Quick Hits: Straight Outta Pixlbit

Yep if you have a Facebook account you’ve probably have seen tons of these pictures, but I couldn’t help myself especially since the movie Straight Outta Compton is officially in theaters today (my local theaters doesn’t do midnight showings.) Good morning Pixlbit, how has the week been treating you? It’s been interesting here. Apparently when we had a random thunder storm last week and the lower end of the valley had crazy wind storms that took down the metal power lines, the weather folks said there was a tornado that touched down and took down those power lines. Kind of odd but I guess it can happen. You all had that science class where you talked about that. Anyways let’s get started with Quick Hits!

Chris’ Adventures With Hulu

A couple of days ago I got an email from Hulu saying my email was changed. This was funny considering I stopped my account right before I got my WWE account (I only need one streaming service, and I really like NXT and Pay Per Views) so I checked my bank statements and sure enough it has been going on for a couple of months. Thank goodness the folks at Hulu are awesome at customer service had this resolved within minutes, apologized and then not only refunded my money but sent me an email a couple of days later to make sure everything was fine.

Chris Watches

Big Brother: Its kind of interesting to see all the deals that are going on in the live feeds. How people react when they have information, and how the quiet people in the house are now showing their true colors. I don’t get how someone like the Poker Player, Vanessa makes her money based on stats and instinct can take everything so personal in the game. I think Meg will be in the finals because she lays low, seems like she has no idea what’s going on but I think its all part of her game. Everyone else has already shown what they want. Last night was the double eviction night where two people are kicked out of the house…and placed in the jury house where they are still sequestered but from what people have said they get to have DVDs now. They’re also in a mansion so at least they get their own rooms.

Ray Donovan: I’m really digging this show. I like the whole cleaner guy who fixes problems for people while having a ton of his own. The whole storyline about rich girl bringing the San Diego football team to Los Angeles is apropos.

Pre-season Football: Sorry folks as much as people like to read way too much into it, I don’t watch. I call it pretend football because after the first series the starters are out, and the coaches run bland playbooks with the folks they want to see how they play and who will make the team. There’s an importance to this but it is just not my thing to watch. In a couple of weeks college football will be back.

Chris Listens To…

I’m back on my news radio kick. I shut off iTunes for a couple of days just to listen to random news radio from LA, Honolulu, and San Francisco (I love the traffic updates on the various bridges)

While standing in the shower last week I came up with the idea of sorting my music in radio themed playlists. I started tackling this feat earlier this week and it’s a daunting task. I’ve decided to instead of tackling everything at one time, I should go through each smart playlist I have and sort from there. Hit one playlist per sitting. Speaking of smart playlists, this is by far my favorite feature on iTunes. I like it because I can fill out the grouping section of the songs tag with the corresponding smart playlist and all my songs are included. I would do this with my radio theme playlist but I want to switch out songs from time to time.

I need to start thinking of songs for my September playlist on my phone. I’m starting to get tired of the current lineup. I’m thinking I should change it up once a month.

Chris Takes Pictures

I started playing with saturations a couple of days ago and I thought it would be fitting to use this with some of the plants because of the whole drought situation*

*quick rant: Ok all of a sudden everyone is in fear of the drought. When I was in school we were taught how to save water. It’s not hard to shut the water off when you’re brushing your teeth, soaping up your hands, water plants early in the morning/at night, install a drip system etc. If everyone just took these steps YEARS ago we’d be in a better situation.

Anyways going back to random shots I took

Here is a little plant that used to be really green and I think had flowers.

These are some neighbors that decided to go get some lunch yesterday

They live under one of the A/C units and I think they eat the crickets.

And here is another shot of them roaming around the back

My last shot is a practice shot. I was checking out how pictures would look if I took shots of my caps for my Snupps Account.

This has been my day-to-day cap for the past week. Not an Orioles fan but this cap is comfy. The crown is now slouched so it isn’t high (I’m too afraid of doing the wetting the tops of new caps to get this look)

Thanks for checking out my pictures and putting up with my rant!

Randoms

This was last night, at 10:30pm

WTF! This weekend we are staring at a heat advisory as the temps will hit 117. Good thing I will most likely be at the beach.

Looks like I won’t be able to wear this shirt for a bit

I do find it funny it says Fight With Honor

I forgot to post this when it showed up on my Instagram feed. I really dig this picture

Love my Aztecs and grown to love the Padres.

Pickups

Games

I don’t think I bought any games this week, I’ve been too busy with the new Simpsons Update (monorail…Monorail…MONORAIL!) but from Pokemon this guy was the special gift

Since I only have two badges it won’t listen to my trainer but I’m still working on getting those badges.

How Wheels

First random trip to Target and I found a Batmobile and a Tesla. I will probably give the Batmobile to my little cousin because I already have a couple in this color, and some folks seem to like the Tesla so I grabbed one. I went looking for the Hovering DeLorean but the cars look like the collector guy went through them.

While at Walmart looking for the Back to the Future Hovering DeLorean I found these cars

The truck is going to my cousin, and I don’t know why the Charger is a Brazilian Charger (you cars folks help me out) but it looks cool and its more flashy than the other Charger I have.

Plastic People

Target has Oyo Blind Boxes on Clearance for $3, which is the same price as Lego blind bags so I decided to grab three

Yep a guy in Southern California got three Pittsburgh Pirates figures. I like to think that somewhere in a Pittsburgh Target a guy is bummed because he got three Angels or Padres figures. I got two Andrew McClutchen figures and a Jason Grilli (Grilled Cheese was an Angel for part of last season) As you can see one of the McClutchen figures is missing an arm. The package came with three hands and only one arm section. I might grab a couple today, but we shall see.

Ok Pixlbit I need to go find a backpack. The one I bought last year, the stupid strap is about to fall off. Apparently when I took it to Hawaii having a light Macbook Pro, iPad, candy, a 3DS, and a Vita was too much. Anyways that’s what I get for buying a backpack because it had the Jordan Jumpman on it. Have a good weekend Pixlpeeps!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

Ok so for this week’s song I decided to go with this track

It came out right around the time I was in high school, and I just moved to a new house and before all the furniture came I decided to sleep in the dining room (I have no idea why.) I had this tape of one long mix that was played on the radio and this was on it. I completely forgot about the song until Grand Theft Auto San Andreas had it.

Nice pics man! I really enjoy your photography.

I really want to see the Straight Outta Compton film. I fucking loved NWA growing up, and it seems like those guys would have some interesting stories to tell.

And yeah... that reminds me, GTA SA had a bitchin' soundtrack!

Thanks man appreciate it!

Yeah I want to check the film out but I'm waiting for the hype to calm down a bit. I find it hilarious that police in various cities want to add security for this film. The majority of folks are there to see the story of the rappers they grew up, not get into fights.

San Andreas was such a good game to pop in, listen to the various radio stations and drive around the game.

I don't watch pre-season either, except when former SFA Lumberjack Gus The Bus Johnson is starting and makes a TD.

... and then has a separated shoulder. Frown

I saw that he scored on Twitter. I may have been casually following the game on Twitter. I do find it funny that a handful of Charger fans were gloating about a "huge" win this is. The Bolts need to move already.

Sorry to hear about his injury. If anything The Cowboys need all the help they can get at Running Back.

I downloaded Compton on Apple Music. I've listened to a bit but not much. Yay lizards! I love reptiles.

I like the album, and it hasn't been pulled off the phone or the iPod. Now I have to check out the film.

The lizards are cool neighbors. They don't bother anyone, show up when nobody is outside, and I'm assuming take care of little insects.

I fooled with that smart playlist thing in iTunes a little bit. It seems really cool if I spend some time with it.

It makes life easier. Combine that with the star rating and I can group everything.

I recently got that Batmobile, different but pretty neat. As for Pokemon, the less badges you have, the less likely high level Pokemon will obey you. Just a heads up. Didn't know there was a Hovering DeLorean HW car, only have the normal one. May need to keep my eye out for it, and the Tesla car.

Its an interesting Batmobile design, and I do like the color of this car compared to the earlier release which had hints of red. Yeah I saw the DeLorean on Reddit. The regular one was before I started buying them but now I need to find that hover version. I think local collector guy is buying all of them up.

Yep I found that out the hard way with my Pokemon early on in the game. I just need to find a way to the next town and get badge number five and I'll be rolling.
