Before we get stared on the final entry in Darkstalkers Week, I want to show this incredible Morrigan cosplay by famed cosplayer Linda Li (VampyBitMe)

It's an incredible piece of work made more amazing when you realize that it perfectly emulates a character portrait for Morrigan from Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom. The portrait was made by the legendary Capcom artist, Shinkiro.

There is a reasons I started with this, other than it combines three of my favorite things in the world (Capcom fighters, Cosplay, and Shinkiro). Rather, this is a visual representation of the fan work which is the real life blood of Darkstalkers From artwork, comics, and even arcade playt hroughs are what's keeping Darkstalkers alive. Even something as silly as a highlight reel of showcasing the awful Ruby-Spears Darkstalkers Cartoon from the 90's are important to keeping Darkstalkers current (and hopefully to remind Capcom to never get THAT bad with the series again).

For a series is only made of 5 games its impact on video games is immense. It has not only made an impact on casual fans but hardcore fighting game players. Vampire Savior tournaments are yearly events in Japan attracting many famous fighting game players in the Japanese fighting game community.

Next year, specifically December, with mark Darkstalkers 20th anniversary and we are still to early to say what Capcom will do. On one hand, it could be big, year long celebration as it was with Street Fighter's 25th Anniversary. Its strong possibility considering Darkstalkers 3's /Vampire Savior's competitive roots. On the other hand... Mega Man's 20th..... Do I need to say more? In theory, Darkstalkers Resurrection could be the first step in its celebration, ultimately culminating to Darkstalkers 4. However, the recent announcement of an update Street Fighter 4 is going to slow any possible work on that, if there is any already being done on it. Still, even without Capcom's backing, Darkstalkers will continue to grow. It's legacy is upheld in every one of its fans. Darkstalkers 4 may not come but Darkstalkers will still have continuous rule of the night for years to come.

Author's Final Notes, Acknowledgments, and Credits

Well, it's been two weeks since I started Darkstalkers Week but its finally over. Its been really bumpy road and I'm a bit mixed on it. I'm happy that I did what I said I would: A Darkstalkers retrospective. On the other hand, there's were so many things I didn't get to put in, maybe drone on for too long, and definitely some grammar issues. I wish things it feel so rushed but I don't have much time between my job, which pretty much robs me of all my energy in my free time. There's a lot I want to come back and revisit someday to fix or to add on. In fact, I was thinking through out writing this of next year converting this into a video series in time for Darkstalkers 20th anniversary. I really think this could work in that format. So, if you could please, tell me what I need to work on and what you liked about Darkstalkers Week. I've always wanted to these fighting game retrospectives and it would be so helpful if I knew what I need to work on or keep improving.

I also want to give out some serious thank yous to everyone who read this but especially to Noe V (BigMex). Not only thanks for the advice and the links to your blogs which helped me when I was planning but also for your work which was my inspiration. I know these weren't the best blogs but I'm happy some people really did enjoy some of the I wrote and learned even the tiniest bit of info.

Finally, if your curious for more info about Darkstalkers and where I got most of my information and inspiration that wasn't referenced in any of my posts, here are a few great sources to poke around at.

I liked what I read of it, I'd just say to work on grammar and spelling, but if your job is draining your energy, I know how that goes. I enjoyed reading what I did.

I dug those clips of the 90s cartoon. lol There were some really bad ones in that decade.

Yay!  Very good blog series!  I remember the Darkstalkers cartoon was horrible.

That's a good cosplay picture, too.  And I don't even like Morrigan that much.

I guess the only other thing I would've liked to have read more of in this blog series was some of the side games the characters were in.  Like Puzzle Fighter 2, Pocket Fighter, and Card Fighters Clash.

I hope you get a chance to write more blogs like this, and I hope you get a chance to read my newest blog that I'll post the first of next month.  I have some really BIG news that I think you'll like. :)

I really did want to cover all of the side games, I even bought Pocket Fighter on PSN as prep for that, but I didn't have enough time to devote to all of them. Thanks Cary.

I don't know much about Darkstalkers so I found all of this quite interesting. It's one of those game series that I was always curious about. That is an amazing job of cosplay Linda Li did. She must take a long time putting all the elements together just right.

Sorry for the very late response. Linda Li is amazing with what she does. All of her stuff is primarly hand made by her which makes it even more amazing. Thanks for the response too.
