I have to say that I'm pretty impressed with the PS4 so far. The experience with the interface, PSN store downloads, and free games like The Crew, War Thunder have been pretty good. I need to check out Planetside 2 I suppose. I think the Free to play options are quite good for a new console purchuse, coupled together with PS Plus, its quite a good experience. I really wish that PS4 had more content though. I feel like some of their sale games on PSN are still too high, and I would love to have access to PSOne or PS2 games, or even PS3 games at this point.

I just haven't tried out Streaming yet which is my next test. Also Destiny plays like a dream, but I only played the demo and it's actually quite boring in my opinion. I like my horror and indie games, or JRPGs.

Arkham Knight

This game is really good. I haven't finished it yet and I've been putting hours into it since I purchased it. I do like the super dark tone that Batman takes on in this game because I don't remember seeing him portrayed this violently since some of the more classic comics from Frank  Miller. I actually feel like Batman is a supervillain in this game like Kratos in God of War or Dante in Devil May Cry. Joker is purely evil and Batman has lost his damned mind. I love my Adventures of Batman cartoon version of Gotham or the Frank Miller or New 52, and  it's interesting to see such a dark representation here. It almost feels like horror game at times, more so than an action game. An action/horror game? I like it.

Omega Quintet

This is the first new IP JRPG on the PS4, or at least one of the first from Neptunia makers Compile Heart. It's essentially a Neptunia game but also doubles as a JPOP teen idol simulator complete with music video editor on the side. Yup, it's like Sailor Moon the RPG, except kind of dull on the story side. Very Anime and girly, but those battle animations are quite something to behold. I'm glad to see weird ass JRPGs appearing on PS4.

That's pretty much what I've been playing.

As for TV. KillJoys and Dark Matter are quickly becoming my favorite shows this summer. I do love sci-fi action and space, and this will do for now. The characters are all growing on me and I hope to get at least another season or two from these shows.

Whacha been playing y'all? What must I play on PS4 for all you PS4 owners? Seriously, PSN needs a good flash sale like STEAM, otherwise my PS4 is gonna start collecting dust.

Also, I really enjoyed Games Done Quick. If you aren't familar, at was a week long 24 hour event featuring speed runners on twitch and it was glorious. So many retro classic games being beaten with lots of secrets and tricks being revealed. Watched a lot of ot surprisingly and actually made me feel like speed running a game now.

Yeah, PSN games are still too expensive and I wish they would just pull an Xbox One and say streaming isn't necessary, here's some PS3 games.

But I've been playing a ton of Rocket League. Best free game ever.

The small gaming library is going to cause me to neglect the console like I did with WiiU, although I'm impressed with the hardware, I have very specific tastes in games that PS4 isn't really offering right now. The recent game sale made me want to fire up my PS3 or PSVita actually. They need to bring emulation to PS4 pronto!

I haven't found that true for myself, because I'm at least somewhat interested in most of my PS+ games. Plus, Netflix, the ability to look something up on YouTube while playing a game if I have to and now maybe Vue. Also, I'd like to rent some PS3 games I missed out on by skipping last gen, but I'm not sure about that given the spotty Internet.

What are your specific tastes?

I didn't mean to trash the system. I just have a backlog on PC right now and I like quirky Japanese games or traditional JRPGs and horror type games. So games like The Evil Within, Dying Light, Bloodborne, FF15, etc are high on my list of interersts, but if they're available on PC, then I'll play them on PC. I also really like the odd indie release on PC. KIngs Quest is really great right now, as is Odullus-The Dark Call, Victor Vran, Guild of Dungeoneering- and so on.

Tell me more about the Youtube thing? You just jump out of a game and into Youtube to search for game secrets huh? Does this close out your game? Interesting?

I don't care if you do or don't trash the system. My tastes are just different, I wasn't mad. lol Are you excited for Until Dawn? I believe that's a horror PC exclusive. And I have a laptop that can run 360/PS3 type games well enough, but the PS4 is definitely more reliable as a games system, so that makes sense why we'd feel differently.

As for the YouTube app on PS4, it just suspends my game while I use the YouTube app. I was switching between Arkham Knight and YouTube yesterday to see how to earn a couple trophies. Which I swear I should have, but I didn't get them .... most frustrating.

Yes. Until Dawn is my type of game, and actually so was Alien Isolation, which feels similar although I thought AI dragged on for too long.

If Dragon Quest XI comes to PS4, I'm getting one.

It's coming to 3DS too. DQ11 is supposed to be some kind of MineCraft game right?

I think there's another DQ game that's the minecraft one. I'm not sure though. I also heard the 3DS version will be a little different from the console one. I've heard that they're kinda going back to a style more like DQVIII with turn-based battles and such. I'm all over that!

It does look like a nifty console and i'm certainly interested in the niche Japanesse games coming, but i'm still not interested in buying a PS4. Mostly due to lack games and the fact that much of the multiplataform ones are also on Steam.

I received the PS4 as a gift, and honestly would have held off on purchasing one until at least a new price drop or redesign. It ain't bad, but could use new games.

I don't buy much on PSN but I did buy a Chess game that was I think $4 during the first week of the summer sale. The physical version is $20 so this is my version of a rental. I really can't recommend a game but the PS4 is full of a lot of remasters so if you haven't played one of those games you could check those out.

It's just that the PSN sales aren't very cheap. I would love to get all the RE games or FF games for flash sale like Steam, but it's like $10-$15 for classic games and still almost full price for Indies and AAA. I guess Steam spoiled me.

Yeah the pricing overall is a little steep and that's the one thing I liked about the X-Box Store was that there was always sales on games I might have missed or want to try for a couple of bucks. I don't think we will see anything as close to Steam sales on consoles.
