Sounds fun. Getting tired of the apocalyptic wasteland setting though.
Now Playing... "Lisa"

Now I know a lot of you don't play indie games, or Steam games, or pixel art games, or art games, or anything like that. That's ok, everyone has different tastes. But I've been playing this game "Lisa" that I got half-price on Steam last week that is really good, and is a perfect example of why I do play these sorts of games.
Set in an apocalyptic wasteland where you're trying to rescue your adoptive daughter, the game is a 2D side-scrolling RPG with both a wicked sense of humor, and a tragic bent. The storytelling is superb, but it also matched by intelligent game design. It might be a bit amateur in places if you're used to playing highly polished games, but if you can look past that, it's really neat.
Most of the game is 2D side-scrolling, but it switches to a 1st person turn-based battle system for combat. You can use powers, and items, etc.
Control is handled on the keyboard, something I usually hate. There's no real jumping or anything that requires finesse though. The combat is interesting as you use the WASD keys to enter combos akin to Xenogears, and it's actually pretty cool.
Anyway, I had a lot of fun playing it today. I'd like to review it, but we'll see if my limited attention span can handle the whole game. I hope so. I want to see what happens.
