Benbo Saggins returns to The Shire!

I didn’t expect to be gone so long. (Again!) To me pixlbit will always be “The Shire” in many respects. Aka, my “true home” here on the internet. Sure, I’ve been adventuring elsewhere and branching out but my “true roots” will always be anchored right here!

Regardless, I got distracted. Not just being caught up in #gamer-gate and making new friends on twitter but also delving a lot deeper into my art and starting to look up more “story tellers” on you tube who regularly read creepy pastas. A “creepy pasta” is simply a scary tale shared online. In that respect they’re like those “nostalgic camp-fire yarns” only instead they’re exchanged with friends on forums and places like reddit. As a horror fan these stories scratch that particular itch I have!

Anyway, Tami contacted me out of the blue on FB and Blake talked to me a bit on Steam reminding me I had been gone for a long time. I realized how much I missed “the old gang” and figured I needed to check in!

Gaming wise I’ve been playing Dark-Siders 2 and Blood Lust: Shadow Hunter. I will say I’m enjoying Dark Siders 2 much more than I thought I would and Shadow-Hunter is a wonderful amalgamation of everything I loved about both VTM: Blood lines and Diablo. Still, I got the ’drawing bug” something fierce and haven’t been able to progress in either game as much as I’ve wanted to.

However, at least I have some works to share with you peeps! Click on them to enlarge & enjoy! (Er,sorry if you’ve already seen this on FB! Regina was nice enough to give me a hardy “thumbs up“ when I showed them off there!)

Yeah Alex,I definitely want to get back in the flow of blogging again! I probably won't bring up GG as much here (Don't want to come off as some pushy reactionary revolutionary,heh!) but gladly will discuss any news dealing with unjust censorship & freedom of creativity when it comes to game developers! I'm still pro-GG,I just realize not everyone enjoys seeing it brought up & I can understand why!

Nice to hear you're still playing games too. I haven't played Darksiders, but maybe someday. I finally bought a PS4 a month ago and have been enjoying Batman and ESO when I get a chance.

Overall I cannot complain,Matt! My art gallery is growing exponentially and as such I'm improving at my craft ever so slightly! (Even if it's at a snails pace. lol.) Eventually I'll come into this gaming generation too though I'm always stubborn about doing so towards the beginning of a new cycle. Guess dinosaurs like myself feel inmidated by that new fangled technology and those more intense polygons that short out our unevolved eyes!!

Both are really good games! They're more visceral and darker takes on the exploration/adventure genre started by games like Zelda. But when I say "dark" I don't mean "edge lord" levels of dark. I would call it "Tim Curry as Lord Of Darkness" levels of dark!

I actually read your blog bromosome,sadly you've been playing games I'm not familiar with. Bloodlust is really good,Blake. I mean it's still a smaller budget game with some jank but that aside,it's very reminiscent of Blood-Lines only there's much more dungeon crawling.

What's up, Ben?! I'm slowing coming back to the site too. Sadly, I my game playing is taking up too much of my time.

One of these days I'll get to Darksiders 2. I got a free digital version on the 360 a while back. I didn't jump into it because I wasn't a big fan of the 1st game.
