Good morning Pixlbit Nation, how are you on this fine Monday morning? Currently here in what is usually sunny Southern California, it is overcast after a weekend of rain (we’re in a little drought) and there should be more rain coming later on today. I am excited because I get more opportunities to practice taking photos of water. Since the weather was a bit gloomy I decided to not go out and instead spend time with the PlayStation family along with some iPad gaming. It has been a couple of days since my family from Hawaii have left and this is the first time I played the PlayStation without having to load the second controller and wonder why the second controller has chicken grease and why the nub has a little piece ripped out (a 6 year old told me the bump was bothering him so he had to scratch it out…while eating a piece of fried chicken.) Anyways let’s get started with what I played
Ooh before we get to that I don’t know if I mentioned this but while the cousins were down I gave away two of my PS4 games. Call of Duty Ghosts and Lego Movie were the games. I had no problems giving them away because I’ve played them multiple times on different consoles, and my cousins would get a lot more enjoyment out of them. Of course the 6 year old cracked the PS4 case within a couple of days. The 10 year old who got Ghosts quickly placed his game in his backpack and never touched it. I might send him a GameStop gift card on his birthday. The 6 year old will probably get something that can’t be broken.
Another Game Off Mount Backlog

As much as I loved this game originally on the PS3, it became a chore on the PS4 and I grew tired of it. I uninstalled it on the PS4 and it wasn’t until my family came to visit that I started playing it again. The 6 year old and I completed the game, and I made him do most of the heavy lifting in the game.
During the free play I would quickly pick Superman and make his character explode because it was funny. He then wanted to try it on my character so I said sure, and before he could switch to Superman I would shoot lasers at his character again and make him explode.
Oh so for the game, its still the same game that I played on the PS3. We ran into a couple of glitches but nothing too bothersome. I’m happy I finished this game because I can take it off Mount Backlog, and on the PS4 hard drive. Because of this game and not wanting to finish off the DLC for Saints Row I’ve decided to no longer buy ports of games I already played just because they are on PS4. I do however at some point need to finish off Grand Theft Auto V because I spent $30 on it.
The $5 Hour: Spider-Man 2 – iPad .99 cents from iTunes

Plot: If you ever wanted to play one of the Batman Arkham games on an iPad, with Spider-Man, in the daytime, this game is for you! You take the web slinger for a cruise around New York City as he stops crime, figures out who is causing trouble in the main storyline, and sign autographs (no this is actually in the game) all while earning coins to buy upgrades, and if you can’t wait you can use real money.
Gameplay: The gameplay is quirky. You can hit any section on the left side of the screen to use the nub but the right side buttons are stationary.

The camera is the weak point in this game. It isn’t as fluid as it should be and often I found that I would have to either stop what I am doing to rotate it or just push right through it until it catches up. Many times I wouldn’t know where I am web swinging because of this and instead of swinging up to a building I would have to run up the side. This wouldn’t be that big of a deal with the exception that a couple of objectives are time based and this kills five 5 seconds which, is a lot considering you get maybe a minute to reach the area and defuse a bomb.

After the Hour: The game is fine, especially for a game made for the iPad and for .99 cents it is a deal. I wish some of the objectives were a bit deeper than meeting fans who want an autograph but this is probably due to the size of the storage on the iPad. Since the missions are really short I can see myself playing one or two missions before logging out. I shall call this game, Daytime Batman.
Other Games I Played:
NBA 2K15 – PS4: So I must have hit the point where my starting SG and SF are down with significant injuries. The positive is that at the SF position I have Jabari Parker as the backup so scoring from that position has gone up. The long time bench player I have at SG is doing really well, but I will still draft a SG in the next NBA Draft. I currently have four picks in this draft and I thought about packing three of them along with OJ Mayo or Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Cavs for LeBron. It will probably not work but I managed to trade 2nd round picks for a 1st round lottery pick so I guess anything is possible.
The Crew – PS4: I spent a lot of time Saturday playing through this game. What takes up most of my time is driving to new points in the game. I never realized how short the actual story missions are because I knocked out two sections of the story and I am currently almost done with the 3rd section. Since this game is always connected to the Internet I got a couple of in game requests to help on missions. I declined because I was going through my missions. Well a couple of the folks who I declined decided it would be funny to go and ram my car. Once it was while I was competing in slalom while a couple of other times it was when I was driving to a location. The last time is when this kid wouldn’t leave me alone so I was a bit heated, pulled a pit maneuver which spun him into a guard wall, and I proceeded to ram his car a couple of times. Seriously what is wrong with people online?
Rocket League – PS4: So I suffered my first defeat at the hands of the second place team. We are both something like 13-1 but they have a lost from another team so I am in first. I do like this game but it is a lot more fun in multiplayer. I learned a couple of tricks from my younger cousins but I think they all stole my boost during the start of the match to hit the ball into the goal from midfield. My cousin tweaked it when she said to jump a little before hitting the ball. It works too. Anyways just like everyone else I am caught up in Rocket League feaver.
Geometry Wars 3 – PSVita: So it’s been around 24 days or so since I booted up the Vita (Treasures of Montezuma Mesa says so) and my only reason to fire it up was because of this game. I was jealous that the 360 had this game and when I “enhanced” the PSP, I saw a homebrew of it and I played a bunch of it. I think that was my favorite game for a while. Anyways this game is more of that goodness and I have ventured farther than any of my friends in the game (seriously only 2 folks are playing it.) Such a fun game. I’ll probably play a little bit of it later on today instead of reading/replying to your folks blogs. Blame PS+!
Marvel Future Fights – iPad: So when I was buying those .99 cent games last week I stumbled upon this game and at first I thought it was the card game I played awhile back before realizing it was a beat’em up.

I’m running with the three-startup characters because well I forgot I unlocked this guy

The game is fun, it gives you a lot of energy (it takes energy to play through a level and you can wait for it to recharge or pay. The usual freemium standard) I think I am just starting the 3rd chapter of levels and I’m going to log in everyday so I can get this guy

I wish Lego would just release the Red Hulk already. Thank you Fake Lego Lady for the Red and Gray Hulks.
Injustice/Mortal Kombat X – iPad: Injustice I haven’t played much but this character is up for grabs

She’s in the new show on the CW along with Fake Iron Man, and the good Canary from Green Batman
From MK X I unlocked this guy

Props to my 10 year old cousin for unlocking him before I did with fighters that are much less powerful than the characters I run with (three level 50 characters)
Simpsons Tapped Out – iPad: The Tapball event is almost over so I thought I’d share the Tapball stadium I made for my team

The gold might be a little much…
Alright Pixlbit I am off, I need to go find something to eat, jump on some projects, and start reading my backlog of blogs.
That’s all for now, more later!
-Chris
