My only thought is this:
Super Mario Bros 2

Well I've been playing Super Mario Maker endlessly. I'm totally hooked. Still Super Mario Maker doesn't include everything a Mario fan could hope for. In fact there are a few things that seem to be missing. So with that in mind is there a possibility Nintendo could pump some DLC out for it? They certainly can! With that said here are the top 5 things I would like to see added to this great game!
5. More Suits!
As you all know there are quite a few powerups in Super Mario Maker as well as Mystery Amiibo skins. However when you have a style such as I don't know...Super Mario Bros. 3...how do you not include these three power ups? Frog suit, Hammer Bros, and Tanooki were staple power ups in SMB3. I also have to wonder where the Ice Flower, penguin Suit, and Acorn power ups in New Super Mario Bros. U. I'm not sure it would be too difficult. I figure they could do it a a shake option. Shake the fire flower and boom ice flower. Propeller hat? shake and it becomes an acorn. We could always use some more power ups! Or even the biggest troll of all...the poison mushroom!
4. More Enemy Variety
Let's talk about missing enemies. I know there was one I was sad not to see...that's good ol' chargin' chuck. Chuck is sorely missed along with many other Super Mario World baddies. No Reznor, Blargg, Dino Rhino, Sumo Bro, mechakoopa, porkupuffer, or rex. And that is just Super Mario World enemies that didn't make it. You also have fan favorites like the Angry Sun and Big Bertha not in. A giant cheep cheep ain't the same Nintendo! Not the same!
3. Slopes/Vertical Stages/Wraparound
Let's take a look at slopes in Super Mario. They've been apart of the series for quite awhile now. Especially considering that SMW, SMB3, AND NSMBU all have slopes! I realize that it would require programming and animation. But we need slopes! Also in terms of vertical stages everyone remembers jumping around on buzzy beetles through the sky in SMB3. Or even flying high in SMW. Even NSMBU had stages that did a scrolling vertical stage. Intricate wraparound pipe mazes as well as design could go a long way!
2. Time limit extension/checkpoints
This is pretty self explanatory. People are going to make hard, hard stages. We need checkpoints! Sometimes 500 seconds also doesn't seem like enough either. We should definitely be able to extend it even to 999 seconds or an infinite time.
1. More stage variety/World hubs.
So there are a few themes missing from SMM. No beach, desert, desert cave, forest/jungle, sky/mountaintop, snow, ice cave, volcano, and lava caves. That's at least 11 themes! Not to mention the one thing people want is to have their own overworld with levels in them. Want to make your own World 1? How about an evil Bowser style Lava zone?
These are just a few things that hopefully get implemented either by DLC or updates. Also is there anything you'd like to see that wasn't mentioned? Leave a comment! It's always appreciated!
Man, if they include the poison mushroom, the Kaizo potential for levels would go beyond the roof.
Since I still don't have the game, I can't theorize on any future inclusion i'd like to see, so i'll just say you have very nice suggestions. Maybe Nintendo can release various assest packs that focus on especific titles (like one for the remaining SMW assests).
I think we'll see DLC packs in the future. I bet we'll see a Japan Super Mario Bros. 2 skin since it's so similar to the first game, and they can just add the poison mushroom and red piranha plants and that would just about do it. I'd LIKE to see a US Super Mario Bros. 2 update, but the gameplay is so different in that one I don't know if it would work. You have a lot of good ideas that I bet they can implement as well, though.
Did you see that there's going to be a Super Mario Maker stage in Smash Bros.?
I did see the SMM stage! It looks awesome. I like how it always changes. Honestly I would be bummed if all they did was the lost levels. I really don't think it would be hard to implement putting the ice flower as a shake option in the flower power up. Also even when you do get everything there is a whole row at the bottom. I hope that it gets filled with enemies or something. They could even expand it.
