Tcheco in The Castle of Lucio looks neat. Makes me think of River City Ransom.

Hey folks, just another blog with links to reviews I’ve been writing lately over at GamerDad.com. Please click on the links and read the reviews and maybe even post a comment or two here or there if you can. Maybe even a Facebook like. I’d really appreciate it.
A couple of years ago, an online web comic site called Shifty Look started creating comics and even animated cartoons starring obscure Namco game characters! Some were actually pretty good, but I always wondered how they were making money with it. Well apparently they didn’t make enough because sadly, Shifty Look closed its doors a while back. Last year, I wrote about two hardcover books they published featuring comics based on Bravoman and Wonder Momo. Well this year, Udon published a book based on their Katamari comic. I’m kind of glad they still did that, even though Shifty Look closed down. They did a good job keeping with the themes of the game in the comic, and featured a lot of minor characters like the girl who could feel the cosmos, Jumboman, and the other cousins. Only problem I had with the book is that they made the word balloons look like how they do in the game, which is a cool idea, but they were hard to read in the book. I think it probably worked better online. Anyway, I took a few pictures of the book, so check it out if you’re interested.
I’ll save my opinions of the flick when I write my movie blog, but this is another Marvel pinball table by the folks at Zen Studios. It’s a pretty decent table. My favorite part is shrinking this giant blue orb in a basket on the table by hitting it with the pinball. When it gets small enough, it falls through the basket and you get a double multiball mode that’s easy to access!
Formula Cartoon All-Stars (iPad)
This is a top-down racer like Super Sprint featuring Cartoon Network stars from shows like Clarence, Steven Universe, Johnny Bravo, PowerPuff Girls, Flapjack, Adventure Time, Gumball, Regular Show, Uncle Grandpa, Ben 10, Dexter’s Laboratory, and even some I don’t recognize! Unfortunately, the game isn’t very fun and the graphics look like they could’ve been done on the N64.
This is a simple obstacle course 2-D platformer with retro-styled graphics. The gimmick is that you can teleport a short distance to make higher jumps and go through certain colored walls. Up to four players can go at it together. Nothing special, but fairly decent.
In this 2-D platformer puzzler, you play as two aliens who are on some sort of reality show where they must solve puzzles and overcome obstacles. But one of them drinks the fizziest soda in the galaxy and gets a little gassy, filling his spacesuit with air. Luckily the two aliens are tethered by a cord, so they can switch who gets the gassy suit. The alien without the gassy suit can jump higher and fit through small spaces, but can also use the alien in the gassy suit to bounce higher. You can play single player and switch between the two aliens, or you can play with a friend, which makes things a lot easier. After I played it in two player mode, I didn’t want to go back to single player.
And finally, my friend reviewed a couple of games for me. This one is a 3-D action game that is supposedly based on a Brazilian legend about a girl who climbs a tower to defeat a dragon. I’ve heard about the game in other places, too, so maybe it’ll be popular enough to get console releases, too.
Reader Review: Tcheco in The Castle of Lucio (PC)
Another Brazilian game, this one is some kind of quirky 2-D action game my friend felt compelled to review as well. Sounds pretty weird, from what I can tell.
And that’s all for now. Thanks for reading my reviews and posting comments on them and my blogs. I really appreciate it. Oh, and could you please pray for my mom this coming week as she goes to have day surgery on her nose and sinuses. It’s nothing serious or anything, but I always worry anyway. Next time on my blog, I’ll go over the movies I watched this summer in theaters! That’s all for now! Later! --Cary
