal Crossing

Some of that computer stuff went over my head.  I did understand more than access every porn site. Laughing

I still need to get New Leaf.  I had some extra cash last week too.  I should of bought it then.  It's good to make a list.

I never thought I would get New Leaf myself.

Here's another lesson. Vista should never have existed and should never be installed on any computer ever. It is a piece of shit.

For dual booting with Linux always make sure you install Linux last and let its boot manager handle the dual boot. I had SUSE Linux and XP/Windows 7 running on a PC for ages.

I'll keep that in mind next time...

And funny thing is I think he needed some help from someone in the office to help me with my problem.

Man, technology is hell. I'm just glad I have a tech wiz uncle or otherwise my mom and I would be screwed.

Looking forward to someday get New Leaf and by extension my first Animal Crossing. I'm not gonna lie when I say it's partly because of Isabelle....

Kind of gotten New Leaf for the same reason. Tech can be frustrating when something doesn't work the way you want it. It's much like a car, you have to take a very good look at everything if you want to get it working again. Much like my DVD ROM drive that broke down from overuse.

But I really like working with digital machines, especially when I can do side projects.
