Finally Solved that Pesky BC Problem With my PS3

By hooking up my old PS2 again. I actually did it so I could compare Persona 3 FES with it's very stripped down PSP counterpart. P3P. It wasn't until I got it all hooked up that I realized both my PS2 Persona 3's (Original and FES) sold ages ago. I'm losing it I tell you.

So now I have to wait for another PSN Atlus sale so that I don't have to pay 10 bucks for a copy.

This also caused me to unpack my PS2 wireless controllers only to find out that the Logitech Cordless Action controller would no longer couple with the receiver. That was my favourite wireless and now it's for the electronics recycling pile.

I hooked up much bigger old Logitech that is heavy and cumbersome but it had it's own problems. It worked but if you let the left stick rest your character walked to the left all on his own.

I finally wound up with an old Hip Gear wireless that worked so that's the one I'm using.

Anyway that's how I spent a lot of my weekend.

As soon as the new heating system is installed in the cottage and the old one is removed, I have plans on setting up the old flat screen CRT TV with my older consoles. I am excited. My PS2 was my favorite console of that generation.

I've done that. I hooked up my PS2 to compare MGS games with the HD remakes.

I might have one or two of those around myself. Should do some comparisons.

I would love it if Sony responded to Microsoft by making PS3 discs compatible with PS4.

I'm the opposite. I have my PS2 hooked up, but I haven't played it in almost six months. I should change this.

That's odd that the wireless controller doesn't connect to its reciever anymore. Your Logitech controller problem sounds like my PSP's and their nub problems.

On searching the internet the fail to connect is apparently very common. I found many complaints that after a couple of years the receiver and the controller just stop talking and there is no fix. :(

That's the thing with certain pieces of tech, they tend to crap out after a couple of years.

Well, it's a PSP, it can only do so much and I honestly don't mind the change from 3D roaming to Visual Novel outside the Tartarus since I never played the PS2 games before.

I guess you wouldn't miss what you've never seen but having played Persona 3 and the FES version twice I'm having a hard time getting used to it.

I intend to play the whole thing just to see but the pointing and clicking is a bit of a slog for me.

I played through the Persona 3 games many times.  I think the PSP version is my favorite.

I love Logitech controllers.  I hadn't touch my PS2 wireless controllers in a while.  I hope mine still work.

This is the 4th time I've tried to play the PSP version and without the exploration outside of Tartarus it just doesn't feel right. Even the dungeon crawling doesn't feels different in some way. I started it up on PS TV as well and the visuals definitely suffer. As Alex said it is a PSP game and to fit all of Persona 3 into 1 GB something has to give.

The biggest thing it did was change some of the annoyances of Persona 3 and FES.  P3P is more like P4.

From what I've played so far you still can't control the other team members. I hated that game when they did stupid attacks that didn't work.

But you can issue commands where you can make them either have the AI automatic (they do whatever they please), to change to either have some members just focus on either attacking, guarding or healing. Was that on the PS2 version?

For the older systems, I'm fine with wired controllers. I actually have a Logitec wireless for my original Xbox that came with it when I got it. I guess that's nice, but I like using the original wired controllers anyway. Same with PS2, GC and everything older.
