Happy Friday Pixlpeeps! The weekend is here, the weather is cool enough for me to wear a sweatshirt, and I am ready to play some video games that involve a plastic guitar. So how are you good people? Anything fun planned for the weekend? I think I might have to go to a wedding at some point so I really should add some casual games to my phone (I don’t know anyone at this event and I know at some points there will be dull moments). It is Friday, which means Quick Hits is back. I caught up on some shows, read a book, listened to some stuff, and thanks to social media I almost forgot about the next Marvel show on Netflix Jessica Jones. No idea who the character is, but I do like the actress from her old show Don’t Trust The B in Apt. 23 and I really enjoyed Daredevil so I’m hoping for more of the same. Alright let’s get this edition of Quick Hits started!

Chris Watches…

Vanderpump Rules: Oh so I caught up with the last two episodes in this current season and this is still my favorite reality show. This season there is a ton of drama in three episodes at SUR, Scheana and her husband are having problems, Katie and Scheana teamed up against new girl Lala, James and Kristen are having problems, and it looks like Schwartz might actually be ready for marriage. My favorite storyline of the bunch is after the party in the first episode James and a friend of Scheana shared an Uber and James’ girlfriend Kristen decided to look through his email’s and saw that he called an Uber for the other girl from his house at 6am. Yes I watch this show and there is no shame.

Below Deck: I started catching up on this season and it is so slow. It isn’t as fun as previous seasons especially with each guest on the Eros gets two episodes. The butting heads of Chef Leon and Head Stew Kate used to be fun but now its getting frustrating to watch each person throw little digs at each other. Thank goodness that Bravo places Below Deck and Vanderpump on Demand on their website.

Bonanza: I don’t know how the producers of this show did it, but the actors they hired every week to be villains have punchable faces. Props to everyone involved in getting me to pick a side every single episode. Also why is it that when it was hot everyone went crazy? Last night the episode was Hoss was sitting by a fire (let me remind you it was hot outside) carrying 12 thousand in cash and the local sheriff decided he wanted to see what was in his bag, saw the cash and decided to arrest him because their bank was robbed the week before. A couple of things: 1. Say if Hoss robbed their bank, why would he be in the area a week later? 2. Why does he have a fire going when it was hot outside? Yeah I still watch.

Random Shows Set In Alaska: You know these shows, they’re all over Discovery where people live in the woods, and have to hunt for food. Congrats on living this way but the one thing that always bothered me about these folks is that they always seem to point out “here in Alaska we have to do X, Y, Z to survive while the lower 48 has it easy.” You know good for you for living it up like its 1799 but you people chose this life, and before they look down on the lower 48 just remember that all the modern convinces they use to live like its 1799 come from the lower 48. Yeah life is tough, but when you have a rifle with a modern scope, riding on a snowmobile, and wearing clothing probably made by North Face you might want to take it down a notch. You’re one step below folks like me who “hunt” in the meat section of a grocery when it comes to living in the wild…and congrats for that new toilet seat in your outhouse.

Aztec Basketball: I love my Aztecs, and I know there are many like myself but damn it seems we have more than our share of yahoo casual fans who like to bitch and moan about everything. Wednesday night SDSU played San Diego Christian College (apparently San Diego is home to like 100000000 religious schools, and we seem to play most of them as scrimmages err tune up games)

SDSU took part in Nike’s N7 program again, which means the turquoise uniforms are back.

Steve Fisher let one of our players rest his ankle and during this game he tinkered with lineups and used this game as a controlled scrimmage. I get this, most fans get this, but what bothers me is our vocal minority who think they know what is going on because they have been fans for X number of years (they weren’t there when this team struggled) and they complained that we only won by 10. Yes because one of the funky lineups coach tried didn’t work well on offense and let some random hit crazy 3’s. Fans need to realize these games are not for high flying dunks and using actual plays. These games are to give walk-ons some game time, figure out strategy, try different things, and experiment. They are not for blowing out lesser competition, and besides coach wouldn’t blow out a team he knew didn’t have the same talent level and share the same city with.

The Rousey Fight

If you follow my Twitter feed you know I was rooting for Rousey with tweets like “Rousey’s entrance will be longer than the fight.” I was only watching this fight card because of the Rousey fight but some of the lead up fights was decent. I rooted for Mark Hunt because he used Naughty By Nature’s Feel Me Flow, and when it came time for the main event I was ready for the 30 seconds of ass kicking. Yeah that never happened and in Round 2 she went down hard. There was tons of “WTF” and “Holy ****” It was crazy and I figured it wouldn’t happen but down she went. I know some people were excited that someone finally shut up Rousey. I liked the angry Rousey, and I want to see how she bounces back from this. I still don’t think she should have chased Holm because she was eating punches and getting gassed.

Chris Listens To…

I tried out TuneIn Premium for a week because I really like football on the radio but the $8.00 a month really wasn’t worth it for me to just listen to regular radio throughout the week. So during the week I decided to try out their selection of audiobooks and I went with

Mindy Kaling’s Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? At times I found it to be very funny but overall it was a book that I listened to while doing other things. If you find her work funny give it a read.

Chris Takes Pictures…

This past weekend there was a BBQ Festival here at the local public golf course. They shut down the driving range/Foot Golf field (I really want to try Foot Golf). I knew about this little festival a day before it started but on Saturday I completely forgot until around 4ish. The festival ends at 6 so I figured I wasn’t going to eat much BBQ, but it doesn’t hurt to try. When I showed up there was still a good size crowd watching a local band perform and a handful of stalls still had food so naturally I found the spot with the longest line and went to the end, and waited.

It was a good turnout and there were a lot of folks parked out on the empty field next to the course.

Here are a couple of the lines that were at this little festival

The good people who were working hard to make us folks in line some really good food. The owner told us in line that the wait will be an hour and they should have enough but if we didn’t want to wait they would be back in town in a couple of weeks. Super nice people. There was a lady who was in front of me who was complaining that it was taking too long and she could get food at McDonalds. I usually don't cuss here but she was a mega bitch.

This was their grill by the time I got my order. I got the last of the beef and the only items they had left were turkey leg meat.

After an hour and a half I got my food and it was really good. The folks who made it were really nice, and were apologizing for the wait. This was a fun place to people watch and I spent part of my time doing that and I may have watched the end of a couple of football games (thank you Watch ESPN App, and Mountain West Conference App)

Thanks for checking out my pictures!

Chris And The iTunes Problem

Ok let’s go back to Wednesday when I saw this album and I bought it on my phone

It’s a Christmas EP from an artist form Hawaii that I enjoy. So when I decided to log into my iTunes account on Thursday and iTunes kept crashing when it was trying to download this album. After a couple of hours with a really friendly Apple employee they wanted me to reinstall OSX. After some tinkering I figured out how to save my iTunes without reinstalling anything. All I did was clear the iTunes cache, renamed the folder where my iTunes library lives, cleared out the download folder and redirected iTunes to the new folder and everything was good.

Right after I finished this, iTunes worked fine, I was relieved, and I got an email from Apple. I'm happy that I didn't have to reinstall the Operating System and my funky approach fixed the problem.

So far the only thing wrong is a couple of albums didn’t get redirected so when I plugged my iPod to get synced some tracks couldn’t be found. iTunes is currently fixing that so it shouldn’t be a problem.

Pickups!

Games

After a trip to the bank I went to the local GameStop that I haven’t been to in a couple of months and when I walked in I was greeted by an employee who said “Long time no see, how’ve you been?” I was a little shocked because there are a lot of people that go through this store and I would go every other week so it was nice to be noticed. After 15 minutes of browsing I found what I wanted and made my way to checkout and got some light teasing about these games

I got the “I wonder what you like playing”. I am currently playing a lot of Band Hero because I don’t think I played a lot of the PS2 version. I’m slowly getting back to my normal GH level of hitting high 90% on medium (sorry folks who play on Hard, that is way too difficult for me). As for the employees at this GameStop I left positive feedback on their TellGameStop page. Has anyone actually won a giftcard from GameStop for filling out the surveys?

Saw this on Slickdeals yesterday morning. I was going to have Walmart price match Amazon who had one game for $25 but it was a short time thing and by the time I was going to pickup my order it already went back to $45

Yep Black Friday started early for me, and what is funny is around this time a year ago I bought the other FIFA game.

Music

I have to say this album is catchy which shocked me.

It is a decent mix of Pop, R&B, and a little Electronic. I’m currently listening to it as I type this entry and it isn’t bad. Check it out.

Alright Pixlpeeps I must be off to probably find some breakfast. Have a good weekend! Oh I noticed that I really should start thinking about my Chris Goes All Awards Show Blog because December is close.

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

For my song of the week I went back to around 2002. I was talking to a friend about music and I remembered how much I really liked the song from the original Kingdom Hearts commercial. After that I think I found it on YouTube

I remember having this track on a mix CD I used to listen to while sitting in my Illustrator Class. Anyways I think this was the original commercial that got the song stuck in my head

Have a good weekend Pixlbit!

I liked that Kingdom Hearts song too, only heard it when I rented it and it was opening song.

I have lost so much respect for you for giving that "reformed" brat Bieber money, however indirectly. lol

Mmmmm BBQ.

I should get a sports game. Need to try the demos on PS4.

Hey thank you for taking time to read my ramblings. That's a fun tradition you have with the Christmas CDs. I should stick to buying Christmas CDs during the season but sometimes the thrift stores have a bunch, and I'm always picking them up but I don't listen to them until Christmas time....or right after Halloween.
