Uninspired

I haven't had any inspiration to write over the past few months and it is kinda bumming me out.

I played through Ys:  Oath in Felghana a couple months back and wanted to tell you guys about how awesome it was and how i regretted not playing it years ago when I had first downloaded it to my Vita.  Everytime I sit down to start typing, the words escape me.  It isn't just blogs, I have had issues with comments.  I read through nearly every blog and go down to comment and nothing comes out.  It is almost as if I am tongue-tied.

At this moment in gaming, I think that I have hit big-budget fatigue.  I haven't finished MGSV and have no desire to at the moment.  I played through a good chunk of BLOPS IIIs campaign and several hours of multiplayer, but don't expect to play anymore in the foreseeable future.  Fallout 4 came, and I haven't even started it.  Everytime I think about entering a post-apocalyptic wasteland, I yearn to play Wasteland 2 (my copy is on its way).

The day after Christmas I booted up A Link to the Past and burned through that game in a couple of days and then jumped straight into Metroid Fusion and then Zero Mission.  Since the new year all that I have played is a little bit of Heroes of Loot on Vita and The Adventures of Pip.

I have to say that I am somewhat glad to be in a gaming funk at the moment.  I have spent significantly more time reading over the past few weeks than all of 2015.  I miss reading... and giving 100% to a television show.  Earlier this year I had Hannibal on in the background while I played either Rogue Legacy or The Swindle on Vita.  I really liked the show, but I missed so much by not giving it my full attention.  I watched the first episode again with no distractions and enjoyed it even more.  That show is a work of art.

I have been staring at and working on this blog all day.  I think it is time to call it quits.  Hopefully Gone Home is already installed and waiting for me, otherwise I have Gary Whitta's Abomination to read.

Until Next Time...

I've been reading a lot too, which really makes me happy cause I didn't read for years, and I truly love reading.  I just couldn't focus on text. But now I'm reading nonfiction books as well as novels, etc. and I'm really feeling proud of myself for getting back into it.  Reading is some magical shit.

I also resolved to finish games from now on. So right now, I'm trying to finish 2015's games, Arkham Knight and Dragon Age Inquisition. Been doing pretty good at it. Then it will be Pillars of Eternity and Zestiria.

Anyway, it's nice to hear from you!

I don't remember that episode, but I do appreciate all Red Dwarf references.

The gaming funk happes to us all. I've been trying to finish up games from last year so nothing new to really write about. I'm like you sometimes. I can't finish new AAA games but I can pop in an old school console game and fly through it and have a lot of fun. I'm currently playing RE1 Remake and Lightning Returns on PC which looks really pretty! And I've also got a backlog of books on my kindle device but I'm getting through those and enjoying reading too. I think Zero Mission metroid is releasing this week on WiiU! Yea! I also started up Links Awakening on 3DS and the sound is just phenominal! I haven't blogged in a great while either. Maybe I'll get back into it? Maybe not?

Have you tried Ys Seven?  It's really good.

Oh yeah, and what does BLOPS stand for?  That's kind of a funny acronym to pronounce.  Blops. :)

It's on my Vita.  Hoping the PS2 one comes to PS4 via emulation.

Call of Duty:  BLack OPS III.

Up until late December, I hadn't done any blogging since July (apart from my monthly recaps, which take no creativity on my part). I'm hoping to get back into it, at least more than I was. And hey, Blog-a-Day is coming up! It's nice to hear from you though. I'm glad you've stuck around even if you've been mostly silent.

No sense in actually leaving, this place is still one of the friendliest places on the internet.

I want to read more books again as well. Just had too much going on with travel job and preparing for my move and new job.

I don't think that I read anything in 2015.  I blame the lack of plane rides that I had because that is when I normally am able to burn through books.

I've stopped commenting if I can't think of something to say pretty quickly. I used to force it just to post something, but there's really no point in that. I've also cut back in blogging for this year. I was doing recaps every time I played a game, but this year I'm only blogging when I'm finished with a game. I'm thinking about how to cut down my word count too. I want to get more to the point and be brief about it.

I know the feeling. Sometimes you don't feel like writing. Either way, it's good to have you back.

I feel like a lot of people have had AAA fatigue this year, Fortunately I'm not one of them. MY big burn out came last year. At least you've got Oath in Felghana which is fucking amazing.

And I'm the same with commenting. I read a lot but when it comes time to comment, I find it very hard unless it's someone on here I interact with a lot or have known for ages. Even then it's difficult because even online I'm socially awkward as fuck.

I'm mainly commenting now because I love your writing and want you back at the site. So here's hoping you blog a bit more.

I've gone through the funk as well. I tend to do other things for a bit. You have reading, and I went with listening to/finding new music. It might be the overload of a good thing.

I'm also a bit like that with comments, since most of the time I feel I can't say anything without sounding too simplr or trying to talk about something you're not that experienced (like games you haven't played).

I've been playing a lot with my Wii U, so I don't really have a Triple-A fatigue, although currently I have a PC fatigue, because I just changed my computer and installed Steam again, so i'm not going to bother with that for a while.
