Rocksmith & Shantae

Both are on sale on PS4 until 9/14 for Playstation's 20th anniversary.

Definitely getting Shantae for $3, but is Rocksmith worth it? The DLC list is huge and I'm hoping it at least comes with its own soundtrack so I'm not paying $3 for every song? Already wondering about the cable cost.

I already know how to play guitar, but it seems like a fun thing to have and will get me back into it and better with timing and accuracy I think.

Anyone got an opinion?

Rocksmith really isn't that good, but Shantae sure is!  Which Shantae is it?

Shantae's Revenge. Why do you say Rocksmith isn't that good?

According to my brother Jeff, he says that Rocksmith teaches you how to play the game, not how to play guitar.  After watching him play for a bit, I can agree.

Hmmm ... yeah, when I watched the trailer for Arctic Monkeys Are U Mine it seemed like easy mode was just guitar hero but hard mode was the actual song. Also, I already know how to play that song.

Thanks for the input!

I'm playing Shantae's Pirate curse right now, and it's fucking phenomenal. A bit on the short side, but it plays so well and is just so damn charming. I've heard revenge is pretty great too. Hopefully you'll enjoy.

Don't know about Rocksmith. Have been wanting to get into it for ages but it looks costly.

Might actually be Pirate's Curse. I'll be honest, I just saw it was Shantae for $3 and said "yeah I'm getting that," since Carey and others rave about it and I'm interested anyway.

Yeah, the cost is the main thing keeping me hesitant about Rocksmith. Looked like an automatic buy until I saw DLC list and wondered if it had any songs at all that came with it.

I've always wanted to play a Shantae game, but never was willing to spend the money. This is the perfect opportunity.  Thanks for the heads up.

They're pretty cheap on Steam too.

I haven't played either but I am interested in the concept of Rocksmith using your own guitar.

I am too, but I decided against it because of what Cary said about it teaching you the game instead, the fact I already know how to play guitar and could just try matching to a metronome or a recording instead of buying the game, the extra cost of DLC songs and the Rocksmith cable, and the fact I could use some of that $30 towards a new amplifier.
