Let's Look Back At October

Pixlpeeps what is going on? It has been crazy weather here in normally sunny SoCal was warm during Halloween weekend, and then last night it got really windy and cool. For you East Coast folks, its 70 degrees and I wore my new sweatshirt.

We had crazy wind, and a tree in the local shopping center fell. I had to drive around it, and you would think on coming traffic would slow down a bit seeing this obstacle in my way. Nope. Anyways that’s your weather update from California (I got to wear a new hoodie earlier this morning). Let’s get started with a look back at October.

I started seven games in the month of October and finished four games. If you want to get technical one of the games was DLC but I’ll count it anyways. I could have easily finished off Lego Dimensions, and made a lot of progress through Lego Jurassic World but I wasn’t in the mood. There are a bunch of games I still need to finish and I’m starting to piece together my list for The Third Annual Chris Goes All Awards Show blog, which usually happens in December.

So what exactly did I play this past week? Let’s find out

Lego Dimensions – PS4: I think I played part of a level this past week. I was trying to get some more of the game out of the way before the next wave of new packs. If I pick up the pace a bit I could easily finish the main storyline, the Simpsons Level Pack, and possibly pick up more packs (hopefully they go on sale during Black Friday and what I like to call Dark Gray Thursday Night)

NCAA Football 14 – PS3: In year 3 of the Georgia State Dynasty Mode the Panthers took on #1 Clemson in the National Title Game in The Dolphins home stadium. The Panthers raced out to a 14-point lead and held on to win by 3. The crazy part is after the game the Panthers were still ranked #2 to Clemson, the team they beat. After the season I did my usual of go going through the Coaching Carousel to see what jobs were offered. I created a new game save for the TCU job, played a half before deciding that I was still having too much fun with GSU so I went back to that save. The Panthers are 5-0 and beat three teams by 50+.

Need For Speed No Limits – iOS: Most of my weekend was dedicated to this game because there was a special event where if you completed the five chapters you got to keep the special car.

I spent a lot of time getting through the chapters, waiting for my ticket cap to refill (the joys of freemium gaming). Looking back I could have probably done the time hack where you control the time on the iPad and just advance it two hours. Anyways with about 7 hours left in the tournament I got this

I got the car and then proceeded to use it in the BMW car races, which I cleared with ease.

I finished off two tablet games:

Lego Star Wars Microfighters – Android: I decided to download it off of my Android library in the Amazon Cloud, and I finished the game again. I collected all bricks and once you unlock the shield, it’s basically God Mode. Since this game was purchased through Amazon no Google achievements. Oh well.

Batman Arkham Origins – Android: This game I finally finished off by unlocking the final district in Gotham after not playing it for I think two years. The difficulty gets a hefty raise here, which isn’t bad for some fights; it just means more opponents to take down. The part that sucked was during the Bane fight there is no way to stop him once you get in a tapping match to try and stop him from picking up Batman.

I played through the game, and I left maybe two or three of the fights where you get ranked. I really don’t care for those or the last two achievements on my Google profile.

Simpsons Tapped Out – iOS: I finally unlocked the A Clockwork Orange Bart

I still don’t care about the latest storyline, and I’m just waiting for the Christmas storyline.

I tried a new game on Android

You can see why I’m a little burned out on Lego games. Anyways this game is a fighter with Lego minifigures.

You assemble a team of three minifigure super heroes and you fight another group

Since its Lego there is just two buttons, jump and punch, and the characters drop studs. Collect enough studs to trigger a super move. Hit the button and watch the move. There really isn’t much to this game, and its something I won’t play but I will keep on my tablet for my cousins to try.

The final game I installed on my tablet but haven’t tried yet

Yeah from reading the game description, it sounds like NBA Jam, but with Filipino basketball teams. At some point I’ll give it a try.

Anyone buy this game?

I saw it on Twitter yesterday when it was still in stock. It didn’t interest me, and I really don’t care that the game is limited to 1,500 copies worldwide. Having a clear case was cool, but not $25 cool. Anyways if you folks did order it congrats.

Well Pixlpeeps I am off to eat some breakfast. Have a good week!

That’s all for now, more later!

Chris

That Need for Speed screen shot for iOS looks fantastic. Such good graphics for phone and tablet games now.

Its a fun game, but I wish the developers would have made the game for $3-5 bucks instead of the Freemium cap. The game does look really good, and there is a decent customization to turn your stock car into something from Fast and the Furious.

That looked like a cool freebie. Hopefully there will be a sale on it years from now when I get an XBox One.

Hahaha I saw it one night before bed on Reddit and couldn't stop laughing. There's another one I saw yesterday with the origins of the new ball robot. I'll probably post it tomorrow on Quick Hits.

ACO is one of my favorite books, but casual references to it sometimes make me uncomfortable given subject matter. That's still a sweet Bart skin though.

Saw a friend on FB who moved there complain about Californian drivers when it rains. Thought of you

I've never read ACO, but one of my friends in college loved the book. At some point I should check it out.

Oh drivers here are terrible. If the weather changes a little bit I swear people go crazy. My friends have a running joke that once a drop of water falls from the sky the NEWS quickly jumps into "STORM WATCH" mode.

I played a bit of that Simpsons tapped out game but the microtransations killed it for me. Anyway, hope all has been well for you.

Yeah those are a pain, but early on they were not a big part of the game, and it was easy to unlock some of the special items. Now it seems like it is relying more and more on the microtransactions.

Can't complain, the weather is nice, and I have games to play.
