Cool shoes. I'm rooting for Mets in World Series. Was gonna bandwagon Blue Jays if Cubs failed, but after the drunken fan response to my Rangers, no dice. Hoping Royals win series tonight.

Pixlpeeps, what is up? Friday is here and this is going to be a two-part blog. Let me explain. I’m currently writing this blog in the morning getting most of my thoughts typed before I head out to pick up my sneakers from the UPS facility, and continuing this entry once I get home. Ok so its two-part for me, one long blog for you folks. So the weekend; Are you excited? I think I am going out of town again this weekend but I don’t know if its going to be camera worthy or just snapping pictures with the phone. We shall see. I need to use the Mii’s I collected last week so I have free space for more Mii’s. Seriously why do we only get 10? I think we should collect as many Mii’s as possible. Anyways let’s get this Quick Hits started!
Chris Watches…
Ray Donovan: I stopped watching three episodes from the end of the season a couple of weeks ago, and decided to finish it off. The Cowboys were in a bye week, and I really didn’t care for who was playing so Ray Donovan Marathon it is. I have to say this was a good season, and I’m going to check out the first two seasons. I might have skipped one because the first episode I was playing catch up but after 30 minutes I was in, was caught up and wanted to see how everything will end up.
The Affair: Last week’s episode went back to form with focusing on the storylines of the two main characters, with Noah’s daughter being the part of the storyline for this episode. This wasn’t as strong as the previous episodes but it is laying the groundwork for what is about to happen that you see in the shots from the future where everyone is in court.
Arrow: In this week’s Green Batman we again take another trip to Ra’s Al Ghul’s house but this time it isn’t Green Batman & Co. but other folks and well, this is how they are setting up Legends of Tomorrow. I can’t wait for an appearance of Fake Iron Man (Atom) to also show up. This season needs to be better than last season where it seemed like it just got stuck in a Ra’s vs. Arrow storyline. I want to see how they move forward with the Green Arrow vs. Damien Darhk, and if Flash will show up. I also want to see who will be the person in the grave that Oliver was next to in the season premier. I think its still going to be someone from his past.
Quantico: Oh my theory about the blond being the terrorist might have been busted with this episode, but I’m still keeping faith. I also think it might be the head of the FBI School because she got to pick who was going to be at the school. I’m waiting for a big plot twist. This show is really good, and I wonder what they are going to do with it, if it gets picked up for a second season. I think it would be really good if this storyline only lasted for a season.
Chris Listens To…
I listened to various albums throughout the week. I have them playing while I was working on the computer and one of the albums I listened to was a Google Play Freebie, The Very Best of Taylor Dayne
She was big in the late 80’s early 90s, big voice, lots of electronics behind her. She had some big dance hits and then had a really good ballad “Love Will Lead You Back.” I already have her Greatest Hits album and this album has the singles versions of her songs (I really can’t tell a difference. They’re probably shorter) I’m not complaining because the album was free.
Podcasts: I’m caught up with my podcasts. Yesterday while syncing my iPod my podcast list was empty, and I think I only have maybe 10 episodes of various podcasts currently on the iPod. I started using the Home Sharing option again (I basically stream my iTunes library and playlists to any other iDevice in my WiFi Network) This is my new favorite way to drain my phone’s battery.
Tune-In Premium: I’m currently debating on subscribing to this service so I can listen to NFL games on the phone. I like listening to sports on the radio. I started doing this in college listening to Aztec games on the radio and it has stuck ever since. The service is $8.00 a month and I get all local stations for the NFL, along with MLB, English Premier League, a bunch of audiobooks, commercial free radio, and the usual radio stations around the country. If I do decide to subscribe I will probably cancel after the season, but having all those audiobooks as well as being able to listen to baseball games might be reason to keep the service. Also it wouldn’t affect my data usage because I don’t hit 1GB out of 5GB of service before my connection gets throttled. 80% of my use is on WiFi. If you’re interested here is the link
Chris Takes Pictures…
In another one of my cloud pictures here is one I took over the weekend right around the time the sun was setting.
This was right around the time between two storms so it really wasn’t windy or sprinkling.
The next set of pictures is one of the neighbors from the lake who decided to take a stroll around the neighborhood. He didn’t give a damn about the gardeners who were cleaning around the area
The final picture is one I took after taking the sky picture. At this point it was dark but I think I got a good shot of this little guy
Thanks for looking at my pictures!
Randoms…
I forgot to share this screenshot, but first a little background. The conference that SDSU is in streams football games that are not on National TV from local feeds (they are blacked out if you are in the area for obvious reasons) and during the SDSU vs. Hawaii game this was the last two minutes of the game
I always figured the stream was done from a fancy system somewhere in the main offices, but it turns out its probably off of someone’s Mac using Livestream. It would have been hilarious if the person in charge of this computer had some saved porn on the desktop.
Facebook: So a couple of days ago I discovered that I can block items on Facebook. Yeah I’m late to the party, but I found this to be a handy tool because let’s face it, I can’t stand a lot of the things my friends post. Everything from religion, to stupid memes about sports, to liking all things associated with their favorite teams. I get folks are fans but seriously sharing and liking everything your team and the players do is just insane. I miss the old Facebook where people would post what’s going on in their lives, sharing pictures, not this BS about hit like so random person can get an operation (seriously if you think these things are true, maybe social media is not for you). My feed is now back to normal.
The Shoe Story Purchase: Ok so this is the reason why this edition is a two-part blog for me, and one long and late blog for you folks. So remember last week when I was trying to buy the Supreme Joran V’s?
They were collaboration between the store Supreme and Nike and they were limited to 1,994 pairs per model. Well I decided to try and order a pair, knowing full well that I had no chance. I had the white pair in my cart before it was taken. I waited 10 minutes and decided what the hell and I tried again, this time for the black pair. I didn’t get any confirmation and I didn’t think anything about it. Flash forward to around lunch when I was checking my email, and it turns out I got my order in and my shoes were on their way. Exciting right? Well while in the shower later on that night it hit me that I might have used my old address for the shipping address because I used Google’s service that fills out everything for you.
I reached out to UPS through their online chat and it turns out I did and they couldn’t do anything about it. I then reached out to Supreme and waited. Thank goodness they got to me on Sunday Morning and let me know they couldn’t change the address because of security reasons (I’m thinking folks who steal credit card numbers). Anyways it is now 8am and the UPS Facility is open so this is where I am going to take a break, change, and pick up my shoes.
Ok so it is 4:44pm and I am eating a late lunch (Whole Foods Pulled Pork and Sausage) and I am updating what I’ve been up to. So when I left you folks I took the 30 minute drive to the UPS holding facility and picked up my shoes, dropped off my shoes at home, and then went to the mall. Around noon I heard that the Nike Website was selling the camouflage versions of the sneakers and I said what the hell, and tried to get into the queue to order a pair. I decided against it a couple of minutes later. Anyways here are the sneakers I ordered
I wore them at the mall
That’s me!
To celebrate Back to the Future Day I posted this
I also think the Mets HATE that movie. Thanks Mets, now I won’t get my Pizza Hydrator. I don’t care for the hoverboard, I wanted to be able to have good instant pizza.
Pickups
Games
I picked up Motorstorm Apocalypse off of PSN for $2 on the PS3. I haven’t tried it yet.
I found this at the .99 cent store and I thought it would be interesting to give it a try
I guess you build up a little fleet and compete against a friend
In each pack you get a pair of mini dice, two models, and 6 cards. The one model was a pain to assemble. They are made of a thick stock almost like a hard Styrofoam. It looks like a cool game so I might pick up a pack or two each time I visit the .99 cent store.
Music
From the mom and pop music store
There is a single on this album called Break It Down Again, which was catchy around my freshman year of High School (or maybe Sophomore year). Anyways I liked the song, and I get to give this album a listen. Usher usually has some catchy stuff and I think I bought this album for one or two songs.
Filling out some holes in some playlists with these two albums
I haven’t heard this Norah Jones album so it should be a fun listen. I think with this Cranberries CD I now have all their studio releases.
Some R&B stuff I haven’t heard
From Barnes & Noble I found a replacement for the digital copy I have
Toys
While roaming around Toys R Us before picking up some groceries I noticed that someone went through the Hot Wheels bin and stacked a bunch of cars which means Hot Wheels guy has been there. I probably missed out on the cool cars but he did leave these cars
I’ll give my cousin this Batmobile because I already have two, but I’m keeping the Mini Cooper
I have two more of Brian’s Ford Escort from Fast and Furious 6. While checking out the cars I noticed this on the back of the card
I never noticed it before, and its cool to see some info about the car.
Alright Pixlbit I am off. Have a good weekend!
That’s all for now, more later!
-Chris
So for this week’s song it’s Tears For Fears’s Break It Down Again
The only reason why this song sticks is because around lunch we would eat in this outdoor area and the school would play the local radio station over the loud speakers. At some point I think I taped it and had a random mix in my Walkman. Oh this video screams 90s.
