A Celeron instead of an i7... dear lord. I hope for your own mental health that you don't run into any more problems.
Trials and Triumphs: A PC builders blog

Oh Lord, the last couple of days have been testing I can tell you (and I will).
As you know I've been busy building my own gaming rig, just patiently waiting for my parts to arrive, well I had two part left to collect and this is the status of my ordeal.
The Motherboard.
About 2 weeks ago I had missed my delivery, okay I can wait for a redelivery but when it never came (5 days later) a tracked it down to a depot. Several miles east of me. So I tried to arrange it be delivered to a post office near me... Except I did it twice and both times it told me it was scheduled to come but never did on the expected delivery days.
After I had had read the details online regarding my package (inset joke here), it had came apparent that the "suggestion" to collect at the depot had not changed which I only noticed after the 3rd time of booking.
On the 3rd booking, I wanted to have a semblance of faith it arrived but as the day came? I was like "sod it!" and forced my self to travel. The depot was south East of London to my North East. Now if you know anything about London you know getting from one place to another is never straight forward, I needed to take 3 different trains for about 2-3 hours to get to a place I haven't been to since I was 5 (which I was sorta okay with) I knew the route because it's on the way to the area London Comic-cons are held.
I explored a little got my package, ate and left. But then heres when typical London public transportation reared it's ugly head.
It took me 3 and more hours to get back home, I'll spare you the details but suffice to say, I had to travel the overground in circles was to cancelled trains, Late arrivals and closed stations.
Exhausting, I nearly burst into flames in frustration.
Interlude - USB replacements
My package for a new usb 3.0/audio port module to insertion the front part of my case had arrived for my case. Me being dumb I assumed it would be the same size but it turned out to be slightly to small and with the screws, would eventually push out of place.
If I had a soldering iron, it would be and easy swap but i spent enough on travel that day.
After some plier work and a larger washer (those little disks or rectangular slates with holes for skews to secure, I used rectangular) it's now secure. It looks budget as hell but DIY!
After this, I fit the Motherboard, the RAM, the fans and power cables to the drives and such... O, did I suffer a shock to the system.
The processor
Man, did this take me aback. I had bought this processor weeks ago, the I7-4790K, I had taken it out of the box ONCE. And hadn't looked at it since I got my Motherboard, so imagine my surprise when the thing didn't fit.
I was obviously confused as this processor was suited for my Motherboard... But I didn't have the right processor, it was a different one all together.
Yep I had paid for the wrong processor in the right package, if I hadn't been soo tired I'd be furious. I remember the first time I open the freshly sealed box the underside was exposed to the viewing hole, so weeks later a properly inspect the thing only then did I notice the watermark.
CELERON DUAL-CORE
Somehow I had gotten a Dual-Core processor in my brand new i7 box. I still don't believe it, this supposedly enjoyable experience is turning into a mess. I'm in the process of getting a replacement or/and a refund and my actual purchase will arrive soon.
I'm so close to being finished, yet I have these set backs and I'm damn near exhausted. I've got the OS left now, i'l probably just make a USB installer, seems easier (and faster maybe).
This is V saying "Bloody 'ell..."
