Happy beginning of Blog A Day Pixlpeeps! I had a whole Quick Hits Blog ready to go on Friday and Photobucket decided to fix itself because it was extremely slow. So for today’s blog it’ll be a little bit of that blog along with what I was planning to write for Monday. Sound good? Let’s get started with this Blog With All The DLC!
Chris Watches…
Grease – Fox: A little background: I’m not a huge Grease fan. In college they were celebrating its anniversary on campus and I went to a special screen and fell asleep. I do however enjoy the music. I started the first hour and then I posted this on Instagram
Because I was losing interest and I went back in on the third hour. Overall I really enjoyed the final hour (right around Sandra Dee sings the end of Look at me I’m Sandra Dee) and I mentioned to my friend that the final hour was a lot livelier than NBC’s Sound of Music. I thought the camera work deserves to win awards especially the continuous camera shot at the end around the carnival. It was Goodfellas good (you know the scene)
Hells Kitchen – Fox: Apparently its back and once again a bunch of folks pretending to be chefs can’t cook. I still think the kids from Masterchef Junior could win this competition with ease.
Chris Reads…
I finished two books in 2016
This was an enjoyable listen and it had a Godfather II vibe of switching between Jack Ryan of the past and Jack Ryan Jr. I enjoyed this book, especially towards the end.
This was a quick listen and I finished it in maybe two days. Lots of action and I can see why this book was the starting point for many Tom Clancy games. I'm currently on my third Tom Clancy book and I just finished Disc 1. It's like Rainbow Six in length so I should be able to finish it this week.
Chris Listenes…
Last week the unplayed count on my iTunes library stood at 14,571 tracks. About 10 of those are Album Booklets that can’t be taken off my Zero Plays smart playlist but as of this entry and not including the tracks listened to on my phone or iPod this is where I currently stand
Not bad especially if you count two digital albums and four CDs were added to the library over the past week.
Chris Takes A Picture…
I’m sharing one picture this week and that is of the moon from a couple of days ago when it was really clear and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky
For some reason my lenses weren’t cooperating for the first 10 minutes of trying to take this picture but I eventually caught something I liked. I think this is my camera’s way of telling me I should invest in a more powerful lens.
Chris Plays…
If you’re on my Playstation Friends List you saw that most of my week has been nothing but this game
I finished the main story and I am currently on working on collecting everything else and I have some thoughts about the game.
The Good: The developers have fixed a lot of the problems from previous Lego games and I like the new combo feature. If you have played games like God of War with a button prompt that appears to trigger a combo you know what I’m talking about. The tag team prompts are a lot of fun. The new puzzles are a nice touch, and the map is a lot easier to use. Having a new feature where it will tell you if the object you are looking for is above or below your character. FLYING RACES ARE BETTER!
The Bad: I wish there was more put into the Manhattan Hub because it was taken directly out of Lego Marvel Super Heroes. It would have been nice if there were more changes to the area to make it different from the previous game.
The Ugly: At some points especially in tight spots the camera is a pain. You would think this would have been resolved by now. I also ran into two-glitches/poorly thought out spots. One is where two Hulk sized figures are together and it is difficult to trigger the spot to get the next scene activated. Another spot is during a race where a decorative building gets in the way of the race.
Overall this game is really good. Compared to Dimensions, this is a better game in terms of pacing, and objectives. It seems short, but once you go into the game to collect all the other goodies you can easily sink a ton of time into the game. I’m currently around 20 hours in and 60% finished. If you are a Lego game fan give this game a look.
Pickups
Games
Yep I bought Lego Marvel Avengers. I actually pre-ordered it in June just for the Silver Centurion minifigure that was a GameStop pre-order bonus.
Music
The local Mom & Pop didn’t have anything I wanted to take advantage of their Buy 5 Get 3 Deal but I did buy these albums
It seems I’m going through an Incubus phase.
From the Thrifts
There was a song on that Rebels CD that this one girl I was talking to for a bit kept playing over and over and it was catchy. Found the CD still sealed.
Some records from the thrifts
The Bioshock 2 score comes from the Limited Edition set that comes with record, CD of the soundtrack, and three posters (I think they had a glow in the dark paint on them that made them really cool) Anyways I have the set but never opened the record, but now I can get a legit rip of the score.
Plastic Bricks!
I forgot to post this last week
This is a really solid build. I also bought the Tie Fighter and I’ll get around to building that and I may or may not make shooting sounds and have them fly around…for Scientific Purposes of course.
The GameStop at the mall had this set that I was looking for
I don’t remember any GameStop selling these before they hit the Clearance Bin (*also when did GameStop start selling N64 carts again?)
The detail is impressive but the quality of the instructions as well as the bricks is not great. I wish the instructions were at a different angle, and the brick quality isn’t a good as Lego. The figures are nice but they are a little difficult to assemble. I would probably glue the banner and podium together.
Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. I need to pace the blog posting because it’s BaD!
That’s all for now, more tomorrow!
