On the 07th Day of ChriSMASH

Hey Pixlbit, how are you? It's time for our 7th ChriSMASH post. On the 7th Day of ChriSMASH, the character I'll post about...

Captain Falcon

The Supersonic Slugger, Captain Falcon! I always loved Captain Falcon. I always thought he was an awesome character. I loved how back in the original Smash, his signature move, Falcon Punch made an explosion sound when you used it. It literally packs a punch. A Falcon Punch. I eventually got F-Zero X and loved it.

One thing that crosses my mind is that they had to invent a moveset for Captain Falcon. The games he comes from are racing games. For other characters, it might have been easy, I'm sure there was more thought into the movesets, but most of the characters moves are from their actual games. So at the time, Falcon had a pretty unique moveset. Plus in Brawl, his Final Smash was the only one with a cut scene.

Captain Falcon is fast and he's strong. He was really strong in the first 2 Smash games, he was nerfed in Brawl, not sure about now but he seems strong to me. There haven't been any new F-Zero games for a while, but Captain Falcon will always be there in Smash. Complete with shouting out the names of his moves.

That's it for this ChriSMASH, thanks for reading and later.

Falcon Punch became a euphemism for so many things .... yeah, I really want a new F-Zero, but looks like there's that third party game coming to Wii U looks just like an F-Zero. I kinda want the real thing though. With the classic track themes, vehicles and characters.

Nick got that game.  He said it was pretty good!  But I understand the desire for a REAL F-Zero game.

My favorite F-Zero racers were always the samurai guy in the fat pink car, and Mrs. Arrow.  But I guess Capt. Falcon is more representative of the series.  I like it when Kirby gets Falcon's power and shouts out "Falcon Punch" in his cute little voice.
