TCGR: Shadow Wars is great. I can't wait to play it again.

Good morning Pixlpeeps! So how many of you good people downloaded the Star Wars Battlefront Beta yesterday?
I didn’t try it until late last night because the download took forever but holy cow, how good does this game look? If it looks this good on a console it is going to be insanely good on PC. It looks like I am going to be picking this game up on release day.
Anyways we shall talk more about it on Monday, so the weekend is here and do you good folks have any plans? I was supposed to go out last weekend but laziness kicked in and I spent most of the weekend in front of a TV watching random football games and tinkering with tablets. When I did go out I hit the usual spots including a couple of places I haven’t visited in a while. You’ll read about it as we get started with Quick Hits With Chris!
Chris Watches…
Green Batman is back on TV. When we last left Green Batman he was saving Starling (Gotham) against Ra’s Al Ghul, coupled up with Felicity, and decided to retire. Well the new season has to be a couple of months later because retired Green Batman is living the normal life (how does his neighbors not know that Oliver Queen is their neighbor) and he is dragged back in to crime fighting. It’ll be interesting to see where this season is headed especially with what is being teased.
Flash: I watched the first episode after watching the season finale last season, and I still don’t know who most of the characters are but it was still entertaining. I saw that a new bad guy Atom Smasher was introduced which I called Fake Bane because he looked like Bane. I guess DC is still sampling from the Dark Knight Trilogy. I hope Supergirl has to fight Cat Woman.
Quantico: I may have added another person to my list of people I think are the terrorist. So far my list is two people. This might be a show I could actually buy the Blu-ray’s when they are released. As for last week's episode, I just want to say that I solved the practice case they were working on before the main character did. I caught on to the clues.
SHIELD: You know what I like about this show other than the constant references to other comic book heroes in their universe? There are sneaky jokes that poke fun at themselves. I do like that they are building up to this massive battle for this season’s finale.
The Affair: This is one show I got hooked on last season on Showtime. The plot of this show is the story of this couple who breaks up because the husband falls for another woman while on a summer vacation at his in-laws home. The show is broken up into two sections where you get the point of view from the husband, and the woman he’s cheating on. This season starts with getting the point of view of the husband, and now the soon to be ex-wife. I like how the clothing changes and how whoever is telling the story they are victim while their counterpart is pure evil. Showtime has the first two episodes online but I’ve been holding off watching the second one until Sunday…I might cave later on tonight if I can’t find anything on TV.
I still need to catch up on Homeland, Below Deck, and a couple of other shows.
Chris Listens To…
I’m still trying out new Podcasts. I tried listening to PS I Love You XOXO, which is a Playstation podcast but the hosts just ramble on and on about things I really don’t care about. After 30 minutes into this 2-hour podcast I was done. It’s just not for me. Another podcast I tried out was actually fun was Ric Flair’s Podcast. Coughs* WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! He interviewed Hulk Hogan and it wasn’t even podcast. It was more like two guys having a conversation and reminiscing about the past and telling stories. Every so often a moderator who chime in to get the conversation moving into different topics but it was fun to listen to. I’m going to subscribe to it.
I listened to a couple of songs on Soundcloud. I never really use my Soundcloud but I like this service especially since I found a couple of singles I like that sound nothing like the things I normally listen to.
As for my regular library, I am almost finished with listening to all the CDs I bought in August. I think I have maybe 300 tracks left to listen to, rate, and add to various playlists.
Earlier this week my iPod decided that it would make things more interesting by forgetting all the music I had on it. I had to reformat and Apple’s prompt said it would only take a minute. It lied. Two hours later I got all my music and podcasts back on the iPod. I saw on Reddit a guy took his old scroll wheel iPod and turned it into an iPod that reads off an SD Card instead of a hard drive. I’d like to try this out, but I need to price out the parts to see if it’s something I want to tackle.
Chris Takes Pictures…
The first picture I took is of last night’s sky
The neighbors must think I’m weird.
The next couple of shots are of the sky when a storm rolled into the valley
The morning of, a bunch of clouds were covering the sky, and the weather was cool…like 80 degrees cool.
This is the sky the next morning after this “storm” aka random sprinkling. I did enjoy the cool weather.
The final picture I took while roaming around
I like how it came out.
Thanks for looking at my pictures!
Randoms
Last week I bought a new bin for my Lego Minifigures. I had a smaller bin for my Star Wars, Comic Book Characters, and Specialty figures like the Simpsons and Scooby Doo, but I needed more room
On the left is the new bin, and on the right is the bin of regular minifigures.
The Sentinel from set 76022 X-Men vs. The Sentinel
The Hulkbuster from set 76031
Here is the bag for my Fake Lego figures I bought from Fake Lego Lady at the Swapmeet. They stay in the bag but live in the new bin.
Another smaller bin of the Lego Microfighters and the double decker couch. I have all of series 1, but only bought the AT-AT and Snowspeeder sets from Season 2.
It looks like Humble Bundle is jumping on the monthly box craze but this one they send you the games to your email. This could be interesting but I don’t use my Steam account enough to justify signing up.
Hobby Lobby has no idea what month it is
I’m not going to complain, but it is still 102 degrees outside so it’s a little odd.
I saw this on Twitter and I thought I’d share it with you folks
All the GI Joe’s ranked. I think Scarlett is too high, and Wild Bill needs to be Top 5. Also why is Super Trooper ranked so low? Do you know how many Flag Points I had to save just to order Super Trooper and his customizable info card?
Pickups
Games
The Target in the next town over had a barrel full of $5 3DS/DS games and after looking past the top layer of games (mostly kids games) I found these games
Ghost Recon is one of the bundle games with a stylus. I think I have the Luigi stylus from the Tetris bundle I bought last year. Yeah Planes looked fun, even if it’s a kids game.
If my cousin ever claims it Kingdom Hearts is his. I don’t play that series, but I picked it up anyways. I’m hoping Dead or Alive will be fun.
At another Target I decided to pick this up because it was $10 with the giftcard I got from Dimensions for Pre-ordering at Target
I have a flying character in Dimensions now, so I can get the coins in hard to reach areas and blow up silver items.
At Toys R Us, I had a $10 Gift Certificate so I used it on this add-on and dropped the price to $20
I haven’t tried the BTTF Level because I’m still playing through the storyline, but I have used Marty in my party.
Music
When I bought the Wicked Witch Fun Pack I also picked up this album
I was going to buy it at Barnes & Noble and then at Best Buy but I held off until I could see what came on the Target Edition. Turns out the Target Edition had a couple of extra songs and was $4 cheaper. As for the album itself after a listen I’m not a fan. I was expecting older Janet stuff but this album just didn’t connect with me. I found maybe one or two songs I’d like to listen to again, while everything else is good for a listen.
I rarely visit Goodwill now because they raised the prices even though the info cards the main office sends out says CD’s .99 unless otherwise noted, and the local store now believes every CD should be $3. Anyways I found these two CDs for $4 because one of them was 50% because of the color of the tag.
I liked this Grey’s CD because it has a couple of songs I really enjoy but never owned my own copy. I’m not a fan of Ohio State or Michigan but I do like these college football albums of recordings from big games. The CD is still sealed and on the Michigan Bookstore website the same CD is selling for $20.
Toys
From the .99 cent store next to Goodwill I found some Hot Wheels
My first Kool Kombi I gave to my uncle because he has a 21-window bus. The Batmobile I will probably give to my younger cousin who keeps staring at my Batmobiles when he visits.
I thought this was funny
Have a good weekend Pixlbit!
That’s all for now, more later!
-Chris
For my song of the week we are going back to Grey’s Anatomy Soundtrack. This song is by Rilo Kiley, and you folks remember Jenny Lewis from The Wizard and Troop Beverly Hills. One of my favorite songs and it reminds me of a lot of good times.
