Well hello Pixlpeeps! It is Friday and in a couple of hours I will be sitting in an airport getting ready to spend the weekend in Las Vegas. The only gambling I will be partaking in is a mean game of Bingo and maybe slipping a few quarters into the slots at the airport on the way out. One of my friends from College is getting married and it will be a nice excuse to spend time with some friends. During my trip I am planning to take pictures of some of the sights of Vegas (hopefully the strip at night) and maybe some views from what I call the big ass Ferris wheel (The High Roller). I’m also planning on stopping by the Lego Store to see if there are any Las Vegas Exclusives.
This is my carry on bag. This bag is sturdier than the one I took to Hawaii last year that ripped. Of course I’m not bringing the laptop and a ton of candy. Let’s check out what’s in my carry on bag!
In the small pocket I have all the cables, power bricks, and other random goodies I need to charge the various techy items I’m bringing. Not pictured on the side pockets I have batteries and headphones
The main pocket is home to my camera bag, the Vita (blue case), the 3DS (red pouch), and behind it there is a pocket for my iPad.
Starting from the left is my iPad. I bought Furious 7 a couple of days ago and it came with a digital copy so that lives on the iPad. I also have a word search game that I’ve been playing the heck out of which will be part of my entertainment options. Below the iPad are my two battery packs. Each pack can fully charge my phone twice, which is handy. The middle row is my headphones. The top is my wired Tour 2 headphones. I will use these with my Vita, and backups for my phone. Under them are my Bluetooth headphones I will use with my phone when wandering around. On the bottom is my V-Moda Crossfade LP’s. I will be using these on the airplane with my iPod and headphone amp. The far right row is my 3DS, which I am bringing just so I can get some new Mii’s. Hopefully Las Vegas will give me some interesting folks. Last week’s Playstation sale I picked up Metal Gear Peace Walker for the PSP, and Hot Shots Golf for the PSP. I love this version of HSG, and I never played Peace Walker so I’m excited to give that a try. For the 3DS and Vita I am only bringing one physical game. On 3DS its Super Crosswords and on Vita it’s the Sonic All Star Racing. On the bottom is my iPod Touch with Headphone Amp, and my phone.
Chris Watches…
So I finally caught Jersey Boys, and I have to say the movie isn’t bad. It was an interesting story, and they sold me on getting a Four Seasons Greatest Hits album. Good thing Barnes & Noble has a bunch in their $4.99 section.
I cancelled my CBS subscription because the finale of Big Brother is next week. The final three are interesting enough to watch the live feed, even if I have the feed until October. I will probably binge watch Scorpions, and any other random CBS property that isn’t available on Netflix.
For a little bit I was waking up around 2am and I’ve been watching GI Joe, and Transformers. Thank goodness the past couple of days I haven't woken up to watch. Its not that I don't like watching those cartoons, but I really like sleep.
I saw that Ronda Rousey is going to be in a new Road House flick. I do love the original and it will be interesting to see how she will play Dalton’s daughter. Pain don’t hurt.
Chris Listens To…
I’ve listened to half of the CDs I bought in August. There are maybe one or two albums I bought that are complete trash. I filled up an old iPod with songs from the August Playlist and I play it while I’m sitting playing random games on the iPad or while in the shower.
I saved my podcast from this week for my flight. I will probably listen to them while sitting in the airport. I’m trying the Jim Ross’ The Ross Report, which is a wrestling podcast. It’s funny I am trying out more wrestling podcasts than video game podcasts but as of today I listen to two video game podcasts and two wrestling podcasts.
Pickups
Games
Ok so I bought Metal Gear Peace Walker ($6.00), Hot Shots Golf Open Tee ($.80 cents) but I also picked up Tomba ($2.50), Alpha Mission ($.60), and Ikari Warriors ($.60 cents) from the Playstation Sale.
While walking around the rarely visited GameStop after lunch I found a couple of $2 DS games
I wish you could use the shoulder buttons on Super-bikes but it looks like I’ll just have to get used to hitting A and B. I couldn’t remember if I already have Trauma Center and I don’t think I have updated Backloggery in a week or two so I took a chance and picked up a copy.
Yesterday I saw that there was a bunch of PS2 games on the GameStop website for 70% off and I had a cart filled with 25 games, and a couple of memory cards for about $25. I decided against hitting the purchase button. It’s crazy but Lego Dimensions is going to be expensive and I really want to play that along with the add-on sets.
Music
If you folks like Jason Derulo, his latest album is free on Google Play. Last week I bought the big single from this album on iTunes. I’m currently a little bitter.
From the mom & pop store
Yeah I really couldn’t name a Dan Fogelberg solo song but I do know some of the songs. I think this album will be a lot of “hey that’s the name of that song” type album. 98 Degrees because well Invisible Man was a good single. I saw them rehearsing at the Super Bowl Experience back in ’98. I think I have all their CDs now and this will go with the shame section of Boy Bands in my library.
More Billy Joel, and a U2 CD I don’t have. I think I am down to maybe five U2 Studio Albums left before I have their discography.
I bought a bunch of Rihanna CDs. Each CD has a couple of songs I know that I can add to my various playlists.
Toys
At the trashy Walmart I found some Hot Wheels I haven’t seen before
I guess they’ve been there for a bit because I couldn’t find any other vehicles other than the BAT and Bat-Pod. I have a Bat-Pod but I think the one I have has Batman riding it.
While at this Walmart they didn’t have any good Lego on clearance but I found more of the Stack Down sets that are still full price at Toys R Us.
This is the Brock Lesnar Entrance. The set comes with Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker, and Paul Haymen. I'm assuming this is based off of Wrestlemania XXX when Lesnar defeated Undertaker to end the undefeated streak. I really only waned the figures but I did build the set and then took it apart and placed it in bag, and placed in a plastic tub.
The other set I bought is
The Shield Training Center. This goes along with the Shield Swat Truck I bought a couple of weeks ago. This is another tall set and the one complaint I have is that at the end of the instruction booklet, it gives you areas to place stickers. I feel this is crazy because there are some hard to reach spots and the sticker placement could have been including within in the instructions instead of at the end. I did get three new versions of The Shield.
If I win any cash from Bingo this weekend I will put it towards buying the Battle Royal figure pack which is 10 figures including a new version of The Shield.
Before I go I thought this was funny
Alright Pixlpeeps have a good weekend!
That’s all for now, more later!
-Chris
For this week’s song this is one that popped up on my phone while roaming around a couple of days ago. I really like Megan Washington’s voice, and I don’t know if I already shared this song before, but its too good to not share again. Have a good weekend!

Damn man you are one high tech wired dude!
Jersey Boys is alright. Not one of Eastwood's best. Sad story though. Great music.
Road House is awesome. I need to remember to tell my mom about the new one. I'll say "That girl from expendables 3!"
I could probably go to my grave without owning any wrestling lego sets though.

Hahaha I don't like being somewhere without having something to keep me busy. Especially since last year when I was stuck in an airport for a couple of hours I want something to take my mind of things.
I thought I wouldn't buy wrestling block toys either, but when they go on clearance, I decided what the heck and started. If anything having the figures is the only positives. The actual sets are hit and miss and remind me of the old Tyco building blocks.

Tomba is an awesome game.
I went to Vegas a few years ago. I don't remember a LEGO store, but I did go to an M&M's store that was five stories of M&M's merchandise!

I haven't played Tomba in years, and it was one of those games that was hard to find at a decent price so there was no way I was going to buy it. Thank goodness the digital version is cheaper and will hold me over until I can find a good deal.
I never visited the M&M Store. The last product specific spot I hit while in Vegas is when they had Coca Cola store & tour where you can try a bunch of different versions of Coke around the world.

The figure in front of the Shield training center looks like Harrison Ford to me.

I heard about that through a podcast. That has to be an interesting place.

Those games Pinball Hall of Fame: Williams Collection and PHF: Gottlieb Collection are both excellent and feature tables they have in the real Hall of Fame.

The very best airport layover I ever had was in Vegas. I found myself a seat with a great view of several banks of slot machines and just people-watched for the whole three hours. I can't remember if I wrote down my observations anywhere else but in an email to my sister, though.

People watching at airports is always fun. The last time I flew into McCarren I spent it by feeding the slot machines quarters. The last time I was at the airport for an extended period of time I saw the Cal State Bakersfield Soccer team roaming around LAX, oh and I shared a flight with Pepperdine University Women's Soccer when I left Honolulu.

The only Dan Fogelberg album I own is Twin Sons of Different Mothers with Tim Weisberg but it's a good one.

That's cool. The one I bought is Greatest Hits album so when I have those "hey I know that song" I can see which album it came from and give it a listen.
