I think it's super pretty and I've enjoyed my time with it.

Settle it in Smash
Hey Pixlbit, how's it going? We are doing 2 for 2 with this as it's exactly 1 year ago that Super Smash Bros. for Wii U was released. As with the previous post, I'll be giving my thoughts on SSB Wii U 1 year after it released. So letsa go...
I remember when Satoru Iwata announced that there was not only a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U in development, but also on 3DS. But I'm only going to focus on the Wii U version. Thing is that the game wasn't a thing yet, it was probably to hype the Wii U. Then 2013 came and they showed the first trailer for it. I was hyped for it.
Smash is like a sort of event at my house. A way to describe it is that my bros and I play a ton of it, and we have fun. So they were hyped too. The rumors, speculation on who's in, that sort of thing.
They showed trailers about newcomers between that time and E3 2014 and I was happy at how the roster was looking like. Characters who were on my wishlist showed up as well as characters who I didn't think would show but loved that too.
Eventually the release date came and we were excited. I managed to get the bundle with the controller because my older GCN controllers didn't work well. We played alot of Smash that day, my brother even got a Kirby amiibo. I got one too from Amazon, though I've already touched upon that already.
If you've played Smash Bros. before, then you'd know what to expect. Except this time the game is in HD. But that's not all it has as it has tons. One of the biggest additions to Smash 4 Wii U is 8-player Smash which is just as its namesake, you can play rounds with 8 players at once! Though there are limitations to this, like you can't play on every stage and the stage selection was small at the start, but the selection was expanded with updates over time. I see this being a hit at parties and such since there'll be no more waiting for controllers.
Your traditional modes are back, and even the normal 4 player Smash got a tweak in its stages. You have your traditional stages, but you can also change the stage to a mode called Omega form/mode which is the stage with no gimmicks in it, it's just a flat stage like Final Destination.
A new mode called Smash Tour was added which is like Mario Party. In this mode you choose you choose your Mii and the game randomly assigns characters to you. From there you go on the board and events happen like you can swap characters with other players, and more. You can also collect characters too. At the end, you duke it out with other players using all the characters you collected. The idea is neat, as it lets you try out characters you wouldn't try before, the thing is not everyone likes this idea because it forces you to try characters you're not familiar with.
The online got an overhaul too, it's definitely better than Brawl's online. You can go solo or play 2 player online Smash. There's your traditional Smash with online friends, your normal fight with random players and more. There's 2 modes you can play going solo, there's For Fun mode which you play for fun, no points and such will be deducted. Then there's For Glory mode, which is a ranked battle thing. You win, you earn points, and you move up the leaderboard. Lose and you lose points and go down the leaderboard. There's also Tourney's that they've added not too long ago. The game does lag from time to time, but at least it isn't unplayable like Brawl.
There's this Vault thing that let's you view various things you've collected, like character trophies, saved replays, view screenshots, listen to music and more. Really love the music selection this time around, there's a ton of classic tunes from previous Smash games as well as remixes of familiar music. I say they've outdone themselves this time.
Lastly, the huge roster of characters. This is the biggest roster of characters to date, you have veterans as well as newcomers, 3rd-party guest characters, and dlc characters. Yes dlc. I think they've been doing a good job with dlc. Characters are 4 bucks, but for an extra dollar you can get characters for both the Wii U and 3DS version. So if you buy Roy separately on the Wii U, it'll be 4 bucks, and an extra 4 if you want Roy on your 3DS later. So your best option is buying the bundle that gives you Roy or any other character for both versions, considering you have both. There's also Mii Costumes which I like to call the place where your hopes for a character go to die. Still waiting on Banjo, Shantae, and Snake as playable fighters. You can also fight and train your amiibo too, which levels up and gets stronger, as well as more smarter and harder to beat.
Final Thoughts: I think is the most definitive Smash Bros. yet. I never hated Brawl, but if you hated Brawl then you'll love this one. The games physics are in between both Melee and Brawl's which I think is a right balance. There's plenty of modes with lots to unlock, the online isn't perfect but definitely makes up for Brawl's. There's lots of levels with lots of music, and the roster of characters is bigger and better than ever. Plus there's dlc to add to the game to keep you playing for a long time, they are still adding dlc as well as tweaking the game. I definitely think it'll be hard to top this if there's a Smash NX or whatever. But there's always Melee if you don't like this.
So those are my thoughts on Smash 4 Wii U, 1 Year Later. So what do you think of Smash 4 Wii U? Thanks for reading and later.
