Shin Megami Tensei and my obsession goes back to the ps2 in its prime, I ended up getting both of these back in 2006, and ended up trading them about four years ago and my obsession with getting them back into my collection began a year ago, so for thoughs of you who dont know about the Devil Summoner games heres a breif rundown, Devil Summoner [ Raido Kuzunoha ] was published by Atlus in 2006 and its sequel Devil Summoner 2 [ Raidou Kuzunoha ] which was released in 2008 and published by Atlus,so unlike other Shin Megami Tensei titles that are turned based these two are more action oreinted im not going to do like normal and get indepth on the story but in short, your character a high school student of Yumizuki high school turned devil summoner of the Kuzunoho family, he can confine demons in tubes called kuda and can use them in battle or for detective work.
During a routine investigation by the Narumi detective agency, Shohei and his teen aged aprentice aka you respond to a call for help from a client. When the client reveals herself to be Kaya Daidoji, she request them to kill her, the two are baffled but before they can ask why, mysterious men wearing red armoured suits and capes kidnap Kaya while they attack Raido, so as you can see this is a devil collecting murder mystery, and the devil collecting is where my obsession comes in cause its kinda like collecting pokemon, but naturally on a much more mature level.
So this is why I love this series and the story is epic, and also this is a set that I need in my collection to complete mt Shin Megami Tensei collectio which goes in this order,
1. Digital devl saga 1
2. Digital devil saga 2
3'. Noctournel
4. Devil summoner 1
5. Devil summoner 2
There is alot of Japanese imports and psp and gameboy spin offs but on the ps2 its in that order, so as you can see I have all of these with the exception of the Devil Summoner games whic I will be buying in 1 to 2 weeks.
At any rate this is why im obsessed with these two games and if you have never played either you might want to try it not to mention the resale value has tripled since last year. but with the rereleases of both games at $ 30 a game there very affordable and very very good games.
