Good Morning Pixlbiticans! It is a nice, but warm Monday here in sunny Southern California and before we start I have to apologize for not reading and replying to blogs and comments over the past couple of days. The family is in town and we’ve been busy, but I will get to all of your posts ASAP! I’m going to have a quick catch up blog today to keep with my Monday/Friday schedule of posts.

The $5 Hour Halo Spartan Strike – iPad $2.99 digital from iTunes

Plot: You’re a little soldier guy in the Halo universe. You shoot bad guys; collect stuff, and complete objectives. Rinse, repeat.

Gameplay: Surprisingly the controls on this game are easy to use. Touch anywhere on the left side and you control the movement, touch the right side of the screen, and that is where your solider shoots. The only awkward thing is when you are holding the iPad like a newspaper (controlling the game with your thumbs) and you have to tap on the hand icon to pick something up or to have a melee battle.

If you have played the previous 360 game you know what to expect and the game layout is the same. There isn’t a lot to this game story wise, but you do get a good dose of shooting bad guys, picking up weapons, and it’s a nice extension for you folks who love the Halo Universe

After the Hour: Unlike the first game I might actually finish this game. I feel it is a perfect game for the tablet because the controls are simple (try playing ports of Street Fighter and that game is a mess) There is a combo deal for both games for $8, which is a good deal but like I said before I already own the first game and at the sale price of $3 I couldn’t pass it up.

Chris Plays…

Rocket League – PS4: This game is so much fun especially in multiplayer. My younger cousins have been playing a ton of this game, and I think their favorite part is to customize the trucks. Most of the trophies I have from this game is from them.

Lego Movie – PS4: I’ve been playing a bit of Co-Op with my 6-year-old cousin and we’ve knocked out some levels. A couple of the levels he attacked on his own and I was shocked to see him complete them with little assistance. I told him before he leaves we have to complete the game, and so far I think he needs maybe five or six more levels before we complete the game.

Uncharted – PS3: So I’ve never finished the game, heck I never got past the first or second chapter but last week I started it up again and I am currently around Chapter 4. I’m back in the Uncharted groove and I’m enjoying the game.

Tomb Raider Guardian of Light – 360: So apparently I own this game. I had no idea I owned it until while looking through my digital library on the 360 after playing some Hydro Thunder. I haven’t gotten very far into the game but I like it. It’s a top down game similar to the Halo game I’m currently playing.

Hydro Thunder – 360: I swear all of a sudden this game has become freaking awesome. For a bit I was stuck, but after loading it up a couple of weeks ago, I’ve enjoyed trying to earn enough credits to unlock the next Championship event. I’m almost halfway to racing all 10, and while trying to unlock them, I unlocked some other events.

Simpsons Tapped Out – iPad: Today should be the day the Act Three prizes are released. I’ve upgraded my Tapball arena and I unlocked this guy

I thought it was fitting especially right now since the Pam Am games are currently in progress (what channel is this on?).

Spider-Man Unlimited – iPad: Currently there is another good vs. bad event going on among the players where in game you collect either a red or blue token. I don’t know how but I am on the good side so its all red tokens. Also there is a new Mary Jane character

Mortal Kombat/Injustice/WWE Immortals – iPad: So on Mortal Kombat there is a Liu Kang fighter waiting to be unlocked and I am halfway finished. Also there is a new section of mission levels. I kind of wish I didn’t slack off after finishing because I could have had more Level 50 Fighters and I would have just buzz saw my way through it.

Injustice I unlocked Arkham Bane, and I am just waiting for the next unlockable fighter.

WWE Immortals I haven’t been really playing because the tournament is for a card I already have even though it would boost my current card if I won it. I have two days to capture it, so I might give it a go during lunch today.

Random: A couple of days ago I noticed that my PS4 wasn’t shut down and when I checked out my XMB I noticed Plants vs Zombies was installed. Nobody would confess to downloading it, and eventually we figured out who downloaded it because the game was also on their iPad.

Alright Pixlbit I am off to get some work done before the family wakes up. Have a good week and I’ll try and comment and read all the good stuff that is piling up in my inbox.

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

Rocket League does indeed seem like a lot of fun.  I considered buying it, but I've got enough of a backlog as it is.  Still, I haven't played a multiplayer game in quite some time, and I kind of miss them.

RL is fun with with another person. The younger cousins are digging it because before every race they go and customize their cars, and then proceed to chase each other and try and score a goal.

I keep hearing about this Rocket League. Sounds fun.

It is such a fun game and if you like playing games on the couch with another person this game is perfect.

Rocket League is a hell of a lot of fun. I enjoy racing around trying to get a soccer ball in the goal wearing my fire truck hat on my car.

I was looking to get inFamous First Light yesterday for $8 via PlayStation Store sale (they also had Injustice), but I snoozed through too long. It's now about $15 again. Damn.

hey Joe, I think there's a game called "The Fall" on PS+ this month.  Check it out.  I played it a couple months ago, and started writing a review of it but got distracted.  some of the puzzles are tough, but otherwise I liked it.

It's not one of the free games though. I'm kinda limiting my purchases right now. I really don't want to go down the Steam rabbit hole again, because I look at some of my Steam games now that I'm mainly on PS4 and wonder why the hell I have some of these (or if I can play them).

Haha I also use the Fire Truck and I just started with either the sombrero or the mariachi hat. Sucks that you missed out on the sale price of First Light. I really enjoyed that game and its a steal at $8

Don't you love it when relatives mess with your electronics? One of my nephews was over once and he brought the hard drive for his 360. I told him not to swap them out until we had vacuumed and dusted first, but when I got up the next morning, his hard drive was in the 360. Words were said ("I am so disappointed with you!" I sounded like my mom, lol).

Oh they love to do that, and bring their electronics that need to be fixed. My 6 year old cousin wanted to sweep the TV because he said it was dirty. A little dusty maybe but nowhere near dirty.
