Work...Work...And Work.

So ive finally gotten a bit of break from work, Ive been getting alot of extra hours but since the overtime laws for caregivers has changed they pretty much have had their hands forced to keep us from working too much. Previously we didnt get overtime pay, we got Holiday, but not overtime. Now since they have to, I was informed yesterday that unless its approved we cant ask for more hours unless were getting below 40. I still work around 48 to 52. Im approved since under the circumstances thats what my clients need me for. However passed that I have to be approved for more and they wont do that unless its an emergency. Your probaby thinking "Arent, you happy? your getting payed overtime?" Im kind of unsure because I dont know excately how my check is gonna look. If its an improvement, then sure. However Im worried that I wont be able to get extra hours especially when I need the extra cash to get by so Im kind of uneasy. My parents are gonna help me get my C.N.A. which will be a big help because I will qualify for jobs that make around 12.00 to even 16.00 an Hr. I just have to hold out till January at the latest. The money for it will be avaiable in November but we wont know when the next 2 week program will start. Oh, did I mention the program Im doing only takes 2 weeks? Yup, it normally takes I think 6 months. There is a school that offers it in 2 weeks. Its alot to absorb in 2 weeks but this will help in March when Im possiablly gonna be living on my own. I say that because my sister Justine, isnt sure just yet that she will be able to live with me for atleast the first 2 months. The lease isnt up till May at her current apartment. Im pretty excited since March will be here soon, Im moving back to my home town. My mother needs me close by, being all the way in Fortworth has been really rough on her and my father. Well Im now off to read yalls blogs and try to get caught up. Im behind big time again. I hope yall are all well ^_^

You live in Ft. Worth now? And as a caregiver? Well shoot, I am living/working in Dallas. Maybe our paths will cross. lol

Caregivers should get paid more I think. My lowly Production Assistant job pays $15/hr. It's freelance and highly irregular, but still. Part time inventorying of Home Depots pays only $9/hr, but fairly regular schedule (I literally have my schedule through end of mid-december when we are done with Home Depots).

I take it you split up with your bf? I'm sorry to hear that but last I heard from you he sounded like he was slacking. Good luck in getting your CNA! You deserve more than whatever you're getting now though, I'm sure.

Im not even make 9.00 hr,lol! I wish but sadly until im certified I wont qualify for work that pays better. I dont have much longer to wait though, so its not all bad. Im just gonna keep working with what I got and make it as long as I can. Maybe we will cross paths, ya never know in this crazy ass world!

Sadly....no. Im stuck in a 1 year lease in a 1 bedroom apartment. If I could handle all the bills on my own id definitly end it with him and get it over with. However since I cant, Im holding out until things change. I hate it more then anything but I got no choice. My credits already bad, I cant ruin it further with a lease break. If I left it to him, he could not handle it for sure. I dont got much longer to go and ill be FREE!

Always great to hear from you. Hope work isn't killing you too much, 48-52 hours seems stressful. Hope things work out and there's more balance to your life soon. Hopefully the money kicks ass.

Im gonna do my best to blog more, I definitly wanna post more and be here. Things have just been super stressful. Im aiming for my C.N.A. so hopefully once I get that in the coming months I can shoot for a better job.
