Hey guys, I haven't really played many video games lately. I've kinda gotten into Tabletop gaming. I recently bought the X-Wing starter pack and two expansions. It's a bit expensive but it's a ton of fun and the models look badass. So far I've got two tie fighters, one x-wing, a slave I and a millenium falcon. Here's what some the models look like:

They're pretty awesome! These aren't my models btw, but I want to buy more!

Also, I found a site where people can play tabletop rpgs online. So the question is... who's in? If anyones had any experience DM'ing please let me know, I'd love to play with you guys. We'd choose a time once a week to play, and play over voice chat. It'd be great! You can play plenty of them but I think for the first game we should do D&D5e because it's simplish to learn.

But yeah, drop me a link if you're interested!

I have experience DMing, and I'd love to DM again... I just am a little afraid of taking the leap.

It is scary, but you'd be in a friendly environment hopefully. And I do think you'd make a good DM.

I'm down only if I can play as Hector the Well Endowed

You most certainly can :p

Those table-top models look cool. I was into DnD Minatures a while back.

The DnD models are also super nice! I saw a bunch at the store I bought my x-wings at but they were super expensive.

I've been seeing that X-Wing game all over the place lately. Certainly looks like a cool game!

It's also super simple to learn! And relatively cheap for a miniatures game. And you don't have to paint them or anything.

If I had the time, I'd be in. Things are a bit hectic and complicated in my life these days.

Thats understandable. We would be doing it once a week if that makes it easier, but if not I totally understand.

Wow those are really nice models! I don't blame you for wanting more models. I think I've seen this game at Barnes & Noble.

Yeah. Part of it is that I like the game, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't just an excuse to play with awesome looking Star Wars toys again :p

I don't blame you, I'd play with them too.

I'd be up for playing. I wanna learn, however I'm afraid to in person because people can be rude and mean. Seen it at comic shops all the time.

Yeah. People are dicks, especially when it's something they can claim some sort of elitist superiority complex over.

You're definitely welcome too though. If we do it we'll be doing it over voice chat so you'll need a functioning mic.

Sooo ... this replacing the podcast or ... ?

Nah, this would just be a fun thing to do with the guys on pixlbit. The podcast is taking a break until february. We need a new 3rd host, hopefully asreal or James can come back because Jamie can't do it anymore.

Are you editing our list or can I post what I edited?

Honestly, I was going to some more editing but I think it's good enough to post. I was just waiting until I got paid so I could get the soundcloud upgrade so I could put more files up because the last podcast used up most of the free space.

I see. Well, if I'm freed up enough I'd love to keep doing the podcast as well as the tabletop (might also invite Steve from my part time work), but it all depends on how these 90+ students treat me (30 to a class).

Those models are freaken sweet! I'd have them just for display if I didn't have time to play the game.
I think it's cool you're trying to put together a tabletop thing. I've always been interested been can't find the people or time. I've never played D&D but I'm all for your projects, so sign me up if you need a player, although I'd need to study up on rules and such.
Hope it's successful. It would be rad if you made it all work. What is the website you are using? I have to admit that I have a few table top figures I picked up from a hobby shop a short while ago. A pathfinder wizard and a few from a game called Malifaux.

Have you ever played those White Wolf games, like Vampire Masquerade or World of Darkness? Just wondering?

No I haven't. I've played the VTM Bloodlines game though so I'm super keen to jump into that lore, and if this is successful we could move onto other things.

The website we're using is roll20.net. I'm hoping it's successful too. I think the biggest barrier is Timezones. And getting a DM but I could maybe rope the guy in who DM'd me last time.

And people not knowing the rules. I'll do a follow up blog, but so far there are 6 people interested including me and you, and a possible 7th if can rope the my other friend in. If not I guess I'd have to learn to DM, but 6 should be a good number as well.

Okay. Keep us all updated.

Oh man, I would so love to have my first role playing session, even by voice chat. Problem would be timezone, time it's going to be done and finally, if there's any implement I need, like a sheet with the character characteristics or something.

Blake Turner Staff Writer

You'd just need to look up how to make a character basically. The DM (which at this point will likely be me) does most of the rest of the work and the only thing you really need to learn is combat, which is all dice rolls. But the dice and character sheets I do believe are all part of the site we're using. Time Zone might be a bit tricky, but if we had it on a weekend hopefully that might be easier for more people.

At the moment I'm just seeing how many we've got interested and then I'll work it out from there.
