Question #12

Hey Pixlbit, how are you?

NES Action System

It's December 12 and coincidentally this is the 12th questionaire I've done so far. And it's just 12 more days till Christmas too. Imagine that. Everyone remembers the very first system they ever played and/or owned. It was probably a magical experience in a way that for some, it has no equal in terms of experiences. So this is what the question of the week is: What is the very first video game console you remember playing? What is the very first console you owned? Do you still own it? Be it console or pc.

Well, that's all for now. Thanks for reading and have a great weekend.

I mean there were games on PC, but they all tried to educate me, so fuck 'em.

First console played was NES and SNES, which were my older bro's.

First console I got for Christmas was N64 and first I bought myself was GCN. Still own both and all Nintendo handhelds up to DS. Now own a laptop w/360 controller and Steam and a PS4. So in a sense, I have one console from each company, counting my laptop as a Microsoft console (which it is).

I never got an Atari 2600 as a kid because it was too expensive and my parents probably thought I was too young.  And I was happy just to go to arcades more anyway.  The games were better at least.  Our first gaming system for the house was actually a computer, an Apple ][+.  So I was perfectly happy playing a more arcade perfect Pac-Man than the one on the 2600.

My first gaming console was an Atari 5200.  That system had a lot of problems like the fact it was so huge and the controllers weren't too good.  But man the games were so much better on it than the 2600.  That was a Christmas present and it was a total surprise because I didn't even ask for one!  But I think they got it for cheap because the 7800 and the NES were coming out soon.  But it was OK, I enjoyed playing the 5200 anyway.   In fact, I didn't even get a NES right away because I was perfectly happy playing Pengo on my 5200.

The first I had was the NES, but it really belonged to my parents. They had bought it for themselves and not for me particularly. I used to play both Super Mario Bros and The Legend of Zelda with my Mom and Baseball with my Dad. Eventually it became me and my brothers' system.

The first system that was wholly mine from the get go was the Gameboy, followed by the SNES.

we were given an NES with about 30 games from some lady cleaning out her basement.  That is the first console we ever had in the house.  We no longer have it because it got traded in to get A Link to the Past.

The first console I bought for myself was the PS2, I think.  I still have it, it is plugged into the TV at the moment.

The first console I played was my friends Colecovision, first one I owned was the NES or the Commodore 64 if you count that as a console and not a computer.

the Texas Instruments TI-99 computer.  Connected it to your TV.  I remember it before I remember Atari, but I don't know what we had first.  I played the hell out of that computer.  Even learned basic on it. It was half console/half computer like they all were back then.

First played is this Pong console. My mom has a picture of me and sister playing it when I was 7 or so. I have to get a copy of that and post it.

pong

First owned I not entirely sure. It could've been a Genesis, SNES or PS1, so I'll go with PS1.

ps1

I don't own it anymore. I got a slim model later and then got rid of that when I could play PS1 games on my PS2.
