Yeah, $17 isn't too bad for a game, glad you had fun. Don't worry, the girls I've dated haven't been huge gamers either. lol
Fun With Runner 2

I've mentioned my fiancèe a few times in previous blog posts, but one thing that I've never mentioned about her is that she is not a gamer whatsoever.
She understands how much I like video games, she supports my hobby, and she is totally cool with my being into it all, but she herself just doesn't get into playing video games like I do. That isn't to say that she doesn't play them ever. She does like playing platformers, here and there. She grew up playing games with her brother, who had a NES, Sega Genesis and Nintendo 64.
We used to play some games on the PS2 and Wii when we first started dating, but kind of casual fun games, like Guitar Hero or Dance Dance Revolution. She got me New Super Mario Bros. Wii when it came out and we played through most of that together. Taking turns, of course, because playing that game co-op can ruin relationships!
When I got my Wii U we got into some of the Nintendo Land attractions together, but pretty briefly. We haven't sat down and played many games lately with the wedding looming in the not-so-distant future.
Last night, however, I downloaded Punch-Out!! on the Wii U Virtual Console service. If you aren't aware of it, they're having a monthly sale commemorating the launch of the Famicom in Japan, and are releasing a different game each month for 30 cents. The Wii U VC hasn't formerly launched yet, so these are the only games you can currently get for it. The prices will of course be substantially larger when it finally launches, but for the brief window you can snag these classics for basically nothing.
Anyway, this has nothing to do with Punch-Out!! except to say that I was playing it and she came downstairs to where the Wii U is set up. I was trying to think of a game we could play when I realized that I'd downloaded the demo for Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien from the eShop a few days earlier and forgot to try it.
I booted it up and told her it would be a game she'd like. I was kind of fibbing though, because I've actually never played a Bit.Trip game! I didn't really know what to expect, except what I'd seen in trailers for the game on YouTube.
We sat down and played the whole demo, replaying several levels for Perfect scores, for over an hour. We had a blast. When she found out it would be $17 (tax included) to download it, she told me she didn't want me to spend so much on it, so we decided to watch some TV instead. I'm going to go back and download it tonight, though. We had such a good time, and $17 isn't really that much, especially to have that kind of fun together.
I guess what this is all about is finding great games like Runner 2 and the memories you can have with your friends and loved ones playing them. It feels pretty good.
Thanks for reading,
