Good morning and Happy Friday Pixlbit Nation! It is currently a nice 77 degrees here in what is usually Sunny Southern California but today the sky looks like this

 

Because there is a wildfire in the next county and since the wind blows towards us, we get smoke filled skies. One year the weather was described as “Smoke” when SoCal had a bunch of crazy wildfires. Anyways for temprature, it is nice outside especially since we are looking at this for the next week

Chris Listens To…

News Radio: Over the past week around noonish I would switch from iTunes to the LA feed of news radio. I don’t know what it is about news radio, but I could listen to it all day, even if the news just recycles every half hour. You folks here in Southern California remember when KCal 9 would air the news from noon to 3:30, take a half hour break and go from 4 to 7pm? Yeah I would have that on too. Well I found my replacement for that.

Not Heard Playlist: All the albums I buy go into this playlist where as I do some work, I’ll have it playing in the background and if there is something I really like or really hate I will rate it (everything else is a 3 star song.) I’m almost through the albums I bought a month ago and I found some good tracks.

Cheapassgamer AudioBooms: For a couple of years now I've been listening to their post presentation thoughts through what used to be AudioBoo. Cheapy D, and Shipwreck gave their toughts and some funny stories recaping the day's events.

 

Chris Watches…

Game of Thrones Season Finale: This season has its ups and downs, and overall I thought the season finale was decent. Since I didn’t finish the last book I was shocked at the ending, and from the podcast A Cast of Kings they said some of the events are actually book spoilers and will be in the next book. The season ending cliffhangers were solid and the hype begins for Season 6.

Daredevil, The Black Bars Edition

Since I last talked about Daredevil I had a couple of episodes left and I binged the last of it last weekend. First thing is I can’t believe Karen killed Wesley. Wesley became my favorite character and bam! dies. This is like Game of Thrones I tell ya.

The buildup to the big showdown was nice especially since we finally get to see the Daredevil costume. If this was a DC show, Daredevil would probably be another fake Ironman (I’m looking at you Arrow and League of Tomorrow.) Kingpin’s delivery of dialogue still bothers me, but the Daredevil/Kingpin showdown was good and I can’t wait to see what happens next season. I saw that there was talk of The Punisher showing up, and it would be nice if the SHIELD folks made a cameo. That probably won’t happen but its always fun to do what ifs within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

 

S-A-W-F-T SwwwwwwwFT!

NXT: Over the past couple of episodes NXT has been pushing Finn Balor, which makes me believe that he will win the title in Tokyo next month. Having Kevin Owens already fighting on the main roster during Raw/Smackdown and having a feud with Samoa Joe on NXT, WWE needs to have Owens relinquish the belt, and finally join the main roster and what a better way to do it than in Tokyo where Finn Balor wrestled. You give the next guy a push, and moving on to the main roster.

I have a Women’s Division Theory: Currently the storyline this week is Paige is trying to get the Divas to stand up against the Bella Twins, but nobody is willing to do anything. During last night’s match Alicia Fox interfered with the Paige/Brie Bella match and it looks like Alicia Fox is siding with the Bellas. During this time WWE released an article about how Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, and Bayley are the top four wrestlers in the Divas Division (there is also a photo of Sasha and Becky holding up the iconic raised four fingers like the old 4 Horseman), and Charlotte and Sasha Banks main events a couple of NXT house shows. My theory is during the Tokyo event next month during the triple threat match between Nikki Bella, Naomi, and Paige, Nikki and Naomi are going to team up and beat up Paige. When this goes down, the 4 women from NXT will show up and help Paige. I’m hoping WWE goes through with this 4 horsemen storyline with Paige to battle against the Bella’s.

This week there really wasn’t a lot of photos taken because IT’S FREAKING HOT! Anyways I did get a couple of shots that I’d like to share with you good people

My first picture is a plant in the backyard. I liked how the light was hitting it

 

The next picture is of some leaves. I liked the detail on the leaves combined with the blurred out grass in the background

This is cropped because I don’t want to show the neighbor’s houses (it isn’t fair to those folks.)

 

This was taken in the back this morning as the more of the smoke moves into the valley.

It smells like smoke outside, and when I was trying to take a picture of the orange haze sun I started coughing and went inside.

 

My final picture I took a couple of days ago after watching a YouTube video explaining the different focus settings. I like how this image came out

The LA Clippers unveiled their new logo and jerseys

 

For you sports video game fans doesn’t look a little familiar

 

Here are my thoughts on the one California team I root for: The logo is terrible, and I agree with many people over social media have said; it looks like clip art. The Clippers front office had a lot to pull from for inspiration: Clipper ships, the ocean, Los Angeles, California History, and instead they shape LA like a basketball court the blue C represents surrounding LA? Really? Also the lines represent the horizon…blah blah blah. If they wanted to go nautical directional rose with a basketball would have been better. Also seriously adding black? Yeah that was hip five years ago. Now its just played out.

If the Clippers were smart they would have just waited the two years before Nike takes over the NBA Contract, and have them redesign their identity and uniforms. I guarantee it would be a millions times better than this hot steaming mess they have now.

 

I heard about this a while ago about a company buying the old Atari Jaguar molds to build a console and it showed up on the promoted section in Twitter

A couple of weeks ago I saw the Nike SNKRS app being talked about. Basically what it does is it lets folks who want to buy hyped sneakers buy them through the Nike app instead of going through the website. This morning on my Twitter feed I saw that the Nike Dunk “De La Soul” was restocked

 

The shoe is the high top version of the SB Dunk that took its inspiration from De La Soul’s 3 Feet High And Rising album cover

 

The shoe is too flashy for me and way too expensive for a dunk ($150.) If you folks out there got a pair, congrats.

 

A couple of days ago I found that moths have been feasting on a couple of my hats. I lost three good caps to them so last night I went and bought a plastic tub to keep them in

 

Originally I thought one tub was enough space but it turns out I might need a second. I need to slimmed down the collection again and buy some cedar.

You guys/gals/little green men in outer space saw my adventures with NBA 2K15

 

This is my second copy. Currently I started a My GM with the Milwaukee Bucks, and I traded for two additional first round picks (two of which might be lottery picks.) The current Bucks squad is really slow but hopefully I can change that by getting rid of the guys with one year left on their contracts, drafting really good players, and getting Jabari Parker back into the lineup.

 

Music

The local mom & pop has been good and this time in their Buy5Get5 Wall I found some new stuff

 

I’ve never owned a Mobb Deep album, so I might as well start now. I bought Beatnuts because of this song

 

Yeah another song from college. Ice Cube because early Cube is always good to listen to.

 

10,000 Maniacs. I guess I’m going for a full discography now. This all started because of their MTV Unplugged album.

 

Seriously I don’t know how Milli Vanilli won an Emmy for that album. That album BLOWS! Good thing I bought it for the three songs for my Growing Up Playlist. Did I mention the album BLOWS?

 

The next album purchases were from Target. They are having a sale right now on certain albums and if you use the Cartwheel app you get an additional 10% off.

 

Both albums dropped to $10 during the sale. I didn’t want to spend the $14 on each but $10 is fine.

 

I had either the single Girls Chase Boys, or the mp3 version of the album. Now I have a physical copy. Love Ingrid Michaelson aka The Old Navy Commercial.

 

 

And final pickup was last night because that damn Twisted Tea commercial is always playing and the whistling got stuck in my head

 

 

Alright Pixlbit my one load of laundry just finished and I need to toss another load into the machine before it gets too hot to be running the washer and dryer. See Power Companies I was listening when you said not to use those machines to conserve power during the summer. Have a good weekend Pixlbit!

So the first time I heard this song was on MySpace (remember MySpace?) I followed her and I think Colbie Caillat. There was another artist who I thought was really good but didn't have their commercial success. Anyways I had one of those hipster moments when I saw this commercial and said "Hey Its The MySpace Girl."
