Good luck with the whole Black Friday thing. I refuse to go anywhere near a shopping center on that day, too many people acting too crazed.
Two Games Off Mount Backlog, And Some Black Friday Ads

Happy Tuesday Pixlpeeps! I was going to post this yesterday but decided to hold off until today because I wanted to finish two games, get them off the Mount Backlog and maybe check out some other games. Since there was only one game I wanted to watch yesterday because my Aztecs were in a bye week (oh Dallas Cowboys. Why do you keep finding a way to lose in the last play or last series of a game). Let's get started with what I played over the weekend
MLB The Show 15 – PS4: So Video Game Chris is not in the everyday starting lineup, which sucks but it happens. I played in one game of the three game series with the Blue Jays, and two games against the Braves. In the current series with the Brewers I bumped up the stats a bit with the saved up currency to purchase more stat points and VG Chris went from 82 rated player to 85. In the game against the Brewers I hit two home runs, and drove in 7 RBI along with two singles
I unlocked this, and hearing the PS4 chime is always fun. I’m hoping VG Chris makes the everyday rotation and starts to pad those stats.
Disney Frozen Free Fall: Snowball Fight – PS4: This is a game that is found on Android, and would be perfect on the Vita…except its only available on the PS4. Its your typical match 3 puzzle game and the only reason to play it on the PS4 instead on a platform its perfect on (a tablet) is because PS4 offers trophies. If you are a trophy hunter, this game is for you.
NCAA Football 14 – PS3: I have one game left in the regular season for Georgia State, and the Panthers are sitting at number 2. Since there is no Championship Game in the Sun Belt it becomes a waiting game. Currently the number one team is the Oklahoma Sooners and they seem to have a score at will offense, which means if they meat Georgia State, it will be a low scoring game. I tend to switch up my throw the ball around the yard offense to run and control clock. I’ve started to debate on either moving on from GSU, or moving the Panthers to a tougher conference. This offensive unit as been able to drop 50 points on all but maybe two teams in conference. At first it was fun being up by at least 4 scores going into halftime but now its slowly becoming a chore to finish games.
EDIT: Yesterday I finished the National Title Game with Oklahoma with a blowout 50-21 win. My offense could do no wrong, and OU threw three interceptions. I saved my Georgia State Dynasty and like predicted the two jobs I wanted, Texas A&M and Baylor were open. I decided with Baylor because of the uniforms and different combinations. A&M has nice uniforms too but there was more choice in mix and matching with Baylor.
Battlefield 3 – 360: I recently remembered I was playing this game, while sorting through my stack of 360 games next to the console. I keep the games I’m currently playing in sleeves next to the console, and when I was stacking them I saw it so I popped it in and realized why I was stuck. I was at a point where your character was flying around an airport and had to take out three fighters on the ground. Well I forgot the controls and couldn’t find these jets. After watching a section of YouTube video where the controls popped up on the screen, I knew what I was doing, jumped back into the game and finished the mission. I played a bit of the game over the weekend and currently I sit three missions away from finishing the single player campaign before moving onto probably another FPS.
My dizzy spells with FPS games is getting better. I can play two missions now before starting to feel dizzy. The game itself isn’t bad, there have been some tense moments including replaying a final portion of a mission because I had no idea what to do (this is almost becoming a theme of this game).
EDIT: So Monday Night I finished the last three missions and by far my favorite of the three was (this game has been out for awhile so this isn’t really a spoiler) the mission where you and a team have to make your way across the valley to a bridge. This was a lot of fun except at times my team couldn’t hit the side of a barn so I would run to the side of where the enemy was and take them out. The final mission was too short and felt incomplete compared to the previous missions and the ending was a bit too cliché and it is something seen in a Summer Action Popcorn Movie. I was waiting for a cheesy line like “This is your stop” or something similar.
Ridge Racer Unbounded – 360: I’m starting to not like this game and after reading some comments on various places around the internets it seems I’m not the only one. The thing that bugs me most about this game is that it does a poor job of portraying the feeling of speed. The cars seem slow, and since RR made this push to be more like Burnout it fails to put a solid product out as a Ridge Racer and Burnout games. It’s just not fun, and there are other racing games I would rather play. It looks like I may remove this game from my 360 digital library and use that hard drive space on a game I’d enjoy playing.
Ridge Racer – 360: I tried to play this game and quickly realized that I need to play a couple of earlier races to get use to the gameplay again. Since I am playing other racing games I pushed this aside for a bit because I don’t want to get confused. The positive is that I realized that I am almost finished with the first section of races (there are over 100 races in this section and I am on race 95)
Bioshock Infinite – 360: I really should be playing this game on the PS3 especially since I have the first two on that console. Anyways this is probably the first time I actually dove into the Bioshock series and what first hits me is how cool this universe looks. The whole Steampunk look makes we just want to explore around the game instead of actually progressing within the storyline. I’m still in the very early stages of the game but I like how everything is almost glowing in this universe compared to the very beginning where it was dark and gloomy. It almost has that Disneyland feel when you first walk through the side tunnels to enter Main Street and see how different it is from outside. I’ll probably start over on the PS3 and finish it there.
Sonic And All Stars Racing – Vita: In my quest to unlock everything I went through two or three races on Medium to earn more stars. I think I am currently 10 away from the 80 star mark to unlock the next character. I need to get back into this game because finishing it before the year is over is doable especially if I stick with one racer.
Montezuma Blitz – Vita: Up until a couple of days ago it has been 30 days since I played this game because I was given an extra 30 hearts and bonus of 2X points for the next 30 games…I only played one game, and then turned it off.
Tablet Gaming!
Asphalt 7 – iOS: I tried out the special races portion where you rent a car, complete the objectives and win the car your rented. Sound like fun? It was ok, and I unlocked a little Nissan
I’ll probably try these missions for a bit before going back to the career missions and finish up the last three sections I have left.
WWE Immortals – Android: So for this week’s unlockable character we get a new Rock
Along with some new gear cards. I’ll probably unlock him later on today.
Top Speed – Android: This is one of those drag racing games where you hit shift and after each race you can upgrade your car
Nothing too fancy, and its mostly one of those quick I have some time lets bang out a couple of races. The game itself is your typical freemium game where you have a certain number of fuel canisters, and each race costs 1, 2, or three canisters. You can earn free ones by watching a video.
I spent a couple of days playing through just the bosses in the game, finishing them up last night
There are five different areas to race in the city and each area has four bosses to challenge. Their info cards are a little funny because of the trash talking. After beating the final boss in a stage you get the option of spending real money to buy their car. This is the car of the final boss
You are insane if you spent $30 for a car in this game. At the end of beating all the bosses you go through a final gauntlet of every boss and race on an aircraft carrier
Say what now?
There are also races where you are a cop, racing through a leaderboard of Top 25 racers per section, and other goodies in this game. If you like time wasting games that involve little thought this game is for you! (psst. Don’t spend real money on this game)
A couple of interesting gaming items:
Target’s Black Friday ad was posted yesterday and Best Buy’s ad was posted online this morning and here are a couple of items I like
$60 for Guitar Hero. I’m grabbing one of those. The cheap games on the side I am going to pass on this year, because it seems like I already have most of them. I will however wait to see what they have when I get to Target, and hour after they open and all the crazy folks are gone (you know the ones who want to get into fist fights over a really cheap low quality 50in TV).
Best Buy has a little more selection in things I might want (unless Target has the same deals just not advertised)
Project Cars is interesting at $20. I have those Powerbeats2 and I really like them, and they are a steal at $100. If you get a pair a charge lasts about a day of normal use.
I actually want to buy one of these prepaid no contract super cheap Android phones to use as a gaming device. I have a bunch of random little Android games and for you folks who like emulators of old consoles, just slap an SD card in it and you're good to go. I think it would be fun to have especially at $10.
I might get NFS No Limits for $35, if I don’t find anything at Target.
Here are the links to the Target and Black Friday Ads
For you folks with Apple devices
Rayman’s Fiesta Run is free again. Can’t go wrong with a free game, right?
Alright Pixlpeeps, it is time for me to call this another blog, so have a good week, I’ll be reading a bunch of awesome content you people wrote, and we shall talk later!
That’s all for now, more later!
