Played Some Games On A Lazy Weekend

Good morning Pixlbit! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. I decided to camp out in front of the TV, in hopes of trying to play through some stuff I own, and I did a little bit of that. I would have gotten through a whole lot more if random napping, and having a mini marathon of Ray Donovan Season 2 and random episodes of Archer didn’t get in the way. I didn’t knock out any games from Mount Backlog but I did manage to squeeze in some playing time with some 3DS Mii games and made some progress in a couple of other games.

Lego Jurassic World – PS4: There was a lot of stop and go playing of this game during the week, but I really got the ball moving on Saturday when I played through the first movie Jurassic Park. There wasn’t a lot of content for the first flick and it felt short, but the game did hit on all the iconic points of the flick with the usual Lego comedy thrown in. I don’t remember much of the second film so that should be a pleasant surprise to play.

NBA 2K15 – PS4: Apparently I have a low approval rating by the owner (21%) which I don’t get considering last season I got four first round picks, this season another four, and the team is currently sitting around 30-1. I wonder if the rating will go up once I win a World Title. Anyways the Milwaukee Bucks have become the Runnin’ Bucks and they are just going through the league.

Driver San Francisco – 360: I’m currently stuck on a mission where I have to defuse 10 bombs under moving trucks (think the first car scene in the original Fast and the Furious) where you drive under the trailer of a big rig in 2 minutes. I thought it was a difficult feat but after watching YouTube you can get it done with 30 seconds to spare. I’ll give it a go later on today.

Geometry Wars 3 – Vita: I’m making my way through the adventure mode and the game is fun. The couple of friends who have it haven’t played more than two levels, which is a shame because I think it’s a fun game.

Tetris Ultimate – Vita: I am so glad I didn’t spend the full retail on the physical game. The screen doesn’t translate well to the Vita’s widescreen space and there is a lot of wasted screen real estate. There could have been more to this game and I think at the $6 price point I was better off spending $4 to play it on the PS4 than have it on the go.

Pokemon Omega Ruby – 3DS: I started getting into this installment of Pokemon. Since realizing that I can’t use my high level characters I might as well build up the lower ones and have stocked my collection with level 9 and 10 Pokemon from my previous collection. I’m still sticking with naming my Pokemon after rappers and I might be close to my first gym.

Ultimate Angler – 3DS: I started playing this game last week with the seven or so Mii’s I met via StreetPass. I like this game because its simple, short and there isn’t a lot to it other than slap some bait on the hook and pull in a fish. I still have a bunch of Mii’s from another session of StreetPass from Friday to use so I’ll get more fishing in, trying to land the big fish.

Battleground Z – 3DS: I think the whole Zombie thing is stupid, and the reason why I have this game is because it was bundled with Ultimate Angler. I tried out the first level and its an easy beat’em up where you save the Mii’s you meet and they give you weapons.

TrackMania – DS: I tried a little bit of TrackMania and it turns out it really isn’t a racing game but a game where you race on short tracks trying to beat three other cars. I was hoping for more of a conventional racing game but this isn’t it. I’m probably not going to play any more of this game.

Fighting games – iPad: In Injustice I unlocked Regime Hawkgirl awhile back

And currently in Mortal Kombat I am 65% finished with the Mileena Challenge

I could have easily finished the challenge in one sitting but since I have a lot of time to play through it but it looks like I’ll be able to finish it this week.

For WWE Immortals I’m almost done with the newest John Cena challenge. This one I should rush through because it ends tomorrow.

Marvel Future Fight – iPad: I finished the most recent 7 day check-in to unlock Yellowjacket

Since I have a new group of three fighters

I’ve gone back to the first level to level these guys up. So far I am around level 9 for each character and once I get them to level 17 like my other characters I will remove Daredevil and add Captain America to this group because then my lineup with be all two star characters. I still play one or two levels a day.

The Simpsons Tapped Out – iPad: Since the current Springfield Heights game is going on (I’m currently watching my iPad so I can finish making yoga mats to upgrade a parking structure to its max level) I’ve unlocked some characters as well as moving to Level 56

Lurleen makes an appearance. She’s actually a character in the game in you buy a special bar.

My premium unlocked characters with special jobs

It’s been a couple of weeks since I rebuilt my Springfield and I still have a lot to do to get it back to a point where I’m satisfied with it. There will be more changes.

This morning I saw an article on Operation Sports about the next Need For Speed game. The article mentions that the game will be always online. As someone who has played a couple of games this year where its always connected I’m tired of this trend in gaming. Its fine for folks to always want to play in an area where you’re always connected to what your friends are doing but having other people in the same area as I am when I’m trying to complete solo challenges is a pain. I’ve had these yahoos in The Crew crash into me when I was trying to complete challenges and when I didn’t accept their requests to help them in their missions I was targeted by them. Online is fine, but I really hate the people who try and ruin that experience. This has soured me on always-online games.

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off to get some work done and drink lots of water because today its going to be a hot one here in my little section of Southern California. Have a good week!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

every time you mention NBA2K I really want to get it but I just never get around to it. Maybe during the next steam sale or when I finally buy a PS4 I'll get one.

I've never been able to get into a Pokemon game but I keep on promising myself I'm going to try. They come out yearly, right?  Maybe I'll ask for it for xmas and try it out.

that red Hulk looks freaking pissed.

Its a fun game and the current one has some TV show you can watch (never watched it) along with various game modes. I'm currently playing the My GM mode where you are the GM and every win gives you some in game gold that can be used in the game to purchase upgrades for your created character in a be a pro mode (I forgot the actual name) or save it up to buy the team you are a GM of.

I think its every other year. From the two I've played its basically the same game but its fun being able to use the 3DS App Pokemon Bank to transfer Pokemon between various games.
