 Question #13

Hey Pixlbit how are you? Just a few more days till Christmas!

                                            Skyward Sword

Have you ever been so hyped for a game, that you couldn't contain your excitement? You look at screenshots, trailers, previews, and any info you could find on said game. Then when you play it, it isn't as great as you initially thought, only to be let down. Maybe you played through it all and said, yeah it was great. But then you play it again and your opinion suddenly changed. So that is the question of the week: What game were you hyped for the most, but was really disappointing when you actually played it. Which game, and why? It can be when you actually played it, or after you finished it once, or twice.  Avoid spoilers if you mention a game someone hasn't played yet.

That's it for this week, thanks for reading and later.

Hmmm ... well, I never played Brutal Legend, but I was super disappointed to find out it was an RTS.

I guess Shadows of the Empire and 1080 Snowboarding are overrated games I own on N64. SotH became overly difficult after first couple levels (way to make a jetpack not fun) and looked muddy even then, whereas 1080 is just a so-so game with not too many levels or modes that seems to get a lot of praise from people reminiscing. I enjoy both and wasn't really hyped for them, just kinda bought them or was gifted them, but I'd say they're overhyped in retrospect.

Destiny. I lined up day one to buy the game, only to find repetitive missions and a story that was borderline nonsense. Thankfully, The Taken King and the other DLC was a big improvement and I really like the game now.

I was really excited for Final Fantasy X after playing the PSONE trilogy and loving it. I was pretty damn impressed with it, even if it does have it's flaws. But I did love the game, and still love it.

I watched a lot of Bioshock Infinite videos, but the moment they started delaying it I stopped watching previews.  So when I went into the game, I still had all the intial previews in my mind and very little of those videos were actually in the game.

I still liked the game, but it was a letdown because the stuff that I had seen looked amazing and the final game was far more straightforward than was let on at that point.
