Happy Friday Pixlpeeps! The weather is being nice today and there is no rain in Southern California. The past couple of days there was a lot of rain, which is good because the State is finally realizing we need water. We got a little power outage here for a couple of days and thank goodness for the Vita, iPad, and iPod I had something to do. I went outside a couple of times and it was eerie to see the neighborhood covered in darkness. You could see neighbors in their house because of the floating beams of light in their windows. The next day I decided to replenish the supply of candles and flashlights

Apparently Target does not sell boxes of matches. Anyways how are you Pixlbit? How is 2016 treating you?

Chris Watches…

Making A Murderer – Netflix: If you haven’t noticed it seems everyone is watching this show, and apparently everyone is now a lawyer. Since I have also enjoyed CSI, I can throw a forensic background into my couch lawyering. I’m trying not to binge watch and jumping to Wikipedia for the ending.

Jessica Jones – Netflix: Currently at episode 4. I’m still on the fence with this show, but it is starting to turn the corner to interesting for me. We shall see if I really get into it this weekend.

MTV’s The Challenge – MTV: This week on The Challenge Abram (he's batsh*t crazy) finds out his girl Cara Maria has been messing around with one of the twins before he arrived so the tension was there. During the elimination it was Abram’s brother vs. the Twin’s brother where the goal was to smash every piece of furniture in a room and fit the pieces into a small hole in the wall. Abram is one crazy dude, and during the after show Abram and Cara Maria were portrayed to be in a super toxic relationship. It was more uncomfortable than the usual recapping of funny moments.

Chris Listens To…

As of last blog I had 15,307 unlistened to tracks in my iTunes library. Well this morning I checked and I am at

I also have 100+ songs I’ve listened to on the iPod that I haven’t synced yet, and another 30 songs on the iPhone. I’ve started out strong and I have a goal of listening to a new album a day.

Chris Takes Pictures…

This was taken I believe yesterday after lunch after a small rainstorm hit

It was a nice break from the rain and I thought the clouds had an interesting look to them with the sun trying to break through the curtain of gray. Because of all the rain we are having, there is snow on the mountains! I’m still debating if this is the year I go to the Tram and experience this “snow” people keep talking about.

Thanks for looking at my picture!

Games

Ok so I have my resolution to not try and not buy a ton of games this year, and so far I’m keeping up with it but this game I couldn’t pass up because I’ve wanted to find a complete copy for a couple of years. Flashback to a couple of years ago: At the Swapmeet I found a vendor who had a bunch of random items and ne of them was this game that was sealed with a GameStop price for $49. I was hoping he would let it go for maybe $25, which I felt was reasonable. When he said he wanted $50, I laughed and said good luck with that. He was a seller who raided the Target Clearance endcaps and was trying to sell old NCAA Football games with $5 prices on them for $20.

Back to present day and it was either this guy or someone who decided they no longer liked video games had a bunch of their stuff at Goodwill. (I’m wondering what goodies I missed on by now showing up earlier.) Anyways this is the game I wanted and got for $8

Is it a good game? Probably not, but it was complete with original box and this is the kicker

It’s still sealed. I’ll probably leave it sealed because it’s a cool set to have complete.

Music

While at the Goodwill they had some new CDs but nothing really big to jump on their buy 3 get 1 free deal and I picked up these two albums

My friend and I were talking about Sister Act for some reason, and a day later I find the CD. Naturally I had to pick it up to and give it a listen. Apparently I already own the David Sanborn CD. I really need to update my list on my phone.

These albums are currently free on the Google Play Store

If you don’t have Jeff Buckley or The King in your library, its about time you fix that problem.

Lego

The best time of year for Target other than a couple of days after holiday’s when the candy is 50% off is new year’s when the toys are on clearance. So many Lego sets are on clearance and I am waiting for some of the City sets to drop to 50% off so I can pick up the snowplow, and fire engine. One of the pleasant surprises that was still on the shelf is this one

The Batman Submarine set! I think the only set I’m missing from last year’s Batman line is the weird Mech, and the little set where Batman has scuba gear. As for the current set

I also picked up the new Batmobile from the Batman Superman flick

The new Batmobile is interesting and I like the new print details on the Ben Afflick Batman. The cowl also has smaller pointed ears. The next day I went back to the local Target (when I was buying candles) and they restocked the shelves with more new sets. I didn’t buy the new underwater Iron Man set but I did add this set to the collection

It’s the rooftop battle scene from the new flick. Batman has an older cowl and some armor.

During these visits to Target I bought these polybags because they were $1

The Friends polybags were the holiday’s polybag and the local Target had two shelves full of them. During my second visit they dropped even further in price to a whooping .40 cents. That is a steal so I ended up buying I think 20 in total.

This is what the set looks like. I built one, and the others I just split into parts

This is how many bags I opened so far.

I still have 11 bags I haven’t opened. I’ll save a couple for my cousin’s kid because I started her out with her own Lego sets.

And this is one of the random Ninjago bags I bought

I mainly bought this set for the Asian hat, swords, and the clear figure. I’ll just add the parts to my bin of pieces.

Alright Pixlbit I am off to enjoy this cool Friday morning with a Chorizo Burrito so have a good weekend!

That’s all for now, more later

-Chris

I have a fear that Johnny Football is going to end up dressed like this in the coming weeks

POP!

I'm not watching Making a Murderer. And I don't have any Jeff Buckley or Elvis in my music collection because I don't really like either of them (other than Buckley's Hallelujah).

Nice pic of the clouds. And yes, you should go check out the snow, make a mini snowman, throw a snow ball. Maybe even get crazy and make a snow angel :D

Buckley's version is the best one.

Oh you're missing out on playing couch lawyer. I still haven't got back to the series (still a bit frustrated) but after seeing a meme on Reddit about it, I think its time to pick it back up.

Thanks! I think the snow season is starting to wrap up here, and I'm too lazy to drive back to the tram. When the first snow hit, there was a four hour wait for the tram, and I'm not one to drive in the snow so hitting the other mountain was out.

That Batman submarine though is the mega bomb.

Thanks! At some point I really should build my own version of the Batcave. I already have a couple of planes, a couple of cars, and now the sub.

I highly suggest watching Ash Vs Evil Dead, its amazing and great. I'm a fan of the Evil Dead films and definitly approve of the show. They just finished up Season 1 and it is on the Starz App. Heres hopeing season 2 is greenlighted. I havent watched Making a murderer but I have been reading stuff on it. I wont lie, Ive seen both sides of the arguement and I do wonder if they guy was framed. I just dont see someone commiting a more higher up crime when they had to serve years behind bars on a wrongful conviction. Makes no sense but hey, hopefully the truth comes out in the end.

I would check it out but no Starz in my household. We have HBO and Showtime only because the HOA's cable deal gives it to us for free. Yeah its crazy that the police would go through all of this just to get the guy twice, but you never know how crazy people are. If anything its an interesting story to play couch lawyer.

Its a cool vehicle and a solid design.

I think horror must have been so much more effective before electricity was widespread. Not because darkness is scary, but because those people with their candles can't all be pretty or have clothes on that late.

Everyone on my Facebook is watching that Netflix court drama. I have heard they leave out some key details. I guess I'll watch it and then look up what they left out.

I need to watch Jessica Jones as well. That's another I've been told I need to watch.

I have the 2016 Batmobile in AK, but I'd like a LEGO Batmobile.

Yup and I'd like to throw in the creepy sounds of houses at night, and that era had to be one heck of a scary movie period.

I can see details being left out if it doesn't help the narrative. My mom already looked up the events and is trying to spoil the story. I'll get back to watching it this weekend and then do some internet reading about the case.

I'm still dragging my feet on Jessica Jones. It might be a little too heavy for my usual watch of happy/action Marvel stuff.

I really should install AK and play through the Season Pass stuff I bought but haven't downloaded.
