A storm is coming

Hey Pixlbit, how are you? Today was the long awaited Nintendo Direct since the tragic passing of Mr. Iwata. But as always, I will post the Direct video here and post my highlights:

But before that, a moment of silence for Mr. Iwata...

Favorite announcements:

Twilight Princess HD

Twilight Princess HD was finally confirmed and they showed it. Will release next year and will come bundled with a Wolf Link amiibo and a soundtrack thing. I pre-ordered it as soon as it went up.

They also showed a few seconds of Zelda Wii U, and it was awesome, even if it was brief. Still coming out in 2016.

Linkle

Hyrule Warriors 3DS got more info too. They showed footage of Tetra, Toon Link, and the King of Red Lions. As well as Skull Kid. They also showed a new character called Linkle which is basically a female Link that wields dual crossbows. A nod to Link's Crossbow Training.

Starfox 0 got a new trailer as well as an April 22nd release date. Great birthday present for myself.

Pokemon News: We got more Pokken Tournament news. First print copies will have a Mewtwo amiibo card that gives you instant access to the new Metwo form. They said Mewtwo is in the game as an unlockable character. So you're basically getting a cheat code. But free is free.

Also, Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow version are coming to the eShop next year. That was a surprise announcement because it wouldn't work because of the newer mechanics. It'll work just like the original games, and they can allow you to trade wirelessly, a feat many thought wouldn't work. Definitely getting them because I have no idea where my GBC is.

Fire Emblem Fates/Birthright is getting a limited edition which I think gives you both games and physical goodies for about 80 bucks. Not a bad deal. Pre-ordered just in case I want it.

Square-Enix: They got alot of coverage. 2 Dragon Quest games will be coming to the U.S. Dragon Quest Vll and Vlll on 3DS. Also Final Fantasy Explorers on 3DS.

Smash News: And finally this...

 Cloud

Yep Cloud from FFVll is in Smash. Funny how he's in Smash but not in Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale. Oh well, more characters and another amiibo to buy. Plus maybe it's about time I check out FFVll...

Well those are the major announcements.  Which are your favorites? Thanks for watching/reading and later.

Cool announcements. Funny, I just bought a Wii version on Twilight Princess and now I'll probably never play it. Motion controls suck, I wish they would do the same thing for the Metroid Prime Trilogy. Excited for Twilight Princess HD, Zelda Wii U and Cloud in SSB.

Yeah, Motion Controls in TP was just waggle, but still better than Skyward Sword's controls. They should have an option on the Metroid Prime Trilogy for traditional controls, though MP3 might be hard to pull off cause it was built with motion controls in mind. Really loving those announcements too.

I like that F-Zero lookin' game, Xenoblade looks amazing, Star Fox Zero looks like they're sticking to series roots (though I bet I won't love the gyrocopter), and I'll have to get the new Zelda.

Dammit, Nintendo.

Fast Racing Neo looks amazing. Guess that'll be everyone's F-Zero fix till Nintendo makes one. Xenoblade looks amazing, really excited for it. SF0 looks good too. Both Zelda's look good.

I want to save but I say the same thing.

My friend told me to wait on buying a Wii U, because there are rumors new console will be revealed at E3 2016 and may be backwards compatible. Not sure if I believe that, especially the BC part.

Yeah, the NX is Nintendo's new console that will be shown at E3. Not sure on backwards compatibility though, but would be great if it had it. Wii U is going to be really cheap on Black Friday, I think it was 250 bucks with Smash 4 and Splatoon included as digital games. Up to you though.

I'll wait. Plenty coming for my Ps4 in 2016. I'll always be a Big N kid at heart.

Preordered Twilight Princess immediately too. Been wanting to replay that game anyways. Final Fantasy VII is the only FF I've actually finished (though I REALLY need to get back to X) and I just liked it alright. Interested in the remake though.

It has an amiibo in it so knew it would sell out immediately. It's back up again though. I can't replay any version anymore, the GCN ver. is out of the question cause the Wii, and while I can play the Wii one on Wii U, my nunchuk controller broke.

I want to try FFVll to see what all the fuss is about. I've only played the HD one on PS3. Need to get back on it.

I may get Dragon Quest VII on 3DS, but I like my DQVIII on my TV via PS2.

I never played them, so will definitely give them a spin.

So Nintendo's website says that the Twilight Princess soundtrack will be bundled with pre-orders from select retailers. But they don't tell you which retailers. Really annoys me. I would preorder with game stop, but they don't say if it comes with the soundtrack or not.

At any rate, I just pre-ordered with GameStop.com since Best Buy and Amazon are no longer taking pre-orders.  Also, niether website mentions the soundtrack, so I guess we'll all have to wonder until we get our merchandise. i don't have much experience with pre-ordering games. The only other time I pre-ordered anything was the original Wii system years ago. Other than that, never...so I'm a little nervious about this.

Even so, I know I want Twilight Princess HD because I bought it on the Wii, but never played because I realized that I'd rather not play with motion controls for a Zelda game. I always regretted not getting the GameCube version instead. Now's my second chance to do it right.
