Hello everyone, I know it has been a long time since I wrote a blog. Like everyone else I am sure, I have been busy with work. I have been working 2+ hours away from where I live for which was only supposed to be temporary, but it looks like it is going to be longer than expected. Eventually I will be relocated to somewhere I can move and live full time, to tell you the truth though, I don't know if I can wait. I may start looking for a new job soon. In other news, my girlfriend and I broke up, it's been tough trying to move on. Me working out of town caused us to split, we just didn't see each other enough and it really sucks; I would never put a job before anyone in my life, the break-up came so fast that I had no time to react.

On the gaming front, here is what I have been up to since my last blog (February):

Games Beaten

Portal (PS3)

I finally played and beat Portal, a game praised by gamers and critics alike. For me, I enjoyed the game, but I didn't think it was the best thing since sliced bread like the hype would have you believe. I liked the humor and the gameplay was fun. I like the game.

The Order: 1886 (PS4)

It seems like a lot of critics were pretty hard on this game. I enjoyed it a lot, not to mention that it is gorgeous graphically. The gun-play I found fun and the story was predictable, but entertaining. I ended up getting the platinum trophy for this game, so I did enjoy enough to keep with it and do everything.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (Wii U)

This game was tough. There were times I stopped playing it for a week out of frustration. The boss battles were challenging, but after multiple tries and learning the patterns, you could get through them. I would say that I liked the game. I am glad I played it and beat it.

Shovel Knight (PS4)

Shovel Knight reminds me a lot of the Mega Man games for NES in both the art style and gameplay. His attack is ripped straight from Ducktales (NES). I played and enjoyed both those games so Shovel Knight was a trip down memory lane. I though the game was OK overall, I am just not a fan of the throwback NES games I guess. I lived and played through the NES era, I don't really want to go back, lol.

Rocket League (PS4)

I platted this game, so I think that counts as beating it. I easily played this game for about a month straight it feels like. This is an awesome experience and if you haven't played it, give it a shot, you won't regret it.

Currently Playing

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (PS4)

This game is pretty awesome to say the least. The gameplay is the best I have every played in an open world game period. As a fan of the Metal Gear series, I wish it had a deeper story though. Some may disagree, but I didn't mind the 40 minute cutscenes of MGS4 because I like the story of any Metal Gear game more than anything. There is so much to do in this game and I always enjoy doing it because the mechanics are so awesome. Those of you who didn't play Peace Walker, this game is basically Peace Walker 2.0, everything in this game, just about, started there. I can already tell you this is my GOTY.

Destiny: The Taken King (PS4)

I bought Destiny when it first came out and if you remember my last blog of 2014, it was my biggest disappointment of the year last year. Things sure have changed. The tweaks made to the game are all the difference, so much better. I have been playing this and MGS, I predict they will occupy my time for the rest of the year.

Purchases (a lot)

Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition (PS3), Heavy Rain: Director's Cut (PS3), Silent Hill HD Collection (PS3), Jak & Daxter HD Collection (PS3)

I have been buying quite a few PS3 games to beef up my collection before the games get harder to find. The PS3 is my favorite console to date, so many awesome games for it. I own Mortal Kombat for my PC, but I wanted it for console. Heavy Rain is a must own for any PS3 owner, I have played through a portion of it, but haven't beat it. I never owned a copy of Silent Hill 2, that's the reason I bought the Silent Hill HD Collection. And finally, I wanted the Jak & Daxter HD Collection for collection purposes.

Fallout 3 (PS3), Ninja Gaiden Sigma (PS3), Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (PS3), Tekken Hybrid (PS3)

I ordered a copy of the Fallout 3: GOTY Edition, but a vanilla copy of Fallout 3 showed up in the mail, I was disappointed. I loved the Ninja Gaiden games on Xbox, so I bought both the PS3 versions of the games. Tekken Tag Tournament is one of my favorite games of all time, and I don't own a copy of it. I changed that by picking up Tekken Hybrid which includes a HD version of the game.

Burnout Paradise (PS3), Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection (PS3), Sonic All-Star Racing Transformed (PS3), Call of Duty: World at War (PS3), Hyrule Warriors (Wii U)

More PS3 collection purchases here, most of the PS3 games I have shown here I bought for $10 or less. I played Burnout Paradise on my PC, but I am not into PC gaming as much, so I bought it for the PS3, plus I wanted a physical copy. I bought Hyrule Warriors on sale, haven't gotten to sit down and play it yet though.

Splatoon (Wii U), Mass Effect Trilogy (PS3), Madden 15 (PS4), Dying Light (PS4)

I got Splatoon on sale, I played it for a couple hours, I didn't enjoy that much though, I am going to keep it though. I bought Mass Effect Trilogy for one reason, a physical PS3 copy of Mass Effect, lol. I like the Madden games and bought Dying Light because it looked awesome.

Super Mario All-Stars 25th Anniversary (Wii), Super Mario Maker (Wii U), Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (PS4), Destiny: The Taken King Legendary Edition (PS4)

I am disappointed with Super Mario All-Stars for the Wii, it doesn't have Super Mario World on it?! That's so stupid! Super Mario Maker is a lot of fun and I am glad I bought it. Metal Gear Solid V is probably my game of the year and the game I have been waiting for. I gave Destiny another chance and very happy I did.

CONCLUSION

Thanks for reading, I will try to not wait so long to post my next blog. As you can see, I have been pretty busy, I check into the site as much as I can and comment as well.

Since you added me on PS4 if you want someone to play Destny let me know. I don't want to put on n MGSV for you, but it was a sure fire for my goty until I finished it. I won't say much more, but unfortunately it's not the most as consistently amazing as it could be.

I think the initial impact of Portal has been lost. When it was new, it was surprising and fresh. People knew it was probably going to be good because it was made by Valve. I don't think they were expecting it to be funny and well written as well. When it came out, well written games were a rarity (still are to a lesser extent), so i don't think it's as novel now, and everyone knows it's well written and its qualities are often exaggerated by fans, and the jokes have all been spoilt by twats who think saying "the cake is a lie" excuses the fact that they're a talentless cunt who wouldn't know comedy if it forcefed his dog helium and floated it into the sun.

As for the games you bought... they're all pretty good. Especially love Jak and Daxter games. Dying Light is also much better than it has any right to be. Hopefully you enjoy it.

I look forward to more blogs from you!

Ok, have you done of of the raids? I have never done a raid on Destiny. I have done strikes though and those are pretty fun.

You are not the first person to say that about Metal Gear Solid V, a friend of mine even told me which mission number. I hope it's not disappointing at the end, I love the game too much.

I liked Portal, the ending song was catchy,  I remember hearing it in Left 4 Dead 2 playing on a jukebox online on PC, probably a mod. The game was good, I am not a fan of puzzle games though. I just wanted to play it though. I own Portal 2 and intend on playing it one of these days.

Thanks for reading, I look forward to yours as well.

Nope haven't touched Raids yet because there's no matchmaking for them and I don't have that many friends who play games irl, and most of them don't have a ps4 or don't like Destiny.

Portal 2 has survived a bit better in that there are so many jokes and puzzles that even on repeat playings one will catch youn off guard. The game still makes me laugh my ass off.

You should try Portal 2.  It's MUCH better and feels like a full game.

I own Portal 2 as well and intend to play it. I also would like to play Half-Life 2 one day.

Half-Life 2 and Portal don't seem as exciting now, because every developer has stolen from them excessively and it's hard to see the innovation goes back to them.  There isn't a 1st player shooter I play where I'm not like "Half-Life did it first" every five minutes.

I want to sit down and play through Half-Life 2 one day, I feel like I need to play it.

This is the perfect time to pick up PS3 games. The games are dropping in price, and you have to pick up games now before they start disappearing. Speaking of, I really should get a physical copy of Burnout Paradise. That was one of the first downloaded games I bought it is so much fun.

At some point I really should give The Order a try. I've heard mixed reviews on it but I wanted to give it a try for myself.

I liked The Order, I don't really get the flak it gets. I wasn't expecting an amazing game, maybe that's why I wasn't disappointed. The game looks awesome and I had fun with it. It's not too tough to get the plat if you like to do that.

Christ...you went on a game buying frenzy!  LOL! Wish I had that Super Mario All-Stars though.

I thought it would be awesome to own Mario All-Stars, I wish it had Super Mario World on it though. Atleast Super Mario Maker lets you create using Mario World levels/enemies.

Mortal Kombat 9 is really good. Feels like an awesome recreation of the 1st 3 games with a better story line! I really dug the graphics and gameplay as well!

I have beaten it before, also loved the story mode. Have you played the new one?

I've been picking up collections too lately. I got Kirby's Dream Collection, Silent Hill HD and Ico/Shadow in the last month. I want that Jak & Daxter and Ratchet & Clank next.

I was looking at that Kirby collection...it's so expensive though. I have the ICO/SotC collection, I have never played Shadow of the Colussus either, another game I have been meaning to get to.

All these Nintendo things never come down in price. So annoying.
