Name Our Podcast!

Hey guys, I've finally got my podcast off the ground, and we've recorded our first one! It stars Joe Step and Jamie Alston, and I'm currently in the process of editing our 4 hours of recording down to something more managable. Hopefully it'll be up by the end of the week.

Before that happens, though, we need a name! We did have White Cis Scumcast as we were 3 over priveleged guys complaining about video games, but for reasons pertaining to people wanting to pursue certain careers, that can't be the case and we need to find something less offensive.

So, since we suck at naming things, so we thought we'd hand it off to you guys. The basic format of the show is we talk about what we've been playing and then we talk about... something else. It might be news, it might be a theme (this week it's horror games because we literally recorded on halloween), or it might be something else entirely.

So yeah, if you guys come up with anything let us know!

what about just Scumcast?  That has a nice ring. or "Game Scum Live"?  Ha.

Four hours.  wow.

I mean I recorded us talking before and after the podcast and in the break, and there's some good discussion in the break, so I want to put some of that in. We seemed to be a lot more enthusiastic when we weren't in the actual podcast for some reason.

But yeah. Scumcast or Pixl Scumcast or something could work.

I like JJB Pixlcast. Or even just pixlcast.

Blaster Caster is brilliant!

I like both of mothman's suggestions. I, too, suck at naming things, so no suggestions from me.

Got Pixels?

The Lower Level? Since you want to keep it gamey and scummy? I think it's safe? Plus you're in Australia, so it could reference down under too?

I really like that.

I also suggested The D-Pads. lol

And I really like the D-Pads, but as you guys said, it would be much funnier if we were female.

The Lower Level is cool though. Alliteration, not too long, represents the anything-goes/mind-in-the-gutter stuff you and I at least come up with, and I think the name has more character than something like Pixlcast.

We can always grab some of the ones we like and put them in a poll. Have you had any trouble editing?

Not so much troubles, it just takes forever. Because there's a lot of content I'm listening through and trying to decide what to cut to make it more manageable, plus getting rid of awkward pauses and some stuttering and just in general prettying it up.

And yeah. That's what I was thinking, because we all seem to like different ones.

I like Mothman's suggestions as well. Both Pixlcast and BlasterCaster. How about we combine then and call it Pixl BlasterCaster. Makes for a nice acronym that rolls of the tongue-- P.B.C.

I do like that a lot actually. Pixlblastercaster is a bit too long imo but pixl blastercast could work. I know it's one syllable, but it rolls off the tongue a little better.

Hey, that's even better.  Still has the same acronym too!

How about, Three Whinos or Game Whinos. Get it, whining and wino? Scumcast is pretty good though. Very catchy. It makes me think you're going to talk about the SCUM engine from 90s PC gaming, but I'm probably the only one who would think that. Scumcast suggests some attitude, like "we're going to be edgy and say whatever we want." I like that.
