Never really been a Star Fox fan. I don't hate the games at all, though, and I've played all of them and will probably try Star Fox Zero. But it's not my favorite Nintendo series.

The Leader of Star Fox, Fox. Fox was always a cool character to me. What I always loved about Fox was that at the time, he was the only character with a gun. Heck at the time I couldn't believe Mario could grab a gun and shoot his opponents in Smash. It's very common in Smash now, but that was a little mind blowing. I didn't know who Fox was, but became familiar with him later on when I tried Star Fox 64.
Fox is a fast character, everything about him is speed. He runs fast, hits fast, and shoots fast. Unfortunately he isn't that strong though. Shots from his blaster don't make opponents flinch, but you can chain up some quick hits due to his speed. He also has a Reflector, a device that Fox has to reflect enemy projectiles, which is handy. Unfortunately it actually breaks and sends you flying if lets say, you use Fox and someone else uses Fox, and both of you reflect a projectile back at each other.
Fox is also a popular character in competitive Smash, especially in Melee as he's a top tier character. I've seen some videos on that and it's amazing how people make up for the lack of attack power Fox has. Guess with his speed it's easy to chain up combos. Overall, Fox is pretty fun to use, what he lacks in power, he makes up for in speed.
