I buy so few games to begin with and have grown attached enough to those for nostalgia reasons that I just don't trade in or sell games. Even the ones I own that I don't usually play or even think hold up well I remember, so I've never done the whole trading/selling thing.

Mostly, I go to used game stores or wait for irresistible digital sales. If I buy a game new it means I've been wanting it for a while. Otherwise, it was a present. 

that's kind of how I feel.  I'm a sentimental person, and I even used to keep movie stubs just to remember.  I feel the same way about games.  Knowing I have a title reminds me of the feeling I had playing it. 

I used to keep movie stubs as well. In fact, I still try but inevitably they get lost in the washing machine/dryer ...

my new movie theater prints them on really thin paper and they look like store receipts.  maybe that's why I quit saving them.  

I traded in Destiny (vanilla) for the Taken King Legendary Edition. I thought it was a fair deal, so I don't feel bad about it. 

Before that, it was Battlefield 4 (PS4). Didn't enjoy that game, so I didn't mind getting rid of it.

I heard the multiplayer was crippled by bad networks.

I actually never had problems with the network, I am just more of a Call of Duty person.

Lock's Quest for the DS. Didn't realize just how much I would loathe tower defense games when I bought it. Don't feel bad about getting rid of it at all.

oh, I'm about to play that one. 

If you like tower defense games, it's probably a really cool game. I just hate that genre.

I love tower defense but some of them can get crazy hard like Defense Grid.

yeah I'm not into those either. People sure love them though!

I traded in two copies of Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear. They were worth almost nothing, but it was better than taking up space. Not regretting it one second. I have Jumper [X360] and Hotel Transylvania [DS] ready to trade next time I'm at Gamestop. Won't regret those either. 

damn, never heard of that one. You're right though, if you really don't like the game, why keep it?

Right now I'm considering trading in every game I play once I've played it as complete as I can. I figure I've got enough games to last me a long time, and after that I can always pick something up to replay on Amazon.

inFamous Second Son.  Lego Batman 3 for the Vita.  Resistance Burning Skies.  Need for Speed Rivals.  Killzone Shadow Fall.  SMT IV.

This might be the last collection of games I ever trade in.  #goingdigital

It has been years (like 05 maybe?) that I traded in games. Toys R Us had a crazy 90% off sale and had shopping carts filled with a bunch of stuff and sprinkled in there were games. I bought a bunch of games for like maybe $20. During this time a new GameStop opened by my house and they had a special trade in deal, so I flipped those games and made around $100 in credit. I think the biggest game with trade in value was on the X-Box and it was a fishing game. I got like $20 for it. 

After that I haven't really traded in games

Yep, I hit the perfect storm of a store trying to blow out old stock, and another store trying to build up stock. 

As you know I'm selling games now because I need to, not because I want to so it's a bit of a painful subject for me. The last game I sold on Amazon was Looney Tunes Space Race for Dreamcast. Broke my heart. Before that my LE copy of Bravely Default sold which again was painful but I needed the $133 it brought in,

how much did you pay for the BRavely Default?  

I've never heard of the Looney Tunes game. Was it pretty awesome!

60 bucks. Looney Tunes Space Race was a lot of fun but kinda hard for me because I'd be falling off the track multiple times per race.

I should have kept that stupid collector's edition of Record of Agarest War and not opened it. I bet that crap is worth money now.  It was even offensive to me, and I'm pretty out there.  

I have the Collectors of Agarest War 2 that I've only played the beginning of. It was $24 so I grabbed it. Is it really all that offensive.

I guess it's not THAT offensive.  But the cartoon girls sucking down bananas and having ice cream dripping down their chins is a little stupid, if you ask me.  Maybe I'm just getting prudish in my old age  

Well Sneed nice to hear from you I must say last time I sold games ai sold a bunch of 360 games for  cold hard cash then I also was contemplating selling my 360 before I realized that I got about 40 downloadable games on it and that wouldn't be feasible so there you go

I'm in the same situation with my 360. I'd love to sell it but I have all kinds of digital content for it and it would be like throwing away all the money I spent.

I traded a in box NES with the Power Pad and gun for a Sega Saturn. I did no feel bad about it. I have 4 more.

did the Saturn have light gun games?  Huh.  

the Saturn did have light gun games. Unfortunately I do not have a CRT TV to play them on.

Not sure on that we get a ton of the huge fat tube TVs at my schools there just trashing them would that work .

I don't think I ever traded anything related to video games and the last time something gaming related was sold was my very own Nintendo 64. Other than that, I had given away games, the last ones being some Xbox games I can't remember.

was it tough to sell the Nintendo 64?

Actually, now that I remember a bit, my N64 wasn't sold but also given away, so in the end I haven't traded or sold anything related to gaming yet. But yeah, I think it was kinda tough giving the console away since it was my first one, but my parents had a policy of only one handheld and console, so I had to give it away if I wanted to keep my Xbox (though both co-existed for a while).

I traded in a few SNES games a few months ago to GameStop.  They were all extra copies I had just sitting around.  Super Mario World, A Link to the Past, Mortal Kombat, MKII, and a couple others.  I got about $80 for them.  I don't like trading in games, but I wasn't losing anything, so I gave them to GS for a few bucks.

Pardon my language, but Gamestop tends to bunghole people on game buys. I chose to go to my local retro gamestore to do some trading for things I want.

That's usually the case, but when it came to their recent buying of older retro games, they were pretty fair.  Even if I'd brought the games to a local retro game store, I wasn't going to get much more for them.

That is true. I just do not understand why they do not think retro gaming is a viable option for selling,at least at my gamestops. Do not get me wrong I lime the people that work at my gamestop stores where I shop, I just do not like the corporate part.
